The final cost actually came in a little bit under the low-end of the quote. It was a townhouse move to a Second floor condo in a neighboring city. The guys showed up a few minutes late (nothing horrible), and they worked like crazy. I mean really fast. They were all super nice! I wasn't quite done packing they said let us take whatever we can because it is easier for us than you. And, boy was that right. My advice to you if your moving when it gets close to the day just throw the rest of your stuff in boxes, because he was right it was easier for them than for us. Highly recommend these guys. And, would use them again with no hesitation.

When they inevitably can't do the job in the time frame given to them, you are then forced to pay an additional fee. I was given a quote of $1,800 to move a 2 bd home from East Lansing to Chicago. After I called to let them know that I had a lot of books and thought the quote was too low, the owner raised it to $2,000 without ever coming to see my things. On the day of the move, they only sent two guys, who worked extremely hard to try to load everything within the time window. Unfortunately, once they got to Chicago, their Ryder truck was too tall to clear under the El tracks, so they spent several hours driving around looking for another way to get to my neighborhood. By the time they were done unloading, it was 11pm, and I was charged an additional $1,400 above the original quote, plus I paid the guys a good tip for all their hard work. I should note, I was not provided with any kind of contract in advance and was asked to pay the flat rate prior to booking. That and the low bid should have alerted me that something was off. I also think the company should have been able to find a truck-friendly route in advance, since they had the destination address. I should not have been forced to pay $1,400 extra for the fact that they used a super tall rental truck and didn't use a trucker-friendly route. In summary, I ended up paying pretty much what I expected, but the whole situation was a poorly planned bait and switch that made for an extremely stressful move. You never want to hear the moving crew say "we should have brought a bigger truck." The quote was around $2500-$2800, but we were only charged about half of that because they ran out of truck before we ran out of stuff. One of the movers told me they didn't like moving televisions, couldn't I just take that 80" TV in my car because they didn't have the proper equipment with them to move them. They made one load and we spent the next 4 days lifting and moving stuff in our vehicles--something we tried to avoid by hiring movers. This service was not worth the high cost of having to move things ourselves. We had used the service twice before, but never again.

They were absolutely amazing to work with. And they took extra caution with all of our stuff & was extremely respectful! Even called in a 3rd person who showed up on the spot & was more than helpful! They took the time to see exactly where we wanted everything, despite the mishap from our u-haul that we got stuck. Wesley, the owner even came back a week later to help put some things together that Mark couldn't do on his own! I would use these guys again & I would highly recommend them for your move.
