The nurse yvette Myrtle Thomas was extremely rude . i came in to my appointment 20 mins early to check in and she told me that my appointment was cancelled and that they were going to stop seeing walk ins. I was totally confused! I wasn't a walk in , she just told me that my appointment was cancelled by the office in error!?! when i continued to question her she told me that she wasn't going to argue with me. She was clearly confrontational when i walked in the door! so she tells me that i need to wait for the receptionist to come back from break. so my son and i wait. the receptionist was very pleasant and we were escorted to the exam room, then i hear the head nurse Yevette talking about me and my son saying that she didn't want anyone in her face and asked her co worker what was we there for and we need to go. She then comes in the room minutes later slammed the door behind her and only addressed my son about why he was there . The employee was very unprofessional and should not be in a position to deal with patients. if she does not want to work let someone else do the job who will appreciate it . i'm positive that this is not the only complaint that she has received. read more

I have been going to this practice for years. The issue is, they can't keep staff. I've had doctors I've loved and doctors I didn't like so much. They used to have good front desk staff, but within the last 2/3 years not so much. They are also inconsistent. I'm not sure if the issue is pay or them being understaffed but having polite people on the front end would probably help the rating out tremendously. The current doctor is amazing. He usually has on a doctors coat with an LSU logo on it. (We will forgive him for that because he's so good at medicine) Dr.Sheikh should take the time to read and take heed to these reviews. I went yesterday for what I was sure was a tick on my head... the doctor said "oh it's a scratch" because he was looking at the wrong place. I pointed where exactly, he saw it and proceeded to tell me it was a skin tag... not sure how you can get those two confused. I walked out and went to my PCP, my diagnosis was correct. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!! My new insurance was going through application, so I had to pay cash when I went. So, they charge me to see the doctor, which was $130 approximately and then they tell me I am seeing a Physicians Assistant. Why are you billing me for a doctor's visit? There wasn't even a doctor there I come to find out. That's ridiculous. So, I submit a claim to United Healtcare afterwards for reimbursement, but my claim gets denied. The letter says that info had been requested from Primary Care Center, but was ignored by them. All they asked for the diagnosis code, Physicians name, and their tax payer ID number. So, I had down there just to get these three things. So, I wait, and my letter goes to the back and then they come back with a printout of my diagnosis. So, I ask where is the tax-payer ID number? They responed, what is that? I finally had to wait on someone from the business office to come up and give it to me. What a bunch of f@cking idiots. Thank you for completely ignoring my insurance and making me do all of the work myself. NEVER AGAIN! read more

The first time I went to this Care Center I had blood work done, and came back to pick the results up. I was just handed the results, which was a print out of all these medical codes that I couldn't understand. I had to ask for a doctor,and wait an hour, the nurse was not supposed to give me the results like this. There was nothing wrong, but very tacky to just hand me my own results, and expect me to just walk out the door. The next time I went in I knew I was going to need an urine sample, I asked the nurse if I could go right away, she said the Doctor would be in soon and to wait. I waited 1:40 minutes! The doctor came in, ordered for me to take a urine sample. Then had to wait another 45 minutes to get the results. The first time going here should have been the last, but when you're sick and need meds you'll take whatever you can get. Also the main receptionist is rude, and never even greets the patients or offers assistance. read more

The doctor on staff has terrible bedside manner. I went in with what ultimately turned out to be bronchitis, and when finally greeted by him nearly 30 minutes after being left alone in a room, he looked at me and the dark circles under my eyes and asked me sarcastically if I had been in a fight. Then he berated me for the medication I had taken prior to coming in. Front office staff are hit and miss. One has been polite and competent. The other has been completely rude and unhelpful. I wouldn't waste your time with this practice unless you're dying and can't get in to see your regular doctor. read more

