I can not give Preview Properties a high enough rating. I have moved many times in the past couple of years and have had my fair share of horror stories when it comes to realtors. This time was SO different and I can not be more grateful. I visited the office in total probably around four or five times. Each time I went there every staff member was friendly and inviting, offering me a coffee or water and making me feel comfortable. The location was always clean and professional looking which I appreciated as well. Although the office was great, what made my experience incredible was my realtor Jeff Colantuoni. Upon meeting Jeff for my first apartment showing I immediately noted how professional he was. He was prepared with a super helpful chart he printed out with addresses, prices, and amenities included on each apartment we would be seeing that day. He also left spaces for my own notes on each apartment because it can get confusing when you're viewing multiple similar apartments in one evening. When we were viewing the apartments while Jeff was helpful with information when I had questions he was neither aggressive nor pushy. That is the MOST important thing to me when looking for a new place to live. I want to make my own decision and not be pushed into something by an over eager realtor. Jeff understands that completely. He was focused on finding my roommates and I the best apartment to fit all of our needs, not on making a sale just to get commission. I was so comfortable with him and didn't feel nervous to let him know exactly what I was looking for. The best thing about Jeff is that he did not give up. My roommates and I had very specific needs as to location, price, parking, distance from the t, you name it!!! He took on the challenge. He searched his database what seemed like nightly to try and find the perfect apartment .... And he did! We found our dream apartment with Jeff. Perfect location, parking included, in our price range, and a gorgeous layout! I didn't think we would find such an updated, clean, perfect place in Brighton but we did! Clearly, I couldn't be happier. I doubt I will be moving again shortly, but if I do, I know Jeff will be the ONLY realtor I use. My three roommates and I are all starting law school this fall and are all coming from out of state. So needless to say, that made finding an apartment a little tricky. Luckily for us, after searching online for a little I had contacted Jeff Colantuoni about one of his listings. That one didn't work out, but he took the time to really figure out exactly what we were looking for so he could find more options for us to look at. We quickly learned that we were going to have to do a site-unseen because the market moved too fast for us to get to Boston and take a look at the places. Jeff was great in understanding our situation and actually even went to take videos of two apartments so we could get a good look at them. Doing a site-unseen gets complicated with having to sign documents online and sending in the checks with overnight shipping, but Jeff made sure everything moved smoothly so we got our eventual apartment. During the search process there was also some disagreement that arose between all of my roommates on whether we should wait to hopefully find an apartment closer to the law school. Jeff talked with me on the phone at 8pm for an hour to completely explain his reasoning behind why he thought the places he had shown us were going to be as close as we were going to get. He then texted me later at 10pm because he thought he found an apartment that was too good to be true and thought we should jump on it right then (sadly, it was). The guy will definitely work to earn his required realtor fee! He also talked to my other roommates who still needed convincing that we were not going to find a closer apartment which helped us reach a consensus among the group. The entire time Jeff seemed to have a very honest, no BS attitude which was really appreciated when trying to find an apartment without actually being there. I would definitely recommend him if you are trying to find a new place in the Boston area. Right now he's attempting to see if the landlord will put a dishwasher in the unit and whether it's possible for us to move in early. Hopefully he gets back to me with good news! read more

I am writing this review for one reason and one reason only. The SINGLE BEST renting experience of my life. I have been renting apartments in the Boston area for the past 5 years. Each and every year has been filled with challeneges and with hoops. This year was no different until I stupbled onto an apartment posting by Todd. We called him, within ten minutes he had us booked for an appointment to see 2 different places (within our price range) and he was friendly as can be. He showed us both places and when we decided on one, we immediately went back to his office and signed the paper work. Unfortunately the apartment we wanted was rented minutes prior to us getting our paper work in. BUT within minutes he had another apartment to show us that was equally as beautiful. All our paper work went through without a hitch. When it came time to sign the lease, the check we had given Todd had bounced due to a miscommunication. Although it was not anyones fault, Todd immediately volunteered to help us out by paying for the overdraft fee. I have NEVER heard of such a practice but he went above and beyond. Then as a final fairwell, he convinced the landlord to give me 2 months to come up with the remaining balance for the apartment becuase he knew I was having a little bit of money issues. He went WAY WAY WAY above and beyond anything I ever could have asked for. I would whole heartedly give ANYONE a reccomendation to see him if you want a truely compassionate and caring realator. As a side note, Todd also is opening up a website that people can go to and give their oppinions about their former lanlords so people will know exactly what they are in for before they even move into a place. I often HATE salespeople. Car salesman, Insurance salesman, and after the last few years, especially the real estate agent. This all being said I have never been more impressed with a salesperson or any client service job than with Noel Joseph at Preview Properties. I am by no means an easy sell and this time was no different. I went through 3 different companies and saw over 15 apartments and was growing frustrated because they either were incredibly rude, pushy, sleazy, or just plain mean with bad listings before I called Noel. Immediately from the phone call alone I could tell this was going to be a different experience. Over the next month, he was EXTREMELY patient with me, never once tried to push me into an apartment and showed me literally over 20 places himself over 3 appointments. What i appreciated most was that when we saw a place that wasn't that nice he didn't try to say "Oh man this place is really nice!" like some other agents did but as soon as he could tell I was over it he would be honest and joke "hmm, this place kinda sucks, I've seen enough have you? Ok! On to the next apartment then" Very good sense of humor, straight forward, intelligent, honest and above all very very patient, polite and professional. The other agents in the office seemed equally helpful even when I came to my contract signing. I love my apartment and everyone who comes into it is impressed at the deal I got, I've already referred Noel to another friend whom he found a great place for. I recommend that anyone looking for allston/brighton/brookline look no further than Preview Properties and ask for Noel, without a doubt the best realty office hands down in the area! read more

