I had a great experience getting a bilateral salpingectomy with Dr. Davis. This is a surgery that some doctors refuse to provide due to their personal opinions about women and pregnancy. Thankfully Dr. Davis is a professional who respects bodily autonomy. I am terrified of needles, and the amazing nurses and care team at Woman's made my experience one of the smoothest I've ever had. The technicians were kind, explained everything to me, and made sure I felt cared for. I am almost a week post-op and even though I am generally very sensitive and my health is poor, I am recovering unusually fast and have very little pain. I can only think to attribute this to the expertise of the surgeon. When I do have pain, I don't feel like I need to ration my medication, because they gave me all that I needed and didn't skimp. My only issue was that I need valium or xanax for anxiety and I was told I couldn't take it before the procedure due to consent forms. I learned that other patients were allowed to take theirs and it just depends on who the doctor and hospital staff are that I speak to before my surgery. Anxiety medicine doesn't nullify contracts or affect the outcome of pregnancy tests, so there is no reason I had to wait all morning without it until right before my procedure. Other than this issue, I had a very positive experience overall. read more

I gave birth in this hospital and I do not recommend this hospital to anyone!I was asked to clean my pump right after surgery when I can barely even stand.The nurses are rude and Insensitive and overall did not know how to say things properly!! The nurses did not help me shower and left me doing things on my own!! The nurses came up to me after surgery and told me "i do not have hope for your son" when he was admitted into NICU. He said this in such a cold way and I feel that there was a better way in saying this!!If you are looking to come here for labor please change your mind !! read more

I've been going to the clinic at Woman's Hospital for a few years now and it's always been pleasant, I've used the imaging department for my mammograms and have also always had a pleasant experience with them. This past weekend I had to have surgery and I can't even begin to tell you how nice and supportive everyone was from the cafeteria workers to the Doctors, they was ALL top notch! They made me feel comfortable and informed. They also kept my husband in the loop throughout the surgery. My room was wonderful, nurses took care of me as if I was their Family. My husband and I kept calling our hospital room a "hotel" after we left because the staff was so friendly. Went for my annual mammogram October 4, 2021. Check in and techs were fine, but getting results is like pulling teeth! I was handed a card & told to call if I hadn't received results in 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS.!! Not only did I not receive results, the letter that came 2 weeks later was a satisfaction survey - not my results. Inexcusable. Will not be back. read more

I have debated writing this review. Part of me is scared to be fired as a patient, but the other would rather that happen than ever go through the experience I did. The desk staff is absolutely amazing. The technicians were wonderful. Everyone was kind and patient, aside from my nurse practitioner. I have PASH, an extremely rare disease. When I explained to the nurse my want for a mastectomy (as I have grown 5 new tumors since June), I was told "I can tell you right now you won't be having a mastectomy". She said this without giving me a physical exam first, without looking at information on my records. When I had an anxiety attack over this information, she told me "you're zoning out now, you don't want to listen". I shouldn't have to state my mental disorders to defend myself. There should be empathy REGARDLESS. When asked about cancer history, I told her I had 3 family members who died of breast cancer., I was told it doesn't really "count" if it's a "great" grandmother or etc. GENETICS go back HUNDREDS of years. I wasn't asked but ONE question regarding my breast. We were too busy butting heads for me to even get my symptoms out. I continued to explain I wasn't trying to be rude, but trying to explain my situation. When I told her of my pain, I was told "well people walk around with back pain, and we don't go cutting out stuff". This felt like a slap in my face as I had just told her I couldn't even hug my significant other without pain. She then said "you seem like you already have your mind made up, I don't think I can help you". I was 90% sure I was going to be kicked out. I began to cry and explain I'm only 19. My mother just beat colon cancer. I don't want to live like this anymore. I found no empathy. During my physical I pointed out a lump I had been recording growing. It had grown about 2 cm in 3 months. She felt of my right (where I had reconstructive surgery after biopsy) and said since it was hard there too, it was fibro glands . I tried to explain that the lump she was feeling was tissue used for reconstruction, but all she said was "maybe". While I understand doctors cannot control government policies or insurance policies, I CANNOT understand why I was belittled. I have researched my disease, CLINICAL STUDIES, and was told "the internet is full of attention seekers" (even though these were clinical college studies). I know what I feel, and I know my body more than anyone. My disease is aggressive and painful, even if nobody believes me. I'm not coming back, since I need a staff that believes me and has compassion, not passive aggression. I wouldn't recommend this hospital, and I just believe staff needs more social training. I hope I help other young girls from the same experience read more

