Wide selection of meat. Although I was looking for a certain cut my attendant was pleasing and suggested a comparable one. No hassles or disappointments during my purchase. Definitely will be back when I'm in town. read more

Cooking Is open 10:30 am - 2pm and 7 pm-10 pm We had the strip loin its about sinewy and medium well not too well. They ran out of lamb chop which I heard was good. Also heard salmon is good. As per with all of their other branches, the quality of meats served are above average, and they have ensured to have a streamlined menu that both doesn't confuse the customers, while lessening the chances of a meal going wrong due to incompatibilities of the selection. On this trip, I got the rib eye steak, my brother got the T-bone steak, mum got a spicy sausage and my sister got a cheese filled sausage. To top it off, we got grilled bacon with mash just in case we were still hungry after that. They were all good, but if I had to choose the lowest ranked dish, it would be the cheese sausage.

It's a mini grocery…read more When my mom is too lazy to go to the market and when the maid can't be sent alone, I have the unfortunate task of going to Monterey Meat Shop. Don't get me wrong, this place is really convenient for those who live in the area. They have meat (obviously), vegetables, cooking oil, herbs, noodles, different sauces and ice cream. (I only go for the ice cream.) If you're a senior citizen (like my mom), don't worry if you forgot your senior citizen ID. They have all the senior citizens who live in the area and frequent the shop fill up a form. The cashier will just ask you for your last name, does some math and you get your discount. Another great thing about this little shop is that they accept all major credit cards. Don't have a credit card? You can use your ATM or debit card. Sorry, they don't make 'pa-utang' or 'pa-lista' though. Oh, and they accept reservations! Last Christmas, we needed chicken to make relleno. They didn't have any that day, but they said if you put in an order the day before you need it (your chicken or meat), they'd have it for you the next day.

If you're looking for premium quality meats and cuts head to my favorite butchers at Green Farm…read moreMeat shop where you can buy not just meats, but ingredients, seasoning, sauces, beverages and even uncooked rice. What's amazing is that their products are more affordable than local markets, mini marts or supermarkets. I like buying here for the reason that; there are no lines, no hassle and very fast service. It's already my routine in the morning that I stop by Green Farm to acquire the freshest meats to cook for my family's meal. I appreciate that the store is always squeaky clean and spotless; and doesn't smell like stored cold meat. Meats are kept in large hygienic refrigerators and other merchandise is placed on shelves with clear sliding glass, so no need to dust off the dirt off of the product. 13.

They advertised an anniversary promo where they offered 50% off some dishes on August 1. Around 10pm July 31, our group ordered some bottles of alcohol and patiently waited for the clock to strike 12, therefore making it August 1. Come midnight, we tried ordering the discounted dishes but we were informed that the promo would start the next day. We tried to talk to the manager, who sarcastically suggested that they could write down the time during August 1 when the promo would take effect. If they wanted to offer the discount only after they open on the day itself, they should have indicated that in their callouts.

Thinking we were still sober and feeling like our level of buzz was rather subpar, we decided to grab one last drink for the road at Butcher Shop. When my friend and I walked in around midnight (indeed, Cinderellas we are not) we found ourselves seats right at the bar. We meant business. Cue serious quick-act-like-you're sober faces. What I liked about the servers here is that they humored us. Service was prompt and the staff was very friendly. Sadly I don't remember their names but I remember we both ordered a single shot of something each, and we were given an additional two glasses full of one of their vodka-based cocktails with orange juice. Needless to say we overestimated our drinking capacities because we could barely get to the halfway mark on our cocktails. Embarrassed and even more so inebriated, we decided to ask for the bill. When we finally received our totals we were surprised to find that the cocktails were on the house. Yippee! If you're doubtful about my experience, I can confidently tell you that the service was the same when I came back a couple weeks later, far more sober than the first time. Prices are slightly towards the pricey side but not as bad as other joints. I would come back here again for a quick drink if I found myself in the area again.

To be made to wait till the Philippine customers are all served first is quite upsetting. It does happen in some other places where foreigners are hated (e.g. Barangay places). This place is really nothing short of heavenly. I come here when I'm in need of specialty product such as truffle oil or a special type of cheese that I want guaranteed 100 percent fresh. Of course, everybody comes here for the fresh meat or fish. I personally love their cold cuts although I'm trying to reduce my meat intake at the moment. Whether you're in search of European chocolates, imported snacks, or the cheapest or most expensive bottle of wine you can find, this is the place to look for it.

I was in Makati more often, but they didn't have the sundried tomatoes I was looking for when I was there. Good thing I found them in San Juan as these are the sweetest sundried tomatoes I have ever bought (I wonder if the restaurants serving salads and pasta with delicious sundried tomatoes also use Santi's?), as some of the ones I tried before were sour. It's almost a shame to mix it in my pasta sauce - it was good enough to eat alone or as a topping for salads and other dishes. I'm not really a meat person, but I was fascinated to see the different cold cuts in the store. But of course, what really drew my curiosity was the different kinds of cheese, though I haven't tried one yet. Everything looks gourmet, just as a gourmet shop should.
