We have had Travelers Insurance for our home, autos, and rentals for 15 years. Always paid premium…read morein full and on time or early. Over 15 years we had a total of two claims. One was a homeowner claim for a dishwasher leak that damaged our floors, that was over 6 years ago. They tried to weasel their way out saying it was a long term leak and we didn't report it in time but we challenged it and they covered the damage. The other claim was an auto comprehensive claim and they covered that with no issues. After the homeowner claim the premium went up by almost 50% the next year. The following year there was another 40% increase then another almost 40% increase after that. Last couple of years the increase was minimal. Even with the exorbitant increases in the homeowner policy we stuck with Travelers. So, this year we were waiting for the invoice and were blindsided by a letter telling us that Travelers wasn't going to renew our homeowners insurance due to "debris" in the yard. There was no phone number to contact them regarding this issue just a "matter of fact" statement that the policy was not going to be renewed. Oh, they still wanted the auto insurance but not the homeowners. After 15 years, premiums paid on-time, one homeowner claim 6 years ago and no advance warning of non-renewal for a subjective view from an aerial photograph that they suspected showed "debris". We live on 5 acres that we farm, we grow grass hay for horses and have more than twenty fruit trees, table grapes berries and vegetables. We repurpose or recycle most of our waste items. We have tractors, trailers and various farm equipment. WE DON'T HAVE DEBRIS STREWN ABOUT THE PROPERTY! We have pallets we store to use when we cut the hay, we use drip irrigation for most of our trees and crops and store surplus supplies for installation and maintenance of our irrigation, equipment and facilities. This is not "DEBRIS". Our complaint is, after 15 years of paying premiums in-full and on-time, not one person from Travelers Insurance ever contacted us regarding their concern about "debris" existing on the property. NO LETTERS, NO PHONE CALLS, NO EMAILS, NO TEXT MESSAGES, just a letter of non-renewal. (NOT a shining example of customer service!) In our state Travelers doesn't deal with their customers directly. You need to use a independent agent that offers Travelers Insurance. Our agent can be difficult to contact. He doesn't return calls in a timely manner and never contacted us regarding the non-renewal, we had to contact him. He requested the photo from the underwriter and we provided him an explanation of the areas in question to forward to the underwriter. We are not sure he ever really provided anything I gave him to the underwriter. He did, however, say the underwriter didn't budge at all and that no explanation would change their mind. We gave Travelers 2 stars. We struggled with 1 star or 2 stars, but settled on 2 stars because they did repair the dishwasher damage and the auto comprehensive claim to our satisfaction. That being said, we would not recommend Travelers to anyone if asked. This is due to the lack of competent customer service follow-through that is expected from a long-term relationship.

Awful all around. Go to Nationwide they will take good care of you…read more At one point for over a year they kept trying to cancel my policy - they were sending my bills to the wrong address...I left a complaint and they put ONLINE - my public info - ' we had to kept canceling your policy'....how inappropriate. Overcharged over 10k one year just to pay back the next year. Rude. Horrible customer service. Go anywhere else - these guys don't care and will put your public info online.

My review of Attorney McCoy, has triggered him to show his true colors. (read his response below,…read morethat validates his lack of integrity) He sent a federal marshall, to our home on July 22, 2014, around 7:15AM, according to neighbors who not only watched this, but (2) videoed what went on with their I-phones. This marshall, was kicking and opening the screen door to bang and bang on both doors even the side porch door, to "serve me" with a threatening email. Its not even a lawsuit which he had threatened, over my very honest review! My son never heard the banging, because his air conditioner was running. Two neighbors called my digicel phone to tell me about the noise. They were so upset, and this then "triggered,"my documented PTSD, to erupt, to a full panic attack. That causes spasms around my 4 level cervical anterior fusion. Homes on both sides of our home have daycare. Attorneys watched this marshall, kick and bang the doors, and were rather upset that their children were also seeing this, as they were dropped off for daycare. All you did was embarass your firm. They all now know, it came from McCoy. He is angry because my personal injury case, turned into a "lien case", and instead of being honest with me, he drummed up documents, I would never sign. One was a "waiver" that allows this attorney, to profit more off the personal injury then I. I am the one with ongoing medical bills. If I was going to grant "indemnity", then why file the suit to begin with? It makes no sense that I would not want the person who maimed me for life, to be held accountable. Telling me I am defaming you is stupid..the document came from your office via email. Those (2) documents are why I lost my civil rights lawsuit against the lying state trooper. It is cited in the summary judgement, so you cannot keep saying, I posted a "defamatory" review. Even John Williams can verify this. Why is the settlement, (that was altered) not dated? A ton of people want to know. . His letter goes on......"in addition, I will consider any transfer of assets including real estate from this date forward as a fraudulent transfer and I will seek to invalidate such transfer." Suing your maimed, disabled client, who lives in a MIAMI-J neck brace, and taking all her assets and "our" home? Would you want your attorney to treat you, like that? Talk about vindictive. There are tons of sites just to review attorneys and doctors. This lawfirm uses youtube to post their clients reviews. ONLY the happy clients are allowed to use their "free speech" rights. Anyone with a complaint, and its, "off with their head". The fact is, not every single person you represent is going to be elated with the outcome. You know she was underinsured, and you know I came into your office with ANTHEM as my primary insurance. The home is my husbands and he is not part of the lawsuit. We have duel citizenship, and I am positive, we will not be extradited, over a negative review. Calling me "delusional" and not a "real client", validates my review even more. Are you a "real attorney"? We are officially done now.....back to my water therapy~