I love the new Woman's Hospital. The only thing I wish was that I was able to have my baby here. It's so much nicer than its former location. Parking is easy and the office visits are always very efficient. I am usually out of there within 30-45 minutes. The front office staff makes the check-in process a breeze and the nurse assists with all vitals and my physician is straight and to the point, which make for speedy doctor consults. Oh yes,the cafeteria here is so awesome because of their Mongolian BBQ-style station, where you can pick all your veggies & meats and they cook on their large range. The cafeteria is open, which allows for ample seating and the cashiers are always very pleasant. I can't forget to mention that the cookies here are fabulous! All experiences have always been positive here and it's always nice to go into a clean facility with a caring staff. read more

I was in for a breast reduction surgery. Got there at 5:00am and was immediately taken back to prep for surgery. Mary Lynn, Lori and Blair were my nurses and could not have asked for anyone better. I was called by a billing representative and told that I had to pay $2,000.00 before having a surgery that I did not even know I was supposedly having. I am scheduled for a biopsy, not a hysterectomy. I have insurance and gap. It's ridiculous that they demand this amount of money in advance before even knowing or verifying surgery. read more

There is no better place to have a baby than at Woman's. It's literally their specialty! All of my children were born here and I would have went way out of my way to make sure of it. Each time I've had an amazing experience, even most recently with all the Covid regulations. The nursing staff is just amazing. They go way above and beyond for each patient. I always leave with new friends and find memories. There are so many I can name but Cullen, Joy, Kim P, Christine, Andrea, Shawntell are all angels!! So sweet, kind and caring. I will never forget any of them. Mallory in L&D is also a godsend. Every room is super clean, everyone is super friendly. The food is also excellent! Not at all like typical blank hospital food. They also make it really easy with your chart online, with checking in and out. I was even able to precheck in weeks before my last delivery so there weren't a ton of papers to fill out when the time came. I highly recommend Woman's Hospital. I know I am always in good hands at Woman's. read more

the staff was so rude and unfriendly their policy's are outdated they wouldn't let anyone use the waiting room so people were sitting on the floor and they kept cracking jokes about it. they don't allow children visitors but let everyone sit on the floor intead of the 50 chairs in the waiting room. they also ignore requests for information On the computer to be changed if I could give the zero stars I would I've been to so many better hospitals Please chose Somewhere else read more

I absolutely love Womens. I've been going there since I started seeing an obgyn first Dr was super nice he even delivered me as a baby which is crazy lmao but when I got pregnant I switched to a prenatal Dr and she is the sweetest women I've ever met she helps me so much and is so caring and never writes anything off. Even when she is not to concerned about something she doubles checks and makes sure everything is going smoothly for me and has made me feel very comfortable especially with going to these appointments alone due to covid . I've experienced a few complications through my pregnancy with starting to dialate at 26 weeks she kept me in the hospital for about 2 1/2 days checked me about 3 times while I was there got me to see the high risk drs and and did everything she could to make me and my baby feel comfortable. Around 3-4 weeks later I got to about 3 1/2 - 4 cm and haven't dialated since and I'm currently 34 weeks . Even while staying in the hospital those days I received the best care day and night. The women there work hard to keep their patients happy and treat them good! They even checked up on me when I got home and sent me a letter in the mail!! I can not wait to deliver and have such a great experience with the most amazing dr and nurses by my side ! read more

