My daughter has attended Pride Martial Arts for 7 years and I couldn't have made a better decision, the goal was for her to learn to defend herself, it was a great surprise to learn that martial arts are not just for that, they are a way of life, it teaches them discipline, honesty, perseverance, camaraderie, commitment and plants in them the seed of wanting more knowledge, the way Grand Master Ron divides the classes by age to make it easier for students to learn the different dynamics according to their abilities and the way he instructs his students to cooperate with each other make this school a place with a safe environment in which they learn not only martial arts but respect for everything and everyone. I would recommend Pride Martial Arts to any parent who wants their kid to start martial arts. I have been a student for 7 years now, and Grandmaster Ron got a new facility 2 years ago. The place is always very clean, and Grandmaster Ron promotes keeping the environment clean. The environment in the dojang is always welcoming with the secretary, Mrs. Cassandra, greeting everyone when they come through the door. Also, again, the place is always very clean. In the dojang, every student always learns to be better physically and mentally. Each class is a different age group, so if a five-year-old joins, they're not going to train with an eleven-year-old. The training helps the students push themselves to get through it, but not so much that it discourages them. The training also teaches them how to have perseverance, discipline, courage, and resilience. Grandmaster Ron also has people to help him. Master Seif has been leading the classes during the weeks that Grandmaster Ron couldn't attend. He has been doing a great job of helping the kids improve just like Grandmaster Ron does. Instructor Cam and the STORM team have also been there to help with the classes. Everyone has been very welcoming with each new student hopping onto the clean mat. Our son has been with Pride Martial Arts for almost 14 months now. We initially signed him up because we were having a lot of behavioral problems with him (not listening, doing what he wanted, complete lack of body control, lack of focus, etc). We heard that martial arts can really help with focus and discipline, among other things. He never had an interest in martial arts, but we needed help with him as an individual. Grandmaster Ron, Master Seif and Master Alex are wonderful mentors and teachers. Instructor Cam is amazing as well. He takes the time to demonstrate the exercises and also helps the kids individually if they are struggling. Mrs. Cassandra is, in my opinion, the glue that holds everything together. Everyone works really hard to keep Pride running smoothly. We have seen great progress with our son since he started at Pride. He still has his moments, but Pride has really helped in shaping him into the person he is now. We've even signed him up for their HYPER class. The kids get to learn the art of using weapons along with their training! My son is the youngest in the class, but everyone is so welcoming and supportive of each other. I have been involved in Martial Arts since I was a child. So, I was excited to know my youngest son wanted to pursue this himself. As I looked for a school for him to study, I was blessed to find Master Ron and his instuctors at Pride! My son studies Judo and Tae Kwon do both here. He is also on the weapons and sparring team. Pride is a amazing family environment where kids and adults , they build​ on character and morals as well as the athletic and competitive skills of the Arts. The studio is well organized and offers not only classes for all developmental age groups from toddler to Adults in Judo and Tae Kwon Do, but cardio kick boxing and MMA as well if you really want to break a sweat! The skills learned here carry over into other sports and the character carries over to the performance in school as well. When we joined Pride, I feel like we've become a part of a big family. Pride also offers amazing extras like holiday events, kids birthday parties, and parents night out, where parents can drop off the kids on a Friday for a kid Martial Arts party while parents get a night out for dinner! Since the first day of class, Pride Martial Arts has been a great motivational incentive to have my son and I myself to get out of the daily routine to work out, have fun and build power and discipline, not to mention release stress TOGETHER. Master Ron is excellent with the children, as well as with the adults. He is very patient in making sure we learn the martial arts the safe and right way. My 7 year old loves Master Ron and calls him "awesome." Right now we are both working to get our white belts and since we, both my son and I started at the same time, it makes for a great bonding time together and as we practice to get our belts t it is a great way to get motivated and form a mother/son bond that I have always been looking for. The Gym is excellent and a great place to practice and learn, as well as the location where Pride Martial Arts is located in, makes for a great meditation area, great landscape and peaceful. Master Ron is one of the most sincere people I've met. His passion for his art is most obvious when you see the time and dedication he gives to the little kids. This dojang is one of community and camaraderie, it's not just what the students learn in the class that's important but the bonds they build outside of the class. I've never seen a martial arts school with the dedication towards it's students that Pride MA of New Lenox has. We've only been going for a short time and yet my children have been to numerous events held at the school. On top of this, my children have also seen the benefits of hard work both on their practice of the art but also on home and school activities. After trying all of the Tae Kwon Do schools in the Lincoln Way area, we've finally found our home at Pride! I cannot say enough good things about Master Ron and this dojang. Master Ron teaches all of the classes himself, from the little kiddos on up to the adults and the instruction is top notch. He keeps his students on task and practicing to the best of their ability, but still manages to make sure everyone is safe, has a positive attitude, and is having fun. The facilities are well equipped and spotless. I especially appreciate that the cost of class is reasonable and upfront and doesn't require a contract. All of the families at Pride also enjoy family events like Christmas parties, Easter egg hunts, Parents' Night Out, and BBQs at no additional charge. My grandson has been attending Pride for over 6 months now and I can't say enough good things about the way Master Ron works with the kids. After a year, we love it more every day. Master Ron and Master Branden encourage the kids with positive reinforcement, kindness, and a sense of humor. My son loves going to Master Ron's Taekwondo class! It's a positive, welcoming environment. My two girls and husband take Judo at Pride and my three year old son does cubby Tai Kwon Do. We absolutely love Pride, and Master Ron is a fantastic teacher. A little over a year ago we were looking for a place for our two boys to continue the judo training they had begun before we moved. I can't express how grateful that we are that the found Pride. I love Pride. We started with my 13-year-old taking martial arts classes. Everything he learned at Pride has made noticeable changes in his attitude, motivation, and demeanor. Our 8 year old daughter joined Pride one year ago because she wanted to be a "ninja kid."
