Disorganized & Frustrating Cancellation Process…read more I signed up in May for a $89/month membership after taking a free class. Unfortunately, I never made it back, so I submitted a cancellation request through their app about two months later. That's where everything went downhill. I received a vague one-line email saying my request was "initiated" but needed more information. I replied multiple times asking what was needed--no response. I called, left voicemails, and sent several text messages over the course of months. Still nothing. Meanwhile, I continued to be charged for August and September despite actively trying to cancel. I eventually had to stop payment through my bank. Even after that, I kept reaching out about using the credits I had already paid for. Every time, I was told "Rich will call you back." It took two more months to finally speak with him. Then I was told I only had 30 days post-cancellation to use my credits--something that was never disclosed when I signed up or during my attempts to cancel. Even worse, I was told the only way to use the credits I already paid for was to reactivate my membership and start paying again. To top it off, I found out my account had been sent to collections with no prior notice. This entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and completely avoidable with proper communication. Make sure you fully understand their cancellation policies--and get everything in writing--before signing up.

There might be other boxing classes that are more beginner friendly and more adept at catering to beginner skill sets. Ramy took time with each lesson, and each attendee and wasn't just amazing in his practical approach to self defense, he worked with each person in the class and heard their stories of how they had been targeted, listening and providing matter of fact advice. What was crucial was at the same time as the practical self defense, the owner was incredibly emotionally present and able to somehow empower the folks who had previously been attacked or targeted, simply by being empathetic. This is a coach and staff who truly care about their students mental health and safety.

The place is filthy, most of the members kids or adults will need to learn a lot on their own by attending other gyms. This gym only teaches very limited amount of moves and give very little attention to the students. Other gyms close by are way better options.

Not what I expected…read more Hours are wrong on Yelp, it's only open about 3-4 hours in the AM and sometimes a few at night. My 2nd shift work schedule meant I'd have to lose sleep to train here. For Boxing specifically, there's 3 1 hour classes per week, and it didn't seem like anything more involved than "calling out combinations" or sometimes a footwork drill. This is fine as a boxing workout but you can do that at any gym with a heavy bag for less than the $120/month here. Place is varying degrees of dirty/smelly, with no running/potable water, hope you brought your own. Gloves/equipment strewn all about the floor. You'll feel like you immediately want to wash everything you were wearing in case it picked up too much dust in there. If your availability matches up to theirs and you're interested in MMA/BJJ, maybe it's a 3 star. But it's a fitness gym, not a training gym. To learn boxing, there's other options.