They almost killed me, sent my baby home from NICU who almost died 3 days later had I not noticed how silent and dazed she was and rushed her to OLOL Childrens where she was critical, bleeding from the stomach with lover and kidney failure and was told to pray because it was in God's hands for next 24 hours. Thankfully she pulled through. We have been there a month and 2 weeks at Childrens. PT, speech therapy (for nipple sucking) and anyone you can think of all came to see her and check on her. This was after her first week and a half at NICU, then transitioned to universal care wjere she bets lans every other day, aeees infectious disease drs etc. I spend 13 hours a day there with her while daddy works. Never got to enjoy my body going thru its changes at home in comfort with her. NICU at womans basically induced me, broke my water, put the epidural in, i felt nothing, no pain, no contractions and was silent while pushing. I was so over medicated my body temp dropped tp 94 degrees and they were so focused on her, it took my fiance to realize I wasnt saying anything and got their attention. They covered me with a tube of heat that goes around my body then 6 blankets and 4 around my head. I kept hearing him say please wake open your eyes listen tp Laylah shes crying. Nurses had no odea why I was blacking out N finally came out of my blackout and was normal 3 hours later. They also never tested my Baby in NICU knowing I have liver problems and possibly kidney issues (found out at time of preg and couldmt be treated till after). Which is why I was high risk and seeing maternal fetal medicine. My actual OB never did much during our visits but ask how I was n that was it. Induced at 37 weeks due to fetal restricted growth. And 2 day before my post partum checkup he emails me and says " I am resigning effective immeditley my wife and I are moving to Tennessee, please find a new provider" Like...what. Womans was told to me to be the best as I am from MI and was let down after let down. No birth plan, dad didnt get to cut the cord, i almost died if my fiance didn't notice the over medication. And NICU released her after 4 days that they could have at least run a blood panel on her that even children's hospital cant understand why it wasnt done. Im not saying dont go. Please dont go there. I get being a nurse isn't the easiest job in the world but their nurses are straight up rude and neglectful. Their obgyns arent held to any standard. Mine was awful during my pregnancy and straight up neglectful. My pregnancy was hard from week 12 when my diagnosis of cholestatis came and I had to go see a maternal fetal medicine doctor. But towards the end I started having more issues and the doctor straight up ignored me. I called her one day from work when by my ear I had poped a pimple and it bleed horribly for 15 minutes. A vet at my work said she thought it could be blood pressure but I was written off anyway. Less then a week later I was laying in bed and got little like star things in my vision and got light headed. My doctor wrote this off too. I ended up having to be induced at 37 weeks due to the cholestatis and that's where I messed up I should have changed doctors and hospitals but i was hopeful since it was a womans that they would be more understanding towards women issues. WRONG. Labor and delivery nurses were good. One kinda gave me attitude when the epidural only worked on one side of my body. But even then they just upped it and we kept going. Fast forward 19 hours later. I went from 6cm to 10cm in like an hour which was good. We went to have my daughter and she was facing the wrong way but bonadona still wanted to try. We tried until my daughter's heart rate started crashed. Then ran to emergency c section. Everything went good and we were moved to mother baby for the 3 day recovery after. The first day was a Thursday and it went okay. I was sore and didnt wanna walk much but I tried my best. Friday came around and I was struggling to get out of bed and I couldnt stand anything touching my stomach. Nurses kept arguing and saying I wasnt trying. I kept trying to explain I was I just didnt have the strength. They wanted to do something but I couldnt roll on my side for the nurse to and instead of understanding I was clearly trying. As i had rolled almost half way there i was just struggling cause everytime my stomach touched the bed i cried. She got annoyed said she had other patients and left. Came back an hour later and told my husband he could do it. We do it and it does nothing. Still couldnt pass gas or poop. They kept saying I needed to walk and I really tried but I couldnt. Friday night I started throwing up. Saturday came and my doctor came in to check on me and was upset the nurse never mentioned i was throwing up to her. My doctor helped me out of bed so i could try to walk. She noticed how swollen my stomach looked and how hard it was for me. She ordered a bunch of test. (The cn who brought me to x ray was super rude and got mad at me for crying when we hit a bump in the hall) Sunday came and I met a general surgeon who informed me they would place a picu line and get me into surgery to do a colonoscopy. To try to release some of the gas that was built up in my stomach. When they laid me flat I complained I could barely breathe but the nurse kept arguing with me it was just anxiety. After they finished they took me to surgery and kicked my husband and baby out and told him he couldnt return with her but could come alone. (Due to covid) after the surgery I woke up in picu I think they call it. I was told I needed to pee in a bed pan laying down or they would place a catheter. (I couldnt pee laying down) so they did a few hours later I woke up and then a few moments after I couldnt breathe I was hyperventilating. So they sedated me and placed a ventilator. They did surgery monday and finally fixed my colon. It was really infected. They put me in covid isolation after because of something weird they say on my lungs? (Despite testing negative) once they got a test saying I tested negative they moved me back to picu and after that it was a lot better. The next morning they moved me to surgery recovery floor. And the nurses were amazing there. All of them were sweet and helpful. The only thing is they wouldnt let me see my daughter. Which is really hard on a mother who just had her baby and couldt spend time with her. I was released the Saturday (10 days of hospitalized) but still had really bad pneumonia and had to see 3 doctors. 2 every week and 1 every other week. For 2 months till I recovered. I still am upset and feel hurt and betrayed by womens and Louisiana legislators. Because Louisiana legislators decied to protect horrible nurses and doctors like this by granting them extra protection during covid. Despite none of these nurses or doctors being affected by covid directly as none worked emergency rooms or covid rooms. I will never get justice but I will keep screaming my story on every platform read more