I met Cody Miller through a listing and could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the quality of service. Previous to Preview Properties, I had contacted almost twenty other agencies and private agents with very little luck (most wouldn't give me the time of day). Cody was quick to reply to my inquires with a pleasant and professional tone. Where others merely replied to my questions about certain listings, Cody sent me a full list of potential apartments I could tour based around the qualities I liked from the original listings. He was extremely flexible and accommodating when it came to showings. Just as I was about to sign the lease, two of my potential room mates changed their plans. Because of this, we needed to drop a bedroom and start our search from scratch. Cody was hugely supportive despite the many frustrations and time constraints this situation presented. I felt comfortable and confident as Cody tailored his style to best fit my girlfriend and I's needs. As we are both out of the area, those needs were not always easy to meet. I can not thank him enough for all the work that went into finding us the perfect place! The listing we ended up choosing was so recent, pictures hadn't even been posted yet! My boyfriend and I went through craigslist to find some one bedroom apartments. We got jerked around by a realtor that on craigslist claimed to be no fee and then turned out to be full fee. When we found some apartments we liked from Preview, everything that they advertised was entirely true. We were contacted right away by Charles Tapsell who was ready with a list of apartments that met our needs and desires. I'll never go through craigslist again. I'll go straight to Preview Properties. Charles was an incredibly knowledgeable and sincere guy and we had a great, relaxed time to looking at apartments with him. He was in constant contact with us and we never had to wait for a phone call or email. He was always available when we had questions or concerns. When we found the apartment that we wanted he made the process simple and straightforward for getting things together. He really convinced me that they are the place to go. The second we stepped in the door everybody was ready to help us. I have recommended Charles and Preview to all of my friends and will continue to do so. Last time we rented an apartment through a different realtor we got to the front door and the key didn't work. Charles came with us and checked all the keys and brought us up to the apartment to ensure we could get in and everything was well. This was by far our best rental experience. I hate realty companies and in general realtors. Jeff C. surprised me and my girlfriend, thankfully. We had a very good (read:strict) idea and set of criteria of what we wanted in a place and she can be hard to please if the realtor doesn't get back to her asap or they show us places that clearly do not fit our criteria (location, dishwasher, yard, laundry, etc). Pissed off girlfriend equals pissed off boyfriend. Luckily Jeff didn't play any games with us. He was straight forward and honest from the get go. He actually even made deals with landlords when it came down to something like a move in date or a dishwasher that wasn't there that we wanted l. I've honestly never seen anything like it. We were both highly highly impressed. Just last night we were telling our upstairs neighbors what a great experience we had with Jeff at Preview and they asked for his card- so we gave them one in case they are ever looking to move again. It's pretty simple: if you want a realtor who isn't going to play games and will be honest from the get go and work his ASS off to get you exactly the place you want (which he did- our place is perfect) then I highly recommend Jeff from Preview Properties. After dealing with some of the most unprofessional people/about half a dozen of Boston's surrounding agencies and seeing some places that made living out of my car in Boston not only a viable option but unbelievably appealing, we finally came across Preview Properties with agent Christophe P. We had "diva" (coming from two man-children) requests, (4bed/2Ba/dog/parking for July). The moment many agents heard "July" we were either shown September 1st places or they stopped responding to us like we were the plague. Christophe made the process informative, explaining the areas quite well, (major plus, as driving around unfamiliar areas with someone you initially found on Craigslist can be a bit anxiety provoking...) , and had five places within our price range that fulfilled all of our requests that he was able to show us the very next day. We never got pushy "I showed this place to fifteen people in the last 3 weeks and they are all very interested and will most likely sign tomorrow!" comments, but professional follow-up emails and quick answers about the places we had seen. We were very lucky to have Michael Langone as our realtor, who made sure to actually think about what we were looking for and show us a great variety of apartments. After missing out on an apartment that we really wanted, we decided to hold off for a little while to see what else might open up. Michael was so considerate that he emailed us a couple times - not pushy at all - he just wanted to help us when we were ready. It was nice to know that he was thinking about our needs the whole time. When we were ready, he was able to get us a place in the same building we wanted before! All-in-all, Michael and the whole staff are very friendly and made us feel like we were important to them - something every company should employ. I had recently transferred jobs from the North Shore to Downtown Boston, knowing very little about the city and surrounding areas, and needed to find a place fast. A friend recommended