Very simply put if you like chocolate and candy - GO! Lots of options from which to choose and the person who took care of us was wonderful. Prices are reasonable for sure. We ordered a random assortment of chocolates and enjoyed all of them. We will make our way back again before we leave the area. The salted caramels are amazing as are the chocolate turtles - there are many options of both. We particularly liked the almond turtle and the habanero salted caramel. read more

This place has been known for quality chocolate for a long time. But the peanut brittle was completely crackalicious! I thought it might just be your run of the mill peanut brittle...oh no...this was other worldly. Don't miss the pecan turtles which are also legendary. At least in my family. No stop would be complete without some marzipan filled chocolates or salted caramels. If you like things dipped in chocolate--they probably have it. And dipped in really, really good chocolate. I love this little confectionary, literally feeling like a "kid in a candy shop" when I walk through the door and see all the glass cases crammed with sweets. The air inside is redolent with the heavy fragrance of chocolate and sugar. The goodies are expensive, but that should not be surprising for handmade, hand dipped chocolates, truffles, caramels and other confections. You get what you pay for. There is a reason every other reviewer thus far has given this gem five stars. It's just that good. This is a confectionery that I can see becoming a real landmark, if it already isn't. Nestled in Prides Crossing at Beverly Farms in a quaint train station, the location may seem out of the way, but it's like something out of a literary classic. It doesn't get any better than that. So, now that we've determined that the location is spectacular, let's talk about what makes this place really shine. The chocolate. I am seriously into chocolate, and Flynn really hits the nail on his head. The milk is creamy, the dark is intense but still sweet and smooth. I haven't tried a huge variety of his creations, but I have tried quite a few, and they're all amazing. Part of why I haven't tried everything is those darn turtles. They're glorious. They're the best thing I've ever eaten. I was sad to not get the opportunity to get down there this week for some turtles, but at my friends new years eve party I won a candle contest and the prize? I just received a box of chocolate selections as a gift for Christmas from my brother and sister-in-law and I thought wow, that's a lot of chocolate. Little did I know the treat I was in for. I opened the box and I have never seen such a pretty festive display of varying selections. Then I indulged and tasted one - incredibly delicious and mouth watering. I hope I can restrain myself from eating any more (I have finished several candies already) as a family crowd is coming over for Christmas Eve dinner and I'd love to share these with them. The quality of the candy has not been the same since the original owner has sold the business. I have been really disappointed with the empty shelves and the wait staff. The caramel seems grainy, the butter crunch chewy, and the taste of the chocolate is not up to snuff. I have no idea what happened but I liked Prides much better before. My mother told me that the fudge that I purchased for her for mothers day was dry and old. I think that next time I will go to Winfrey's... To bad. This place was my go to place for gifts. Growing up, my mom bought candy from this store every Christmas and Easter. I've missed it since moving away. But then I found out they ship orders! Finally my children have their amazing cream eggs at Easter and my family gets to share their fantastic chocolates at Christmas. Prides Crossing Confections is one of those stores that I enjoy showing to friends because I know the visit will leave them with a big smile. It is also my go-to place if I need to find a gift that I KNOW the recipient will be delighted with. Most importantly, the chocolate confections are utterly delicious and made by hand. The caramel, toffee, turtles, peanut butter cups, and fruit cremes are all meticulously made on the premises with all natural ingredients. The entire store is an old converted train station. When you walk in, it's like you stepped back in time or onto a movie set. There are rows of glass counters with seemingly countless assortments of chocolates and other candies. Chris Flynn, the owner and world-class chocolatier with over 30 years experience, is always experimenting with new recipes, too. One of my favorites is the chocolate covered graham cracker and peanut butter sandwich. And if you're looking to try something new, give the chocolate covered bacon a shot. It's surprisingly good! The chocolate is all handmade there and you've really never tasted anything so good. They always have a great selection and the staff is knowledgeable and happy to help you pick out the perfect treat. They also offer all of your favorite candies, and will box up whatever you select and wrap it for you so it's ready to give as a gift! read more

We stopped by this adorable shop today for some sweet treats. They have a new owner, but the place is as charming as an old fashioned candy store. They had everything from smarties and "flying saucers" to yummy handcrafted chocolates made on site. The dark chocolate caramel with salt was my favorite. Yummy! Unfortunately I have to give at least one star. Did not get a chance to try the product. We did not realize that the store closed at 1700. We arrived at the store at 1648 (the time was clearly displayed in bright red LED lights where we parked next to store at train station). I notice a young girl with blonde hair come out and turn the sign from open to close. I asked her if they were already closed. We were taking my granddaughter out of her car seat. The girl replied "we close at 5". Another girl from the door seemed as if she wanted to serve us and asked if we wanted a box. I said we came to buy some sweets but the blonde girl seemed quite annoyed so we returned to the car. Now I understand if a bank has to close at 5 on the dot but a candy store on a rainy day? I'm sure they would have appreciated a little business. My granddaughter thought we were going in and cried when we strapped her back in the car. We do not buy her mass produced candies but we will treat her to home made confections on occasion. I'm a chocolate addict so needless to say we decided to go to Trader Joe's where we buy artisanal and organic goodies. We spent $50. I've been in retail and food business over 35 years. Never turned away a customer. 10 minutes would not have hurt the business and I may have given a fantastic review. Needless to say that although I live in Beverly I will never go back to this store. read more

I recently sampled some of the dark chocolate salted caramels new to me. The Himalayan sea salt are my standard go to caramels, but some of the ones I recently tasted are ridiculously good! The habanero salt caramels were a perfect blending of sweet and heat. I had a few others, but the other outstanding taste was the Thai ginger salt caramel; subtle and delicious. Thinking about the rest of the caramel line up, I have to mention the lavender caramels, you can smell Provence as you enjoy these treasurers. I will be back soon to taste whats new! read more
