Unacceptable customer service and poor patient care. Frequent poor phone etiquette, as I've often been placed on hold without being asked first, and unfriendly tone of phone used by receptionist. I had the worst medical experience of my life when I got the flu. My test results were not sent into the lab and I had to drive to office the next week to retest. It should be noted that no medical staff ever called me to follow-up on my positive test results to offer medical care advice or to just check-in with me (to see if I was alive). The staff is very unprofessional and does not care about patients and I will be looking for another doctor. read more

One more review in the negative column for this place. I get in the exam room and sit. Twenty five minutes later, I'm in the exam room still sitting, waiting for the Nurse Practitioner. If business is too good, do not over-schedule patients. Made this appointment before work and I was running out of time. At the twenty five minute mark I got dressed and left. Answered with an attitude I was going to go with them but they gave me a lot of attitude and were very rude so i decided to with someone else. They talk to you like if they are forced to work there. Susan Evans NP and Dr Baron are the worst. I declined a medical procedural which is my right. Because she (Susan) was mad, she told me I would have to deal with a doctor next time instead of a NP. I agreed. A few weeks later, I received a letter stating Primary Care did not want to treat me any more which was okay. Anyone reading this would prefer to advocate for themselves regarding a procedure or medical care. Also, Dr. Barron just doesn't seem to know her job. Beware because at Primary Care you can not advocate for yourself or choose the course of treatment you would like. I prefer to make my own medical decisions. read more

I have been going here for about 9 months, I'm not sure what they're about regarding being a compassionate doctors group, but they either over prescribe medication or they make you wait forever !!! I was in today to get a referral for my left knee because they wouldn't just add it to my original appointment with a new orthopedic doctor, but when I mentioned that I wasn't feeling well physically she said I would have to come back to be seen again they don't add extra stuff to the original appointment!!! And if you ask for a letter for anything, if approved it's $15 for that!!!! I've never known a doctors office to be a la carte on everything they do, it's not like I'm asking for their 1st born!!! I'm just over it, I did find another clinic that can see me, but they have no availability till September 11th!!!! But I can go to the urgent care facilities to do my colds and flu stuff, which I rarely get the flu!!! I would never ever recommend going here at all!!!! Dr. Jaskeerit Purewal and office are great. I am happy to finally have a primary care I trust and know will take care of me. Before I used to have issues with referals with my hmo insurance at Sante Community Physicians, but not here. I used to have to wait 2 weeks to get the referal in the mail and here they send the referal and then they call you to schedule an appointment. Dr. ordered me labs and a ultasound and plans to go over with me while I wait for my referal for an OB. So far my experience has been great with this Doctor, wait times are short, and staff get me referalls and set up everything perfectly. Very professional and personable! read more

This is my updated review. What I personally think from the front desk and the medical team in this place dont perform well. The front desk people are unfriendly. Bad waiting time despite of appointment. Dont even schedule an appointment with them, because no matter what, they will make you wait for so long. They read my TB test wrong. It was false positive. They said it was positive. When it was only looking pink. It wasnt raised or anything. It was smooth to the touch. It was just a little pink. They had me do x-ray, and it came out negative. The NP told me to come back bcuz she wants to treat me and put me on medication so i dont get TB. I declined. 1 year later, I took another TB skin test, since i doubted their decision last time. This time I took another TB test at a different doctor. The laboratory technicians read it NEGATIVE. One time i also did my physical here. The medical assistant was so fake in taking my vitals too. He was checking my radial pulse rate with his fingers WITHOUT looking at a clock/watch to see the rate per minute. read more

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE AND DON'T LET YOUR FAMILY GO HERE!! My mom had a VERY critical illness that the providers here knew about but downplayed and selfishly decided to continue to try to treat her at their facility instead of sending her straight to the hospital where she could've received actual help and possibly gotten better. A week after her last visit, I had to find her at home in a coma. Even though their hours are convenient, it's not worth sacrificing your health. These people are just money hungry and their front desk staff are rude. read more