Every doctors appointment I have had I have been on time and I have to wait for over a hour to be seen. If you schedule with them make sure you clear out your day. The first time I went for a ultrasound the lady at the front desks was rude and waited over a hour to be seen. Another time they took me to the back room at the assessment center and the nurse was extremely rude and cut me off while I was speaking. The lady at check in was very nice though. I waited for over a hour for the doctor to come in the room. This will definitely be my last time coming to womens. read more

I came in to do a glucose test on 3/17/2020 in the physicians office on the first floor. A blonde haired lady called me back along with another woman she called at the same time. I was supposed to have my blood taken at 9:40. She took a long time with the other lady and I sat waiting in a back room. When she finally got to me, she stuck me 4 times and missed. On the 5th time she finally got it but I was worried my test would be messed up and she said it would be ok. But I was about 20 minutes late when she came to get my blood. I asked for another nurse, but she kept saying she would get it. I've never gotten stuck that many times before. Other than that the wait to get registered wasn't long and the ladies at the front desk were all nice. I still love this hospital, but I'd recommend to avoid that nurse. My arm has been hurting for days. read more

I have never had an uncomfortable or bloody pap smear until yesterday. Dr. Edward Schwartzenburg cut me with the speculum and didn't notice I was hurting. I don't think he lubricated it at all. At the end, he repeatedly told me bleeding was normal after a pap smear which nobody has ever told me before in my 20 year of getting them, so I shouldn't have been surprised when I was dressing that I was bleeding profusely. I fainted, dry heaved, and will never be back. It's been 2 days and I am still hurting and bleeding, both from the heavy handed cervical scrape and the tears in my vagina. read more

I am seeing the OBGYN office for my second pregnancy and this was my experience. The hospital is clean and the desk staff are friendly. However, the wait times are ridiculous. If I have an ultrasound, a blood test and a meeting with the doc, I'm here for literally 4 hours. Just a meeting with the doc took me a full hour. I was seeing Dr. Solar and he is most certainly not my favorite. I feel like he is very bad at listening to what I am feeling and my concerns and very dismissive in a way that if my concerns aren't concerning to him they just aren't relevant. I never lost all my baby weight from my first pregnancy so I started this pregnancy at 175 lbs. Keeping my weight down has been a struggle for me since my first pregnancy and Dr. Solar basically lectured me on how my first child was too big and I need to make this baby smaller or the same size. My first baby was 8lbs,7 oz and literally one of the healthiest to walk the planet. And she was born 1 week early. I feel like I am a number and an easy check off the list for this doctor as I do not have any underlying serious medical concerns and overall am very young and healthy. I cannot speak for the other doctors in this practice but I'm moving states so I'm changing offices entirely. Anyways, I felt the need to leave this review because sitting here at my last apt today, I realized that this is the first apt I've gained weight (I'm 17 weeks) and I feel like I'm just waiting for his judgement. He is very insensitive and just simply says well eat healthy protein and that's all. Doesn't ask about my diet or exercise. Overall I feel like he's an arrogant ass and shouldn't be doing this job. But hey what do I know. I'm not the one carrying the baby or anything. read more

