Saw him last month to check up my throat. I felt something near my throat and super worried and decided to get check up with specialist. It was the first time there and he made sure there was nothing to be concerned about. I was fine. Just fighting with cold for a month gave me little swollen around my throat. He did not even charge me for all those exams he did because there was nothing wrong with my throat. What a amazing sprit I have not experienced for a very long time. Overall staffs in his office were super efficient and nice as well. And I am recommending him to everyone who need to see nose and throat specialist. 5 stars.

My kids have always loved him because he gets to know the family, and is the most trustworthy doctor. Dr. Pisk talks to and with us, he is mindful, compassionate empathetic, sympathetic and has a good sense of humor. Dr. Pisk is doctor whose opinion we all value, he is a must have doctor who cares about his patients well-being. The front desk staff/ladies are wonderful from the time we enter until the time we leave. The ladies are welcoming, always on top of referrals, appointments, reminders, and they always call you back if need be. Oh and I need to say this also, they have a 24hr service/ on-call that has has a Nurse Practioner/ or Dr. Pisk himself that calls you back even after regular business hours. My kids refer to him as the TOP TIER DOCTOR. See for yourself!!

The conversations always feel collaborative and two-way, which I really appreciate. There are many situations in healthcare where you can feel rushed or like your concerns aren't fully heard, but that has never been the case here. Every visit feels thoughtful, engaged, and genuinely focused on what you're saying. Another aspect in which this practice stands out is its ability to help patients navigate the larger system. Dr. Zhang has been very helpful with referrals and specialists, and in handling the complexities of working within Penn and insurance networks. In simple terms, he makes processes that could feel complicated much easier to manage. Communication outside of appointments has been excellent as well. Dr. Zhang responds through the Penn portal, provides timely and clear updates on labs and test results, and the app itself makes it easy to manage prescriptions and ask questions. It all adds a layer of convenience and peace of mind that's hard to overstate. The South Street location is a major plus for anyone in Center City. It's easy to get appointments quickly, and having additional services like imaging in the same building makes it feel like a convenient, comprehensive care destination without the chaos of a large hospital campus like HUP or Penn Presbyterian. I understand Dr. Zhang will be leaving in the coming months, which is disappointing as a patient, but I'm genuinely happy for him. He's an excellent doctor and deserves a great next chapter. I couldn't believe this considering it was 5 minutes with an NP for a very straight forward sore throat. Turns out this place intentionally over inflates the amount of time they spend with patients in their notes so that they can charge for an extra long 40 minute appointment. I spent a month trying to dispute this insane bill, but it turns out they can run up whatever nonsense charges they want and there is nothing you can do about it after the fact. This place completely takes advantage of patients, and I will never go back.

One great thing that I love about a small family doctor's office is the ability to actually get the doctor on the phone when you need to. I haven't always been able to speak to him when I call, but he always returns my calls that day. My boyfriend goes to a doctor in Center City that is affiliated with one of the hospitals. He is never able to get his doctor on the phone and waits days to hear a reply. I like the personal relationship you can have with a smaller office. When I'm sick, I'm always able to get an appointment that day or the next morning which is amazing compared to some of the other offices I've been to. The only down side is that since it is a one doctor establishment, they do not have evening hours and they close early on certain days of the week. Besides that, Dr. Mangel and his staff are wonderful and you should definitely give them a call if you are looking for a new doctor!

I've been trying to get a simple form filled out for my employment onboarding and after nearly a month of calling and messaging nearly every day, I still haven't received it. Despite repeatedly explaining that this form is required for me to begin work, every time I call I'm told they'll "send a message" to the person responsible. Nothing ever happens after that, absolutely no updates, no follow-through, and no sense of consideration. As someone who has worked in healthcare, I would never put a patient through this. The lack of communication and basic respect from the office staff has been frustrating and honestly unacceptable. It's a shame, because the clinical care was excellent, but the administrative side is severely lacking.