I don't generally write reviews but feel it would be a disservice to not do so for Dr. Purewal and his exceptional team/staff. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. I was able to get in quickly and I know they had to move scheduling around to accommodate my needs. More than anything else I appreciate the doctor taking time with me and addressing all my concerns. This guys don't bother going there if your sick they won't see. And if they do video conference and you can't get out bed to give the credit card. They will charge you and extra fee. If I could give negative stars, I would. This has to be the WORST medical group I have ever seen. First of all I would compare this place to a run down K-Mart. I have seen Dr Susan Evans a few times now and will never go back. She dismisses every problem you have and won't even get off her ass to actually examine you. They just send you around and around to a million different places and offer ZERO solutions. EXTREMELY unprofessional, I don't know how she even uses the title Dr. the nurses are just as bad and uneducated. One example from earlier is when I asked why they don't do blood work in the office to which the nurse said "I don't know, we don't do that no more" and I'm supposed to let these people take care of me?? Couldn't see Purewall one visit so I seen the female dr she told me I had shingles without even looking at me. I usually don't complain much about service anywhere, but I have to say: Dr. Critser is an absolute joke. Visited him for the first time with what eventually ended up being bronchitis, sinusitis, and an ear infection. Never asked me any questions about my medical history; just immediately suggested an x-ray of my chest without any explanation why. I came back a few weeks later because my symptoms got worse. The nurse practitioner immediately knew what was going on AFTER asking me about my symptoms and medical history. Got my prescription as well as recommendations on how to proceed. The efficiency an professionalism of the staff are unacceptable. If it were not for one NP Susan, I would have left a long time ago. If you go into an appointment for more than one thing they charge a co-pay for each separate issue. It too more than 2 and a half hours just to get a rapid covid test. They are inefficient. Another NP just takes his time and prescribes least of remedies so you will go back and they can bill your insurance again and make you pay another co-pay. Horrible place. read more

Third class level care. Nurse couldn't get blood pressure , O2 electronic machine to work. Third time I suggested that machine is not working. Moved on to manual apparatus, nurse talking on phone. She couldn't reach my left arm so wound scarf on left wrist, asked me to hold out hand in the air for one minute. I had to use right hand to support my left hand at elbow while nurse talked on phone. Eventually high BP registered. Wonder the machine is calibrated. Doctor walked in, reliving nurse on desktop. Lab test papers not handed to me, saying high glucose level and BP, prescribing another medication. With due respect to Dr. Purwall, I tried to be casual, followed up but results has caused me stress, anxiety, disappointed. Covid1 negative test results I had submitted on previous week was not in the data base. I had to show my copy to doctor. Later on repeated calls for prescription refill placed 3 days ago through Costco wasn't refilled, call transferred to nurse dropped after 11 minutes. New glucose control prescription prescribed, was refused by Medicare. Calls to office transferred to nurse I guess. She was admonishing me as the patient that she has five orders in front of her, can't do anything about it, hung up. Asked about refill ordered 3 days ago, nurse retorted that Costco didn't send in fax. Costco pharmacy I contacted again said this office always says fax was not received, therefore re faxing. Today on third day new prescription not filled. Frustrated with this facility, lack of professionalism, uneducated attitude. Today, 1,23rd,21 no replacement diabetic 2 prescription received since above scenario took place on Jan, 20th, 21; BN. read more

This was my dad's Dr. For years. The doctor was fine but didn't spend much time listening to his patients. The office staff is terrible. They're rude and don't fallow through with referrals. Took nearly a year get a pain specialist and they continue to send referrals after we'd found a doctor. Rx weren't sent out in a timely manner. One to the wrong pharmacy. Ridiculous office staff. One person even accused my dad of cursing at her and got him kicked out. Two other clients of mine have experienced a similar situation. read more

Horrible experience. Billing is a mess. I have been back and forth for the last year for them to code my physical correctly and they still haven't. Physicals are cover 100% by my insurance, never had an issue tell I went to their office. Put me on hold for 15 min to answer and tell me they were too busy to talk with me. read more

