She took x-rays and showed me that my dog's heart was so enlarged that it was pressing against her esophagus and her trachea. Maryann sent us to Pullman, where they gave us meds that added another year to her life. If we had caught the problem earlier, she might have lived another five years or more. Although I live in Ellensburg, I still take our new dog Mishka to Maryann. She is worth the drive.

Britanny is nothing but an ignorant and insecure, mean nasty bully. A typical local loser who hides her true self behind a false bravado. She can only pretend to know what she is doing and how to manage people's pets because she obviously doesn't have any learned skill or natural talent. She should be hung by her neck and sprayed with ice cold water and left to freeze in the wind so she knows how it feels. And dragged around cruelly by her neck so she is scratched and bruised and limps for 5 or 6 weeks afterward, until her muscles and tendons recover. What a mistake Dr Randall made hiring her!. I observed her abusive treatment of customers and their pets. There is no level too low to which this disgusting, mean, useless excuse of a human being will stoop to satisfy her insane, petty need to dominate the scene. She makes the whole clinic and everyone who works there look equally vile.

On September 14th of this year we were camping at Cottonwood Canyon. We live near Portland & had…read morejust arrived at the campsite. My dog Walter was involved in a nasty little altercation with a friend's dog and he was slashed on the side of his ribcage by one of her nails. I could tell right away that while there was no blood, a stitch or two or three would be the optimal treatment. Unfortunately it was after hours and while it was an ugly wound, we didn't consider this an emergency enough to cause delays in life-or-limb saving treatment for other animals, so we waited until the following day. My husband took Walter to My Family's Pet Doctor. Conveniently for us, they had a cancellation that morning and were able to get him in right away. We're not doctors, and we are especially not veterinary doctors. But we stupidly assumed he would be getting a few stitches under local anesthesia. Welp, as it turns out, we were dumb, this wasn't how it was done. It was done using general anesthesia. Walter received 8 stitches along with a thorough cleaning & inspection of the wound. We were sent home with pain meds & antibiotics. I removed Walter's stitches 12 days later and the would looks beautiful. There were no complications & we had no concern about infection at any time. The entire process was just under $500. And while this is a lot of money I feel it was more than fair & was honestly expecting it to cost more. In general, veterinarians & veterinary staff are woefully underpaid for their level of education and the amount of emotional & mental stress they are subjected to on a daily basis. We don't have pet insurance but hopefully at some point it becomes mainstream so that the people that care for our animals can be compensated more appropriately without it feeling like a "racket" to pet parents. Anyways, we appreciate Dr. Katie Sowell and her team so much for getting our dumb pooch stitched back up. He's back to his handsome old self.

The I checked pricing for veterinary services from Hood River to The Dalles. The results were from around $400 to over $600 PER CAT; except My Family's Pet Doctor which was less expensive. I made an appointment for the female and caught her and also brought the less aggressive of the two males (company for her), took them to her appointment and after talking to the receptionist, asked if they could possibly fit him in too. Mainly because his procedure was simpler (and they are all such incredibly nice people), they fit him in! All of the staff are very caring and wonderful! Both kittens have tamed down remarkably and are now still together and doing well in a new home. I still have a barn cat (intact) . . . very friendly as long as it's on his own terms! I am so grateful to the staff at MFPD for their care, efficiency and kindness! -

Afterwards he was prancing around in his new doo and looked absolutely darling! Tonight I gave him a bath for the 1st time since he was groomed, and he was so well behaved! At home, he usually tries to jump out of the tub and he doesn't love when I blow dry his fur. They taught him that bath time is fun, which I am so thankful for! I know that my pup was in such great hands and we will be coming back. Awesome groomers!

However, this week, my husband picked our dog up after her grooming, and her butt was not nearly as pristine as usual, her feet weren't groomed (hair trimmed) and her nails went clipped. He didn't realize all of this when he picked her up (men!)...but I instantly saw it when he brought her home. No biggie, we get that things happen; maybe someone just forgot. But what really IRRITATES me is that we have called 4x now, leaving messages to get her back in and fixed up and NO ONE RETURNS THE CALL. Things changed when they built a fancy new building of their own on the river, and now it seems to be mostly a monetary focus. My friend is furious that they "let her dog die" and I had my own bad experience when I brought my own dog in for evaluation on a suspected airway obstruction. Instead of looking at the airway obstruction, they ran over $400 in various blood tests-including pancreas for some damn reason! When it came time to address the airway obstruction, they said they don't have the specialized equipment- which is the whole reason I brought her in. We live in the Columbia River Gorge, and this is a semi-rural vet hospital, and they don't have the expensive equipment to diagnose a simple grass seed (which can be deadly). When I asked why they don't have the equipment I was told they just can't afford it, and nobody there is trained to operate it anyway. I told them I thought it would be a good idea to get this because grass seed problems are very very common around here. Apparently the nurse didn't like my audacity to suggest what I would like to see in a vet, and had the owner call me back and tell me off for 10 minutes, then tell me to come and pick up my sick dog - that they would not treat it. Wow. Just kicked a sick animal to the street. They were very careful to hold my pet back until I paid. Imagine, kicking someone out of your practice and expecting payment! But it showed me their priorities and that they do this OFTEN. I understand owners are upset when their pets become sick, and I wish they would also, and show a little compassion. Nope- out the door with you! Update: She was taken to another vet, who quickly noticed a swollen neck, so they put her under anesthesia and checked out her airways- what I wanted Columbia to do! They found no obstruction, but he as a type at inflammatory laryngitis cats get, and an experienced vet would know about. Treating with cortisol. I really feel like Columbia run all those vague tests to run up bills, and they started doing that when they moved into their new fancy building. It's so transparent. The young vets just starting out have no idea.

They were both very happy to see us come back, of course, but seemed to be just fine. Both my dogs have spent much of their lives in daycare/boarding/dog parks/socialization of some type just to ensure they get their energy out. If you have a GSD- you know what I'm talking about! As I dropped off my two girls I took my senior (10 y.o.) in first and brought their food and supplies inside. She was taken immediately to the back while I got my younger girl (2 y.o. Puppy). The woman working the front desk comments on my younger dogs hyperactivity with a "I can tell this one will be difficult"- I remind her that she is a working breed puppy and is very excited to be somewhere new. It came across as rude to me, but I let it go. Online we booked the king deluxe suites stay for our girls. I read online they got a "minimum of 4 twenty minute stretch and potty breaks". If you want socialization for your dog you have to pay extra for that? My husband and I travel for work, and we have been all over the United States as a result. I have NEVER been to a pet facility that charges for socialization/play time, so we ordered some for each dog throughout their stay. You have no way of knowing if they got that play time. There is no live stream of the facility and I was never taken back to see where my girls were staying, another first. I also asked for photo updates or text updates of my girls while we were gone for 7 days/6 nights- I got one call and was told she would email photos of their Christmas party. I received an email but not picture was included. Additionally, their website mentions an "Eagle Caves Pet Resort Report Card" when I asked for the report card the front desk receptionist acted as though she had no clue as to what I was referring. When I showed her the website she said "Oh we've never done that". As far as pet care goes, this place does the job. Regarding customer service and professionalism, it could use some work. Attached you will find Greg's original response to my 4 star google review, then his updated response including name calling a former client.