This place has the worst service of any doctor I've ever visited. Have come in sick on multiple occasions, dr. tells me some bs and prescribes literally something I can buy off the shelf at cvs, later I discover I have strep or sinus infection or something else I actually need a prescription for. Came in today at 11 and they were very crowded. That's fine, I made an appointment for 2pm and came back later. The office is not crowded at all now and I've been sitting here for 1 hour 45 mins since I arrived for my appointment and haven't been seen yet. I'm not made of time and am incredibly frustrated. This place is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! They think it's OK to leave a dead kitten's corpse lying by their front entrance for 12 hours. TWELVE HOURS! I kid you not. The receptionist thought it was OK to mock me behind my back when I went in an complained about the DEAD KITTEN lying a few feet away from their door. They think's it OK to wait 24 hours for sanitation remove/discard the Dead Kitten. NO THIS IS NOT OK. NOT OK AT ALL. This place is Horrid! I called Dekalb Sanitation, and they told me it was the business owner's responsibility to move the kitten to the dumpster area. I asked if they had a call in, and they did NOT. I reported this to the property owner, and placed a shopping cart (upside down) to cover the poor animal so cars wouldn't run over the poor thing. I've been in here three times for three different problems and I am NEVER GOING BACK. Every time, no matter what the issue, they automatically prescribe antibiotics+steroids and, in spite of my telling them I was allergic to penicillin, gave me a penicillin derivative in a shot which gave me hives. I still have a bruise from a steroid and antibiotic shot in March of this year; it is now October. It was so bad that it just won't heal. I had to go see another doctor to look at it and make sure that I am okay. I am not anemic, and I don't have any medical reason that it isn't healing other than it was pure and simple mutilation by a nurse with absolutely no bedside manor. The only staff that doesn't seem to hate their job is the doctor and the front desk person. Everyone else acts like you are a burden they would like to be rid of as quickly as possible. She isn't from this country and doesn't speak the language. We (she) has been a patient of your staff at the primary care clinic in Decatur for years. She's 71 and has had high blood pressure for years that your staff at that clinic had been treating. She had 2 heart attacks last month and that's ok, she's fine thank god. However, since than, we've seen your staff as directed by the Emory hospital staff multiple times and unfortunately your staff isn't very friendly/professional. The wait is way way too long for a patient that has had 2 heart attacks two weeks prior to the visit and your staff does not listen to any concerns. Anything said to them is like a wind blow. Goes in one ear and out the other. Anyways, she had a rash to one of her meds and it took your staff 2 days to get back to us about the proper treatment. The pharmacist helped before your (her physician) did. The other day she needed some meds prescribed because her cardiologist could not and again, it took overnight even though I told your secretary staff she completely OUT! This was a seizure medication which was very vital to her. Again, it took them more than 24 hours to respond and get back to me. My question to you, as a director of this urgent place in Decatur, how urgent is this place????? It's called urgent for a reason and I don't see any urgency in your current staff. When I called needing an appointment, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful so I never even saw a doctor. She kept telling me what she could not do insted of assisting a patient.. Not what an injured patient wants to hear. I was told the office managers name is Nicole Noss. She needs to see that the staff is competent. Of course, she never returned my call. My appointment was at 2:15. I arrived at 1:50. They still hand not contacted my insurance because my visit was for a car accident.The receptionist had me call my insurance rather then calling them herself. I then had to give her my cell phone while she told my insurance to call the Primary Care center. There was only 3 people there when I arrived. I waited in a room for 1h 25min before being seen. During that time the nurse came in 2 times and said she was going to give me a pain shot. They were very unorginized because I had not been see by a doctor and they were trying to give me medication. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY IF YOU WANT GOOD CARE!!! Went in after cutting a finger and bleeding profusely. Front desk was like speaking with the mentally challenged with DMV worker attitudes. Was first quoted a copay of $80, i kinda side eyed them but decided to pay...finger still bleeding a lot...after about 30 mins, the lady at the front desk says no its $17, ok great..finally get called to see nurse to get vitals...while getting vitals the front desk nurse comes back with, no its $80. Still decided to proceed...after another 30 mins, I go back to see the doctor who seems like he does shady work for criminals with bullet wounds, real creepy. He starts talking about deductibles and being a poor doctor...keeps leaving and coming back...the last time he came back in the room before I stormed out, he said it would be an additional $166 before he could give me stitches...thats when the cussing began, I could no longer remain calm...i instantly pulled my finger out of a solution he started soaking it in to clean it, demanded my refund and let them know just how inadequate they were...they gave me my money back...please do not go there if you care about getting proper treatment and not being scammed. read more

I am been seen at this clinic several times--for acute illnesses, follow up to acute illnesses, and an injury which required stitches. I have always received prompt, courteous, and professional treatment. Personnel have been compassionate and very helpful. I went in today without an appointment for an acute illness--in and out in less than one hour. Other physicians would have a hard time competing with that! read more

Only come here as a last resort. The night before I realized I had a very time sensitive and urgent issue I needed to see a doctor for. Unfortunately, my regular and trusted practitioner was closed on weekends. Desperate, I looked up local clinics open on Sunday. At 9:30 am I was the second person in the waiting room, meanwhile it took about 35 minutes to even have my name called, then another hour before being seen. This wasn't even the part that really bothered me for I'm a relatively patient person. The doctor was not interested in staying for the entire visit, he left the room multiple times before we really finished discussing the issues. Finally I stopped him and said I had a few questions I wanted him to answer about my condition. He kept his hand on the door handle as if he was only staying because he had to, and was slowly trying to escape again. You feel unimportant. The doctor seems uninterested. In closing, as the doctor was leaving I asked him about the prescription he had prescribed. He looked over his shoulder and said I could get it from him "for 20 bucks". I said no thanks that I'd get it from the pharmacy. The pharmacy sold the same prescription to me for $3.60. Primary Care Center is very cavalier towards its job, dispassionate towards its patients, and appears somewhat dishonest when it comes towards making a quick buck. read more