I've not had long waits after arrival, but the staff, from reception to exit, has been curt, rude and often times unhelpful. How many opportunities do I give them before moving on? Worst doctors office I have ever dealt with. They do not care about their patients and have no empathy when it comes to the elderly. My mother had a fall last week and was in a lot of pain. We had a video call with Dr. Jaskeerit Purewal and she asked my mother what her pain level was. She told her a 9. The Dr. ordered x-rays and we took my mother the next morning. My mother was in so much pain she could barely walk so we requested a wheelcahir. The x-ray tech was surprised there wasn't a "stat" order to get the results right away especially because it was Friday morning and it was going to be a 3 day weekend. My sister and I called the Dr's office numerous times to ask that they put a rush on the results and the Dr refused. My mother was in very bad pain all weekend and even though the results came back Tuesday morning (4 days after the x-rays were done) we still were not able to get the results till the next day when we went in for an appointment. We called multiple times Tuesday and asked for the results and no one ever called us back. My mother is 82 years old and has previous back problems (that are on file with this Dr's office) and walks with a walker. When we went into the office for the appointment they acted like they didn't care. The Dr. again stated that in her "professional opinion" it wasn't severe even though my mother had stated her pain level was at a 9. It was like she didn't even read her chart or look at her history. My mother ended up having a fracture and nothing else was done for her. She stated to my sister that we could get a 2nd opinion if needed. She did not offer anything for pain or a referral to orthopedics. In my opinion she caused her patient harm physically and mentally for not helping her as she should and she violated her code of ethics. Stay away from this practice. I would have given a 0 star rating if possible. read more

Came in with husband concerning his hearing loss and some additional issues. Well the doctor saw him for less than 5 minutes and was just saying they were going to clean his ears. When I told them that that didn't help because after a day or so he was back to not hearing, the doctor ignored me. I had to stop the doctor a couple of times to tell him about the other things that were bothering my husband. It seems that they only want to treat one thing at each appointment which is ridiculous. This place is a joke. Had to come in 3 times in 1 week because symptoms kept getting worse. Dr said I had strep throat without even doing a swab. He kept just saying it's a small nasal infection and it will work itself out. I had to ask if he was going to prescribe any medication to help treat it. And they did not want to give me any days off even though the infection is highly contagious. Switching care givers, and hope this place shuts down. read more

I had a recent appointment and some rude lady called me the day before a "3rd party" telling me that the lady who scheduled me an appointment didn't realize I had a bill in collections so I'm officially banned from there.. not sure doctors could treat their patients like bartenders and 86th them for a past due bill. I wasn't even aware of the collections and I even offered to pay the past due and she still said I wouldn't be able to get seen there unless I was approved bunch of BS. Then I tried to call and speak to someone else and they continued to put me on hold and purposely did not answer. Would not recommend this place to anyone not even sure why I made a few appointments there to begin with the staff always seems to have their head up their butts anyways. Waste of time I'm sure I'm not the only person who ever had a medical bill that went past due but at least let someone know they have a past due bill before you send it to collections what a joke read more

I used to be a patient here about 10 years ago. I moved out of Fresno and just came back. I made an appointment because they were a pretty good place in the past. It was odd, but everything looked exactly the same. I highly recommend they renovate or even just upgrade some of the waiting area furniture and decor. It was like I stepped into a time machine. One thing that has changed is their care, which makes me sad. I was waiting for about two hours total. I only had about 10-15 minutes of face to face time, and that includes both with the MA and doctor. The MA never really made eye contact with me and her body language showed that she was really overworked and stressed. She looked like she just needed a few minutes to breathe. I felt bad so I did not say anything. I met with Dr. Purewal. He was very neutral. He was neither friendly nor rude. He did a quick examination and wrote my script. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but with waiting two hours I felt fatigued and mentally exhausted. I just wanted someone to smile, make a joke, or something that felt human. I noticed on my checked paperwork, they checked the box for "extended new patient visit." There was nothing extended about my visit besides me sitting in a old room waiting. They will or course receive an extended reimbursement rate from my insurance. Luckily, I have a PPO insurance so I will not be back. They were much better 10 years ago. read more

