If…read moreyou hate the place, then hopefully you've taken your child out of it -- if you love the place, then your child stays. There's really no middle ground to it. I love this place. After months of searching through various day care places we put this place at the top and signed up for the waiting list. Within a few months they found a spot for our kid in a group that was slightly older than we felt he should have been in - but they reassured us that they'd monitor his adjustment and if it didn't work out they'd bump him down to the lower group. Fortunately the kid adjusted well to the older group and two years later he's still thriving at Hudgens. One of the primary reasons we chose Hudgens is because it's a 'teaching' daycare facility. Being attached to the Gwinnett Tech college they serve as a model for students taking early education and child development courses. To be clear - they have to maintain the same non-student teachers/caretakers that any other daycare has to maintain BUT they also have additional staff in the form of students in a learning environment. So every 3 or 4 months I see some of the aux caretakers change out but my kid's core teachers always stay the same. This is good because a kid like mine craves consistency - over the three years of classes he's been in there has only been one incident where we felt the turnover was becoming an issue (main teacher went on maternity leave and subs moved in and out fairly regularly) - we mentioned something to the management and they addressed the issue. Another plus - they listen to parent input. A side benefit of being at Hudgens is the access to state-provided pre-k when your child gets a little older - the kids who are already there get first pick of the limited lottery funded seats. Year in and out, through three sets of teachers - our child has grown at Hudgens. He has always been cared for and we've never questioned our decision to have them care for him during the day. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

This was the second child care facility that my daughter attended. She was between 12 months and…read more18 months when she was here. I would say that we were naive in selecting a child care facility. Hudgens was very affordable and in a convenient location at the time. Also, they are a teaching facility and teach child care development to others. So we thought what a great place. My daughter was only here a couple of months before the management began suggesting occupational therapy for our daughter. They had diagnosed my daughter with autism. Being that they teach early child development, we took their opinion seriously. We brought this to the attention of our pediatrician. Our pediatrician could not disagree more. She claimed that our daughter was fine developmentally and behaviorally. She warned us that treating a child as if they have autism at such an early age could eventually cause behavior similar to autism and recommend that we remove our child from Hudgens. In summary, she basically suggested that Hudgens was probably having a difficult time with my daughter because she did not conform to the expectations and the use of occupational therapy would acclimate her to the style of Hudgens. Our pediatrican suggested the reason why our daughter was not conforming to the Hudgens style was because she was likely more advanced than what Hudgens expected. We approached Hudgens with our pediatricians opinions and they basically said that they knew better than the pediatrican and were collectively more experienced. However, they agreed to place my daughter into an older class to see how she would do. She actually did better, but it was about a month later that they again approached us about occupational therapy. At this point, we took our pediatricians advice and left Hudgens. We would try out a few more daycares before ending up at Peachtree Park Prep. Hudgens was a learning experience for us as new parents. I would never send any other children here and I would not recommend it to anyone. My daughter is now 6 years old and does not have autism. At PPP, the children were all very much like her. At Hudgens, it was clear that she was different. In hindsight, it is clear that my daughter wasn't a good fit for Hudgens and the teachers did not know what to do with her because she developed faster than the other children. Its a pity that they instead thought she was autistic. Now having said that, it isn't like my daughter was some kind of prodigy or savant. Hudgens just isn't very good at helping children to excel. It is a teaching facility and that is their priority, education of the staff not the children.

This is a very long, honest and detailed review…read more My kids went to this daycare from June 2016 thru July 2018. I loved this daycare initially and recommended it to everyone. Around July 2017 the daycare came under new ownership and from that point on I had nothing but issues. The new owners care nothing for your child's well being and only care about money. There were always pay issues. There was rarely a time when my billing was correct and I would have to tell the staff multiple times to correct the issue. I was constantly overcharged. They overcharged me once by $2.50 and had the nerve to charge me a late fee on top of it when I didn't pay the incorrect balance. They fired their cook (I guess to save money) and started feeding the kids junk food. I walked in one morning and they were feeding the kids pop tarts and applesauce for breakfast. That is not breakfast. That is sugar. When I asked about it I was told the cook was on "vacation" (a vacation she never returned from) and that pop tarts were in fact a menu item. I'm not paying y'all over 2 grand a month for pop tarts. The turnover rate w teachers was very high and many of the teachers had no business being in childcare. They were only there for a check. I saw issues on the cameras that I brought up to the owner and he basically brushed me off and refused to show me the cameras. All of the original teachers from when my children started were fired and the new teachers were trash. No one lasted more than a few months because the teachers didn't like the owners. My daughter's class had 3 teachers but somehow everyday when I arrived at the daycare her face was dirty and her diaper needed to be changed. After the children woke up from nap time, the teachers wouldn't change them anymore for the day. They would just turn the iPads to YouTube videos and sit the children in front of it until the parents came to pick them up. They care nothing about your child's health. My son was bit 43 times by fire ants at the daycare and the daycare showed no remorse or care and didn't bother w getting the yard treated. I told them my son was severely allergic to fire ants and gave them his epipen and the owner told me he needed to "double check" if fire ant allergies were real . My son ended up having another episode where he was bit due to them not treating their yard but no one from the daycare informed me that my son was bit by fire ants that he's know to be ALLERGIC TO. When I brought it up to the owner she stared at me. They never even wrote an incident report. My child was bitten by another child multiple times and they never sent an incident report about that either. My son even told the owner himself that the child bit him. And the owner ignored him not realizing I was watching. When I asked him about it he said he was unsure of what my son was saying. I told him my son was holding his arm and saying "he bit me". It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. Every issue I had w the daycare I brought up w he front desk and the owners personally and I never felt that my concerns were taken seriously. I started looking for a new daycare for my children a few months before actually removing them but was unable to thoroughly vet centers after this horrific experience due to my school and work schedule but I am thankful now to have found a center that I can trust and feel more comfortable leaving my children. I initially loved this daycare and had hopes that things would turn around but unfortunately they never did. The positives to this daycare were it's location, size, the fact that it is a lot newer than other centers and the camera access. However, until there are owners and staff in place that care about your children and can be trusted this place should be avoided at all costs.

