Dr. Newsome finally after 5yrs, hears what my husband has been telling him from the start and does a heart cath. and low and behold he has 7 blockages and needed emergency surgery. My husband had to undergo a 5 bypass, open heart surgery. If only this was caught sooner it maybe wouldn't have progressed to this extent. Also for your information Dr. Newsome does not have the knowledge to perform putting a stent in a patient. Please don't make the same mistake that we did by going to this doctor.

Following za routine blood test, my triG's were off the chart high, slightly over 600. However, the Cardiologist apparently did not read the report and had his assistant call and tell me everything looks great!! It took me calling back 3 times to have her confirm and finally they said OMG, and put me on another new Medication. No follow up was schedule. I scheduled my own follow up 6-8 weeks later and received a call that everything looks great!". This time it took only 2 calls to the "Nurse" to have her check the results and confirm that Indeed they were WRONG AGAIN and it was still off the charts high!!. This could very well be Life Threatening for me and the Dr not only mis-reports the results, there is Zero follow up and they apparently don't give a Damn!! The Dr is Cefalu -- DO NOT EVER GO TO HIM, YOU MIGHT DIE!!!!!

I checked in downtown stairs and it took about 3 mins. I was sent upstairs to the 10 th floor;…read morewaited in the waiting area for about 3 mins and was called to the exam room. The place was easy to find. The clinic was clean, well lit, detailed with directions and not overly crowded. The nurse was very polite, friendly and down to earth. She did my vitals, verified all my meds etc. and did and EKG. Dr. Moraes and he was friendly, kind and very professional. He was patient, sympathetic to my situation, he listened and most importantly he did not rush my appointment!!!! He really made sure I understood what the goal was and the treatment plan he was putting in place for me. He answered all of my questions and reassured me that we were going to our best to nip this in the bud. I was very pleased with my visit and I would recommend him to family and friends... until my next visit lets see how this heart monitor and DASH diet goes..

I transferred from the cardiology professionals at Ochsner over to Louisiana Cardiology Associates…read morebecause I heard the service was better at LCA. Never have I made such a terrible mistake. The nurses and doctors at LCA would not return phone calls. Their switchboard is over loaded and generally it takes about 15 minutes just to get the operator on the line. The line will drop without warning. Once you get the operator and ask for the nurse, you are place on hold again or get the nurse's voice mail. There is no point in leaving a message because they have not given me the common courtesy of a return call. Since that did not work, I tried their web site and sent several messages. To date, I have received ZERO responses. I do not think anyone checks the messages. For something as serious as cardiology care I cannot understand the absence of timely, professional communication. I would not and cannot suggest anyone use this clinic. The level of professionalism is abysmal. Look elsewhere for your cardiology care.

Called to tell them I wasn't going to be able to attend my appointment, no answer. So i leave a…read morevoicemail: "hey i will not be coming to my appointment so i need to cancel or reschedule, my name is _____" and they called me back during my working hours so i was unable to answer. Instead of cancelling the appointment as requested in the voicemail or sending a text or email, they send me a $50.00 bill for no show. Excuse me, but i left you a voicemail saying I was needing to cancel. I will be calling this week to situate this matter, if they do not cancel this fee, this review will stand and I will cancel all future services with this provider. Unacceptable.

This location is so unorganized it's scary. The cardiologist I was seeing also recommended that I have the same procedure done in my other leg. After having so many complications from the first procedure including getting a blood clot in which I had to go Baton Rouge General Emergency room to get treated for and now I also have developed nerve damage in that leg. I have switched to a new Cardiologist somewhere else.