My mother was in town for a visit and needed some medical care. She was never even able to see a real doctor, and the physician's assistant did not know her sh*t! Plus, since she couldn't find her Medicare card, they charged outrageous amounts for every freaking little thing BEFORE they would even see her in her very sickly state. Ethical? Absolutely not! I call that robbing the people who are most vulnerable. If I could give this place zero or a "negative" amount of stars, I would. Do not waste your time here. I had to sign up for Yelp just now because I was surprised about all these negative reviews for the Primary Care Center in Decatur. I have been there a million times (was just googling to get the number to make a follow up appt when I saw this) and they have always been great. Dr. Sikh is a surprisingly personal and helpful dr. for being in a walk-in clinic. Never had a problem with insurance. Never waited too long. Always got attentive care in this place. I'm sure there have been bad experiences. I'm suprpised about Mary M's review because that's never been my experience at all. I'm sure that happens but I've never seen anyone unhappy or complaining when I've been in there. So, just wanted to balance some of this out because I think Dr Sikh is a good dr. and a good member of the Decatur community and I want his small business to succeed. read more

Stay away...your health depends on it. After getting a diagnosis from the doctor, he prescribed medication to treat my illness. When I asked him about any possible side effects he just said "don't worry about it", when I asked again he just told me I wouldn't have any and it wasn't important. Naively I filled the prescription and began taking the dosage prescribed by the doctor. Within two weeks I began having symtoms that were very severe, and even indicated possibility of annyerism. When I called the office they said they would have a doctor call me back. That took 36 hours, in the mean time I stopped taking the medication. The doctor didn't actually call, but had a nurse call. She said the side effects were serious and I should have gone to the emergency room. Thanks for not telling me that 36 hrs ago!! The last time I was in (this morning) was a trip for blood work...my last ever visit. The receptionists were too busy talking about a signinficant other that had overdosed on PCP to get me my form so I could sign in. When I was called back to the examination room I sat for 45 minutes without so much as an explanation why it was taking so long. I finally walked out nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment, never to return again. I have never written a review on anything, but due to the nature of the type of service this horrific office attempts to provide I thought it was important. Please find a real doctor, avoid this clinic for all healthcare related issues. read more

The first time I went was for an ear ache. The doctor introduced himself by saying, "You're my last patient of the day!" OK; it was just an ear ache and all I needed were some drops, so it didn't really matter to me, except that I wondered what kind of reception someone who was really sick would have received. Would the doctor have resented having to spend more time? The next time, I went it was for a persistent cough. The PA saw me and didn't even look at my nose and throat but ordered a chest x-ray (understandable) and wanted me to take a heart stress test. He gave me antibiotics which didn't help. I eventually found an internist elsewhere and within minutes she diagnosed me with nasal allergies and gave me a prescription for nasal spray and recommendations for OTC antihistamines. Walked in to a vacant Check-In desk with three other patients in the waiting room. Had been waiting for someone to return to the Check-In desk for 20 minutes. I asked the patients how long they had been waiting and they said 35 minutes. I took it upon myself to fill out the paperwork and have a seat. I waited another 5 minutes until I decided to call the main line. When the gal picked up I informed her she had four patients in the waiting area that needed assistance. Two patients decided to leave. Five minutes later, the check-in receptionist finally showed up. There were two of us left still waiting to be seen. One patient had been there for almost 40 minutes and has yet to be seen. There were no other cars in the parking lot and no one in front of her. I was asked to return if my symptoms progressed, which they did. During my follow-up I was informed I still needed to pay a co-pay of $25 just for a strep exam even if I was seen the day prior. I went to this clinic to have blood work done. Although the experience in the clinic was basically fine, I was appalled at the follow-up. First of all, days went by and I heard nothing from them regarding my blood test results (they had been there for several days). Then, I was unable to ever get an actual physician on the phone to answer my question about the test results - I spent my evening googling what each value meant. I was very clear when I went to this clinic (and spent several hours there) that I felt I might be anemic again. One of the items on my test results, which was out of the normal range, is an indication of anemia. After trying several times to have an actual doctor from the clinic call me, and after me even telling them "I have resorted to googling what this stuff means", and even after saying "Well, I guess I need to find a new doctor," - their response was a monotone "ok." Thus, basically I have paid for a blood test result that I cannot get a doctor (or nurse) to discuss with me over the phone for two minutes. Avoid this place. read more

I went to this practice because I had a respiratory infection. I was the second person in line at 9am, but it took an hour and 45 minutes for me to be seen. The first patient in line was in the room next me and it took her an hour and 30 minutes to be seen. The doctor spent less than 3 minutes with me total including the time he took to give me a strep throat culture. I was rushed out with an antibiotic and told to call back if I had any other symptoms or problems. I spent the entire evening coughing uncontrollably so I called at 9am when they first opened to request cough syrup. They said they would call me when they called in the prescription. I hadn't heard from them at 3pm, so I called them back. They said it would be 5pm before the doctor would get the chance to call it in. I called back at 6:30pm because the prescription still wasn't called in. They said they would give the doctor the message but couldn't tell me when it would be called in. At 7:30pm, they called to tell me they'd faxed in the prescription. I went to the pharmacy and the prescription was not there. I called the office back and they said "oops, it looks like the fax didn't go through. I'll call the pharmacy right now." Ten minutes later the pharmacist told me that the prescription still hadn't been called in. I called the office back again and was told that they'd called in the prescription to the wrong pharmacy despite the fact that I'd given them the address and phone number of the correct pharmacy. I would NEVER consider going back to this office. They are completely incompetent in every way. read more