The pre-K here is Georgia Funded and it's on a first come basis. So they set a date early in the year and you pretty much come by 7 or something to stand in line and hope you get a spot. They have a few different classrooms with different start times. You can request a certain time if it works better for you. So far my daughter has been there for a few weeks and she loves it. I ask her everyday what she thinks and she never has a bad thing to say. They learn different things on a weekly basis. We're only on week 3 so I can't really comment on the learning aspect. They have optional internet monitoring. You pay extra for it if you want it. It's not the best but it's cheap. You can't watch the video on a MAC or on a newer 64 bit computer so you better have an old one. Luckily my father had one. :) The video you see is in one corner of the room your child is in and that's all you get. But to be honest, its okay to check in every once in a while. In my opinion you shouldn't be glued to the video at home anyway. You should have a little trust.

Those teachers are amazing and push into the classroom in elementary school. the teachers are supportive, communicative, and available accessible and connected with our kids. My kids are involved in sports music, dance, arts , theater. There are a lot of opportunities to be outward facing service projects, mission trips. While I appreciate that, my kids are taught the Bible and a relationship with Jesus and the teachers reflect that my kids also have a diverse group of friends that come from different religious backgrounds, economic, backgrounds, and political backgrounds, which aren't emphasized, but there is a variety of demographic. My son instance has friends that are Hindi, Punjabi, agnostic. My kids are taught not just about Christian world views, but different religious world views, different scientific views like evolution in biology (which someone for some reason said they aren't taught) and they're taught from a scientific standpoint not trying to dispute the scientific theory. As rhe get older, they have opportunities to question, debate, express their opinions in different classes and that's encouraged because they don't want the kids to be programmed robots. As I stated earlier, their families of different economic backgrounds, but that is not something that is known or something that at least for my kids they don't care if they have a lot of money or don't have a lot of money. It's just not important in the grand scheme of things. They have a diverse group of friends and I find that a lot of my friends kids find their niche. They find their people because there's so much variety and diversity. Well, they do a annual fun fundraiser. You could donate a dollar and still participate with zero judgment or not at all. There is a level of understanding from learning disabilities to economic to religious backgrounds that is accepted without judgment. Of course there's gonna be jerk kids at every school, but that's the minority and not the majority.

The principal exhibits unprofessional behavior, often lacking empathy and coming across as condescending. The school seems more focused on profit than on providing quality education. With a tuition of $360 a week, the extra charges are staggering--such as a $75 fee for being just 15 minutes late for pickup. Also a late payment clause that adds $35 to your tuition if you're late. After only two weeks into my son attending the school, the school's sign was removed due to regulations, leaving the building looking rundown and neglected. It raises questions about where all the money is actually going. Most troubling was the termination of my son's enrollment. After being late on one payment, I was not given any opportunity for discussion or understanding. This lack of communication and the abruptness of the decision are concerning. I urge other parents to thoroughly read and understand their contradicting contract. Because although they have a late payment clause my contract was terminated for a late payment. Do deeper research on Mrs. Erica Gwyn before you send your child to her school. Look on Glassdoor and Greatschools.org and you'll get the truth about who she really is. Don't make the same mistake I made. The principal displays unprofessional behavior, often lacking empathy and coming across as condescending. After digging deeper, I found reviews from others who have worked with her in the past, confirming her unpredictability and unprofessionalism. If you dont like the look and skin colors of the intellectual parents you cannot manipulate, surely you couldn't genuinely care for their offspring. Be careful not to leave your children around people so miserable they refuse to provide or heat up food for a 17 month old enrolled at their "school" with a tuition. This is optional childcare before grade school and these are the type of people that make you want to keep your kid home schooled.

My 1 year old is also greatly benefiting from this environment, at 15 months she has shown me how capable even a toddler can be. She feeds herself independently, can drink from a cup, is working on dressing herself, "helps" me with chores and takes great pride in showing me what she can do. The teachers or "guides" are all wonderful and truly care about your children. I strongly recommend this school to anyone.