Wow. Such bad reviews. Well...let me add another one. The ONLY reason I ever went to this horrid place is because they always have availabilities and are open early/late/weekends...because, you know...I gotta do this thing call work and can't see my regular doc during business hours. Anyhoo, I've given them enough chances. Three are two too many. I saw a different provider each time (which I didn't mind bc I was trying to find one that I like), and asking them for the smallest thing appears to be too much work for them. Like seriously. I only go with 1-2 complaints, but it's still too much for them. And, man, they are rude; not very good people skills. As a patient, I am in a vulnerable position and would prefer someone with more empathy and people skills. Not coming back again ever. And will make sure family/friends/colleagues avoid this place. read more

This place is by far the worst experience I've ever had in managing my health issues. I was seen on a weekend (phone in the same day apt). I was scheduled for 3:00 and ended up waiting for a whole hour to be seen (not to mention coming in in early to fill out paper work). The physician I saw that afternoon was rude and rushed me out the clinic. He didn't even take the time to answer questions I had about my condition. Only wrote a Rx and literally kicked me out! Given that I have good health insurance, I didn't expect to be treated in such a way. ,The facility itself is old and rusty and the staff were not very professional. Not to mention that they were not properly dressed for a medical setting. Overall, I will not return to this clinic, and I'd advise others to look elsewhere. read more

Had to have an annual womanly exam. I was scheduled with Susan Evans, NP for a 10am appt. I arrived on time with minutes to spare. I'd never met with the NP before & had no clue what she looked like. As I waited in the lobby to be called back I was watching out the window & saw two providers in lab jackets one with coffee appearing to be heading out for a walk or who knows where. Eventually was called back, undressed & sat in exam room on the table draped in paper covering me while completely naked & vulnerable. Waited for just shy of an hour before my NP walked in & to my surprise it was the lady & watched leave the building right when I was scheduled to see her. No magazines to read while I waited. No one Popped in to communicate there was a delay etc...when Susan finally came in she didn't acknowledge she was 50 minutes behind not one word or apology about it. I was in the room for 15 mins for breast exam, pap & very short H&P. On top of that she wanted me back in a month to review results. Really? How about just mailing results if they're normal & call back if they're not! I'm gathering all my results & wont be returning. I moved from Sacramento where I had care from & worked for Sutter Health for many years. This place is a joke in comparison. That office breakdown in communication would never be tolerated at most other places. The patient's well being comes first, always! I've only been there for visits 3x prior & always waited a significant amount of time. I understand providers get behind sometimes. It happens. To not have an open line of communication on wait times is just terrible customer service. It's generally telling the patients their time isn't as valuable as the office staff. read more

This is the WORST doctors office I have ever been to. Please think twice before coming here. I had a series of serious infections and each time Dr.Susan (forgot her last name) prescribed the same medicine with higher dosage. Her and Dr.Banka bounced me back and forth for months! To make matters worse,they did the same tests three times! The results were the same each time and they never pursued it beyond some generic tests. I finally found a new doctor who diagnosed me with a very serious disorder. Now my health is finally improving. It took one doctor a couple easy visits what it took the doctors at Primary Care months to do. I truly feel they are in if for the money. If you have a minor cold or illness this maybe an okay place to go. If you have any REAL issues please seek a better facility. read more

I've went to them 4 times, I choose them because they were relatively close to my house and in network with my insurance. My most recent visit which took more than 30 minutes to be called back. The girl at the front called me up 3 separate times to complete forms, she must have been new. I get everyone has to learn but at least apologize for the inconvenience. Every time I go, I see someone new, I guess they have a problem with keeping a regular provider. Not sure if that's a sign to walk away from this practice but it sure does complicate trying to build trust with a provider. The front desk girl butchered my name then my wife's when she called it out in the lobby for me to verify her number. Thanks for the HIPPA violation since she said her phone number out loud for anyone to hear. Then they finally get me back to the room and Susan says that she has the wrong chart. Actually she didn't, she just called me by my middle name and my chart had my first name. Then she ask me to come back twice to have something simple completed. This place is horrible, the staff doesn't seem to want to make eye contact with you, the providers are always changing and the place is very 80's and out dated. Stay away go somewhere else and save yourself the hassle of an agrivated visit. Go to a provider that cares for you and not treat you like cattle moving you through the office. I've never had one person give me the minimal amount of customer/patient experience. Horrible, horrible, horrible! read more