Most of the nurse have not enough experience to take care of pregnancy patient, brand new building, rooms look like hotels room, but the service mostly sucks, I regret that I choose this place for my wife go to labor, my wife have to facing tremendous amount of pain, because most of the nurse here don't know how to do their job, my wife deliver thru emergency c-section and during the surgery the doctor accidentally cut my baby shoulder, they use us ask as student practice, I'm really disappointed on them, I wish they can do better, if you want your beloved one deliver a baby here, make sure long before the due date, you will have a fixed doctor and nurse, who will take care of you 100% not some student practician read more

I can't say enough kind words about the amazing staff at Women's hospital! I had been a patient of Kristin Chapman for many years and she caught some precancerous cells very early for me and treated me quickly so I never had any problems with it. Plus every time I went in for am regular check up, she remembered me! Then when I was pregnant and a week before my first appointment, I started bleeding and was scared to death I was having a miscarriage. I called the office and the staff went out of their way to accommodate me and got me in for an ultrasound immediately. Then Dr. Chapman took the time to come talk to me and explain what was happening. The baby turned out to be ok and she gave me a big hug and encouraged me. For every appointment, she listened to what I had to say, took all my concerns into account, took plenty of time to answer my questions, explain all my options, and treated my husband like an equal partner in the appointment. Then at 20 weeks, during my routine ultrasound, we discovered our sweet baby boy had no heartbeat. The staff was so kind and understanding. They took us straight to a private room so we could cry and Dr. Chapman came to see us very quickly. She hugged me and let me cry and then explained all our options. I was admitted into the hospital portion of woman's that night and was treated with empathy and gentle care by all the staff. My nurses were all amazing and encouraging and made sure I got what I needed. Dr. Chapman even took time out of her day to come over to the hospital and check on me. Then when I was finally dial acted, Dr. chapman delivered my son herself. The staff cleaned up his little body and had tiny clothes ready to dress him! The nurses took pictures for us that I treasure to this day and even made tiny hand and footprints of our baby. They treated him like a person. I can't express how much that meant to me. Even when the time came when I had to leave the hospital, the nurses held my son and lovingly rocked him and promised to take care of him until we could bury him. Not only did they do all this, but Dr. Chapman personally called me at least twice to check on me and talk about test results. The nursing staff sent me three handwritten cards in the mail and called me just to see how I was doing months later! This is an amazing hospital and I can't imagine going through a still birth without the loving care and support of Dr. Chapman and her nurses. Highly recommend!!! read more

99% of staff we met super friendly and helpful. Only one nurse showed her bad colors when my daughter was in labor and delivery area and ask questions which required the nurse to get up and come into the room..unfortunately the nurse did not attempt to hide her great annoyance! My daughter came in on June 20, 2014 in labor. Things went great until she told the nurse doing her assessment she did not want blood. The nurse asked if she was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and my daughter said no. I don't want blood. This nurse came over to my daughter grabbed her hand got in her face and said look at me..I want you to look me in the eye and tell me you'd rather die than take blood. My daughter said I don't want blood once again the nurse got in her face and said look me in my eye and tell me you'd rather die than take blood. The next thing came when my daughter was told to soak her stitches when she got home (she stayed extra days as the baby was in nicu.). The nurse said we don't have tubs in our rooms. I had a flashback to my hospital room in 1973 when I had my first child. There was a specially made small tub for new moms to soak their bottoms. So I couldn't believe 2014 at a Woman's hospital couldn't compare! Also the phone in the room did not work had to be replaced. The shower head was broken and maintenance had to be called. We had no menu in room and in the excitement of the baby, realized my daughter received no food so she bought her food that day. She made it clear she wanted to breast feed and was not told the baby was being bottle fed in conjunction with the ng tube being used. She was not shown at the beginning how to use the breast pump to help her milk come in. I must say the lady from lactation dept was fabulous when she did come and finally told my daughter if she gotten breast milk the Nicu could have mixed it with enfamil and bottle fed it to the baby. Great spaghetti in cafeteria. Very bad cakes and pies. All things considered we got a beautiful baby...thanks! read more
