Robert was a referral from my next door neighbor. I saw how quickly they finished the roof a few…read moreyears ago at a competitive price so I decided to reach out for a quote. He came by, spent about 10 min walking around, rang the doorbell and gave me a sheet of paper with the quote. Easy and painless as that. I asked for roof quote and got exactly what I wanted. He did not need to come inside or make me listen to a 2 hr sales pitch. I've had at least 2 other companies who tried to do that when I was getting a roof for the quote. 1 of them gave me a quote on sidings instead. The other did not even give me a quote because I decided to kick them out after half an hr. After getting some other quotes I decided to go with Robert and he agreed to come out 2 weeks later. His crew came on time as promised but he wasn't physically there until the end of the day. Overall his crew was efficient. They finished within 1 day as promised. The shingles looked okay, not as flat or even like our neighbors but it appeared to be just fine. They finished the roof before a big snow storm and rain/wind storm within the same week. It was able to withstand everything just fine and no noticeable water leak or anything in the attic. I did discovered a small chipped wood area in the attic which I can see some of the underlayment and shingles but water was not getting through or anything. I will continue to monitor. They actually was supposed to install the chimney as well forgot so they returned a few days later to complete it as promised. Overall fantastic job from Robert and his crew. From the quoting process to the fast efficient work. Cosmetically the shingles could have looked a bit better and more even but functionally it seems to have served its purpose and was worth it for the price I paid.

He said we are looking at a wait time of 4-5 weeks but he will do his best to expedite it. And just like that, he worked his magic behind the scene and they were ready to put on a new roof for me in one week!! The team showed up on a Thursday morning and finished the entire roof project by Friday night. Dan Essay the project supervisor is on site for the entire two days and even showed up on a 3rd day to walk around the property to make sure there is no loose ends. He went out of his way to beg the dumpster company to come on a weekend. He is the most professional, experienced roofer, and a great genuine communicator. I was surprised to see that the ratings were much lower on yelp. I proceeded anyways because I was already on the phone as I was reading the reviews here. They got Mike, the owner next day to provide a quote. There was some slight mis communication with the timing but regardless he inspected my roof for about 10-15 minutes and emailed me over the quote at night. Overall the price quoted was reasonable, I did not move forward with O'lyn Roofing but I did appreciate them making the quote process easy and painless. I have gotten quotes from 2 other companies and they would make me sit through 60-90min presentation before just giving me a number. In one case I cut them off at 30min and they left without giving me a quote, instead insisted to reschedule another 30min to talk. No one have time for all that! Mike seems like a decent guy, straight to the point based on my short interactions with him and the quote process. Although I did not move forward with them for this particular project, I will keep them in mind if anything changes or if any other projects come up down the line.

I was a little skeptical at first, especially when I saw so…read moremany positive reviews on Yelp (it seems like every company gets trashed on here at some point, or they do something to remove bad reviews). After speaking to a few roofing companies, I decided to go with Kavanaugh, because I saw a lot of their signs around Westwood and Norwood and, unlike some of the other roofers I met with, they did not trash the competition. They also had a great price and were really fast to return phone calls and answer questions. I also appreciated that they provided their insurance and license information up front. When it came to the work, they were in and out in one day. They did a great job and it could not have been easier to work with Paul. My wife and I both work in Boston, so it was going to be tough to be home when all the work was being done, but Paul did not mind and his team did everything quickly, efficiently and professionally. The whole process felt more like I was dealing with someone I had known for a long time rather than a big faceless company. I strongly recommend Kavanaugh Roofing and hope that they continue to maintain this high level of customer service.

My husband and I had originally called Paul back in January to get an estimate to redo the roof on…read morethe house we had just bought in Norwood. Paul came out right away and left an estimate- he was the most reasonable of all the other estimates we got. We actually got married this June, and between moving into our new home and planning for the wedding, the roof was pushed aside. Once our wedding was done, we called Paul in late June to see if we could reconnect. Paul immediately remembered which house we lived in (months later!), and mentioned that we may need to repair our skylight. He said he would stop by to inspect the skylight and leave roof samples so we could pick out the color we wanted. Not only did he call back to let me know that the skylight was not an immediate need (he knew we didn't have much money over the estimate to spend), but he was also honest about the different types of roofing materials- as in, what the "Good", "Better", and "Best" meant- and what he would suggest. Paul said he would get back to us in a couple of weeks- he had a few other jobs scheduled before ours. However, two days later (a Wednesday), he called to say another job had to be rescheduled, and that he could begin the next day and be done by the weekend! My husband and I were shocked and so happy! Paul and his crew came on Thursday afternoon, with a dumpster, and were able to remove half of the roof. My husband and I weren't even home- they came while we were at work. The next morning (Friday), they showed up promptly at 6:30AM, and the crew worked right through until noon. They were completely done in less than two full days. The crew was very professional! Paul was there the whole time working, and everyone was very friendly (I was home all day Friday). We have Directv (a dish), and one of his workers even tried to recalibrate it for me so that our cable would work (it was being finicky- not his fault!) The cost was exactly as Paul had quoted- not one dollar more- and he told me about a few extra things that they did- replaced some of the warped wood boards, insulated the front bay window, and sealed the skylight, just in case. Our roof came out excellent, and we are so pleased with the work Paul and his crew did. They were incredibly efficient, even working through a brief period of rain. I will be adding photos once I take some of the outside. The new roof has changed the look of our home. One of his crew members even came back a few days later with a magnet-type stick to pick up any nails left behind. I doubt we will have any more roofing needs in the near future, but we could not recommend Kavanaugh roofing more!
