They rarely return phone calls. Physician: Dr. Waters no longer sees my family member, she passed my family member off to a Nurse Practitioner, the NP is professional and friendly and so far I haven't had any issues with her care, but she isn't a MD. Office: Office is not too small and nothing special. The last time I went inside the television was off? I'm not sure if they had enough money to purchase Netflix, Hulu or Cable? Parking: Parking area is sufficient, but the office has moved into an area that is not as nice as her previous office. Additional: Dr. Water's office nickels and dimes the patients now. I'm not sure if it's because she's hurting financially (see TV comment above) or what the reason is, but my family member went to a scheduled appointment and asked them to fill out a form for work; they wanted to charge an extra $25 fee to fill out a paper for her job. That should be part of the office visit. I consider that unacceptable and very poor customer service. This medical office has gone from being one of the best in Atlanta to being just like all the others, not very good. Summary: Overall, because it's almost impossible to get anyone on the phone or get return phone calls, because they want to nickel and dime you for every single thing and because they have to send patients out for many things now, I would definitely not suggest Dr. Waters anymore. Perhaps if she addresses these problems and returns to the way she did business before I would change my review, but as of now I can't recommend her to anyone. Pros: 1. Let me just say thank God they didn't have the "you-can't-see-a- different-physician-in-our-practice" policy like another medical practice I used to go to. Both Dr Moore-Waters and Dr. D'Souza are great doctors, hands down!! Absolutely no complaints there. Very thorough, friendly and very informative. It's hard to find great physicians like them these days. Now here comes the minor negative.....and I really mean minor negative.... No x-ray facility so if you needed a chest or spinal x-ray, you'd have to trek to Dekalb Medical Center. The clerical staff seemed absent minded at times. I'd call to ask a question and get transferred around sometimes. It wasn't a constant thing but it certainly happened here and there and was frustrating. Now here is why I've taken a one star deduction. I called to make an appointment last month and not only was I informed Dr. D'Souza was no longer with the practice but I was also informed the practice had moved to Tucker, GA. I was shocked because I wasn't notified about any of this and really felt left out in the cold. At this point I feel like I'm at a crossroads. Tucker is not terribly far but I feel like the carpet has been pulled out from under me. I have more questions than answers and I'm not sure what has happened because Dr. Moore-Waters hadn't been at that particular location very long. For years she was next door to Ace Hardware on Scott Blvd but none the less, she's been in Decatur for years. Dr. Grossman is thorough, spends time answering questions, sharing information, referrals as needed, meeting all-of-my-needs. My previous MD never did a Medicare wellness check/exam; had to get it done at GYN, along with other issues including staff's lack of warmth. I was not very comfortable there. Now Dr. Grossman & her staff take care of everything!! Responds in a timely manner and her staff has been very gracious, friendly, warm, everything (even when I am overwhelmed, overloaded & stressed) and understanding of my aging issues :-). I could not be more pleased.

However, the front office staff and office policies have not been a good experience. I recently moved out of state and attempted to access my records via the patient portal and could not access them. Per an email request, I received a phone call saying I could complete a form for my new physician (I've already done this) and if I wanted my records I could PAY A FEE for them to be provided via CD. I have two overwhelming concerns: 1) I and/or my insurance company have paid through the nose for medical care for the past 8 years; and 2) who uses CDs anymore-- new computers don't come with a CD drive! What century are you in? Everything is cloud-based now and precisely why I should be able to access my records via the portal. As an example, I can access my Emory and Mayo Clinic records today (some are over 2 decades old and others over a decade old). This is a terrible business practice and nothing but a MONEY MAKER for this practice. I'm hugely disappointed in this nonsensical practice. And, I would also be concerned about a medical office SNAIL MAILING private, medical records. Isn't this a HIPAA privacy concern?

In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

Dr. Smiddy spent more than 30 minutes, one on one, going over my medical history and was steadfast in his pursuit of details regarding my health. He's also a bit of a rare find in that he possesses a very keen sense of listening. Furthermore, while the results of my bloodwork were good and unloaded into the patient's portal the following morning, Dr. Smiddy had an associate call me just to reassure me that everything was fine, which is a courtesy I've not experienced since patient records were put online. Highly recommended.

When requesting any help with medication refills over the phone, they will read a script to contact the pharmacy again to have them send over the request to get the refill and not allow you to speak to a nurse or doctor. We had such a fantastic experience with this pediatrician! We have seen over 8 different…read morepediatricians in our daughter's lifetime at 6 different offices, and this was truly the best experience we've had so far. Parking is very easy. Every time we called we got through to someone right away, and they were really helpful dealing with organizing and retrieving our child's medical records from the 6 different offices. We didn't wait very long in the waiting room or the patient room to see the doctor. We saw Dr. Kaamilah Barnett, and it was honestly an amazing appointment. I am a Physician Assistant, so I am familiar with what makes a great/good/bad clinician and how a pediatrician should be and what to watch for. As such, I am always anxious for these appointments because our daughter has had a few rare health issues with which some doctors aren't familiar. Dr. Barnett was truly so nice, so knowledgable, and so professional. I was beyond impressed. She took so much time to speak with us and was in no rush at all. By the end of the appointment all my anxiety was gone and I felt so relieved. She talked about all our concerns and was clearly very knowledgable. My only complaint is that our daughter has had concerns with her height/growth and her height was not measured carefully. This is likely due to the fact that the assistant staff who does intake measurements is not briefed on the pt's history beforehand, and the standard practice is to do a very sloppy measurement. I do wish this had been double checked and redone to make sure we had the most accurate measurement. To find a physician like Dr. Barnett for your child is one of the greatest blessings you can ask for. We are so thankful to have found this office! I don't see us every taking our child anywhere else.

We've only been to the office a hand full of times during the last decade..Thank God my daughter is prettty healthy...but the last time was the most memorable! About 6 years ago, the flu was going around and I suspected my daughter had it. I brought my daughter in, and to my surprise was serviced my Dr. Flowers! Sounds odd for someone to say they never saw they're child's primary physician before...but you have to understand that Dr. Flowers (was/maybe still is) the Pediatric doctor that is on Fox 5 news. So in the mornings she may be at the news station and this particular day, we went to the office late afternoon. The first thing she said to the few of us in the waiting room was, "Does anyone in here have the flu?" And I said that I believed my daughter had flu-like symptoms. Welp..next thing you know, WE HAD OUR 15 MINUTES OF FAME HONEY! They aired us on the news (which to date, I've never seen). My daughter's friends and their parents saw it and even my Aunt in NJ told me that they aired the segment on Fox there! LOL I guess now you want a review of the place huh? Well...we've had nothing but good experiences at this place but once I really got a chance to meet Dr. Flowers, I have to say that I really only want to see her. I felt like she spoke to me as if she was my mother. She's such a warm, kind-hearted person. Don't get me wrong, should my daughter need an unplanned visit...any doctor will do, they've all been great. My daughter will be turning 18, the first of the year...does that mean no more Dr. Flowers? (sigh)

They are also terrible about returning phone calls. In addition their billing department is terrible. I paid a co-pay for a visit and found out that my insurance paid 100% and had to fight with the office to get my co-pay back. The staff in the accounts department were ALL rude. It seems like most of the staff here are interested in gossiping, laughing, and acting hood instead of attending to their job and patients. I will say the doctors are very nice. However, on my child's first visit it took nearly 3 hours. For two of those hours they had us waiting around. The office seems very disorganized and could probably improve with better office management and a new office staff.