Best Connecticut Car Accident Law Firm…read more I was involved in a ca accident that was not my fault. I was driving on 91 N traveling toward Hartford, CT when I slowed down for traffic and go rear ended by a truck. The 18 wheeler slammed right into me totaling my SUV! I went to the emergency room after the accident and after several hours I was sent home with a stack of prescriptions, and follow up appointments with different specialists. My interaction with the insurance adjuster led me to McCoy and McCoy. First thing the next morning, I received a call from the truck drivers insurance company. He was a very nice man and politely asked for a recorded statement about the accident. I had a splitting headache and said I was not up to giving a statement at this time. I sent a few text messages to different friends who have been in a car accident asking for advice. One of my good friends told me to call McCoy & McCoy in Hartford and ask them what to do next. Jessica, one of the paralegals, answered the phone and spoke to me for at least 30 minutes. I must have asked 100 questions! She was really sincere and concerned about my injuries. She said my headache was common but wanted to make sure it was not something more serious because of how hard I hit my head on the steering wheel. Knowing that I did not have my car, and that I was not feeling great, she sent someone to my house to meet with me that day. That appointment lasted about 45 minutes. We spoke about all of the things that I like to do, where I work, where I grew up and more. I could tell I was going to like this law firm, that I was going to be treated like a person, not a file number, McCoy & McCoy literally took care of everything! The office made arrangements for the truck drivers insurance company to look at my car and I received a check for my property damage the following week. I appreciated that I did not have to do that and they did not even charge me! For the next year I had to go to different doctors for my headaches, physical therapy, and a chiropractor for my low back pain. I knew I was in good hands all along but that thought was reinforced when I went for a MRI and the technician had only great things to say about Attorney McCoy's office! With all these appointments, my mailbox was filled with paperwork, EOBs from my health insurance, and various forms to fill out. I sent all these to McCoy & McCoy and they took care of everything! The paralegals and Attorney McCoy made sure I knew they were always available to me. I called them from doctors offices for insurance information and from home when I had questions. When I would have a bad day, feeling like I will never get better, I would call the office and they always listened and understood. They never rushed me off the phone and always offered support. I even called on a Saturday with a question and one of the women had Attorney McCoy call me back- On a Saturday! Attorney McCoy, (Frank) was really great to work with! He made me feel at ease during this whole case. He answered all of my questions and explained to me in detail the process of an automobile accident case. He explained how McCoy & McCoy would handle my case step by step. Attorney McCoy's policy is to prepare each case like its going to trial because he refuses to accept low offers. I was good with that! It was obvious by talking to Attorney McCoy that he is very smart and loves what he does! He has awards and certifications that he has received hanging in the office. What really caught my eye were several articles written in law journals about cases McCoy tried and won! The end result or settlement of my case was better than I could have ever imagined! Over the course of my life I will have to continue with doctors appointments as needed and Attorney McCoy made sure that I have more than enough money from my settlement to do so. I can't thank Attorney McCoy and his staff enough for all their hard work and compassion! I am confident in giving them 5 stars and will refer friends, family and yelpers to McCoy & McCoy!

Tomorrow I will be calling our independent insurance agent to get them shopping for an alternative…read moreto the AARP-Hartford insurance. We have been with this program for a number of years, bundling home and auto. Yes, the rates keep going up each year, which is to be expected. Last year seemed on the excessive side, but I let it roll. Today I realized that they are proposing a 71% increase in our premium for 2026 to 2027. What?! We are mature adult drivers with less than 10,000 annual miles of driving. My husband had a recent minor accident, but I don't believe that has even entered into the calculation for the new premium. There was no damage to the other car, very minimal damage to ours, and no injuries. No tickets or other accidents on record. 71%? What I see online is other consumers reporting that their rates were going up 45 to 50% in a number of cases. Once they shopped other providers, they were able to get much better deals. I sure hope that will be the case when our agent shops options for us. Just on general principal, I want to get away from Hartford as soon as possible! It's a good thing our renewal time is almost here, and we will be moving on away from them. Their partnering with AARP to save older drivers money seems to have turned into a bad joke, bordering on a scam.