Mike, at Preview Properties, and said he was outstanding for getting exactly what you ask for. I'll be the first to admit I'm quite the princess--so I was nervous about unloading my list of requirements and expectations of my future apartment onto Mike's plate. Let me tell you that 5 stars is just not enough for Matt from Preview properties. Thorough professional, very prompt, helpful, extremely (I mean, EXTREEEEEEEEMELY) patient. But above all, he is a great person to work with and know. He showed us some very good apartments. He even showed some apartments twice when we were unable to decide between couple of them. He understood what our requirements were and showed apartments that met these requirements in our price range. He also sent us a list of apartments and asked us to choose which ones we'd like to take a look. They have a lot of listings available on their website and the website is pretty helpful too; especially if you are looking to find something close to the T. One thing I liked the most about Preview Properties in general is that when you go out to look at apartments, they give you a printout of the listing name and its features. There is place for you to take notes as you go visit each place. They are genuinely interested in helping you find an apartment and not just trying to make money. After searching for 2 weeks my roommates were completely fed up with the process. About to throw in the towel we called Preview Properties after viewing one of their ads on craigslist and spoke with an agent there named Shaun. While Shaun was very helpful and professional on the phone, asking us, what we felt, were all the right questions. We were still skeptical, we had been through several bad appointments already. Upon going out with Shaun we knew after the 3rd apartment we'd seen that we were in luck. 1) The apartments were WAY better then anything we'd seen.and Shaun actually listened to what we wanted. We didn't see anything out of our price range and every place had a porch, our one "must have" 2) Shaun was actually really cool, not pushy at all. Non of the "better hurry this will go quick" tactics the other agencies used. 3) We loved 4 of the 5 places we saw and Shaun helped us get a redicoulous deal on our 1st choice,. Had a great experience with the Brighton office. Worked with Jordy - really easy going not pushy and got that sense from most the others in the office I spoke with. They didn't try to force anything on me... I was looking for a 3 person place to move in for Sept 1st. Gave the price range, what my roommates and I were looking for and they made it pretty simple. Working with Jordy was good - he just gave honest opinions about places, told us what the deal was and let us walk around and make our own decisions. I have worked with 3 different companies now and the other two I left feeling like I had been worked by a car salesmen and I wasn't comfortable. I ended up getting a place through Preview and Jordy made doing all the paperwork and getting the payments in very easy... considering we made it hard by having to come back like 3 or 4 times to get him all the checks we needed because we didn't bring our checkbooks. BEST AGENCY! I've had such a great experience with Preview Properties I had to write a review. I was referred to them by a bunch of my co-workers. Super knowledgeable! TONS of listings to show! Lease transactions simple as possible! they are experts in the Brighton, Alston, Brookline areas. I loved my apartment in Brighton!! The manager of the office, Mike D., helped me find my last apartment, and is currently helping me purchase my first condo. Everyone was super friendly, and the girl at the front is a gem! I work 60 hrs a week and really appreciate an agency with integrity, knowledge of their field, (and I know its not important, but nice too look at too ;) Again, I used Mike D. for my apartment, and my current condo search because I felt he was advocating for me, really knows what he is doing, and is super efficient. If you need a realtor, go with Nadia at Preview Properties I cannot begin to describe how helpful Nadia was during the whole process. I was looking for a place with initially 3 other people, which then got up'd to 4 people. We had ridiculous budget, amenity, and location requests, as well stupidly mismatched schedules that required her to take groups of 2 or 3 at different times to see the same place. Despite us constantly changing things and probably being the lamest clients she ever had, Nadia stuck with us and I am so happy of where she helped get us in to. I had dealt with a few other realtors before her, dealt with poorly written messages and unprofessional conduct. Nadia is none of that. She was quick to respond, flexible with her schedule, and always super responsive to our requests. Earl is a fantastic realtor. Within minutes of walking into the office (without an appointment) he showed me an apartment that was exactly what I was looking for - the right size, location, and price. He was very nice and laid back - not pushy at all. After I signed the lease, I made things complicated for Earl by needing to change my move-in date, and he was on top of things every step of the way and always responded to my calls. He even went above and beyond and helped me out of a sticky situation when some packages ended up being delivered to the apartment before my move-in date. Everyone in the office is also very nice, and I have friends who have used them before and been equally successful. There are so many realtors in Boston that it is difficult to know where to start, but I have worked with many of them and would definitely recommend Earl and Preview Properties to anyone who is searching. read more

My boyfriend and I recently worked with John Langone and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He responded quickly to my email request to view an apartment and within days, he had scheduled 7-8 apartments to look at that all met our criteria. After seeing all but one, we were getting a bit worried that we didn't see anything we loved but the last apartment was perfect! We knew immediately we wanted it. John went to work to make sure this apartment would be ours. He kept very close email contact (which is a plus for a Blackberry addict like me) and dealt with our soon-to-be landlord who was a bit picky about all the requirements of his future tenants. Within a week, we signed the lease. We move to our new place in September and we couldn't be happier! Every place we went into, he gave us as much information as he had prior to viewing, letting us know any positive or negative aspects about the listing (which in my years of looking for apartments in the Allston/Brighton area, I know is a rare quality in a realtor).
