I have to give Primo 3 starts because they gave me a good laugh. I get a text "Woo hoo! You earned Free Gift Bag for your last visit to Primo Liquors - DAVIE. txt OFF to stop" from their rewards program. So In my head I'm thinking what can be in this bag. I go to the store to claim my "gift bag" and was literally just a small pink nylon mesh bag. So it was my bad reading to much into it. I would have given them 4 stars in it was a nice bag, and 5 stars in there was anything in the bag. read more

I have been faithful customer of Primo Liquors in Davie (Stirling Rd) for years. Today I went in and they have new staff that harassed me to the point that I did not want to shop. I was prepared to spend several hundred $$ on my Christmas list but I was followed around the store. The cashier took my items and hurriedly rang them up not allowing me time to browse and make my selections. I do not live near this location but went out of my way to frequent this location because of the nice staff. No longer the case, I will be frequenting the liquor store near me in Weston. The attitude of the staff is a make or break for me. I felt that because my husband and I are Hispanic we were racially targeted. Avoid this liquor store!!! read more

Let me set up the situation here. I'm standing outside of this liquor store attached to the Publix shopping center, large cart full of adult beverages that I can't push into the store. So I'm standing outside peering into the door trying to look at the selection while holding onto my cart of goods. My homie Daniel from inside the store sees my struggle. He walks towards the door and I think I'm about to get yelled at for loitering or some nonsense, but he pushes the door open and says "Come on in! I'll help you bring your cart in!" And then the rest is the best liquor store experience I've ever had. They've got various tequila bottles that were available for tasting with or without the RIPE margarita mixer they've got on deck. AND THEY DELIVER FOR 5 bucks!!!! This place rocks. Daniel is amazing. And I'm glad I threw money into this establishment because it was all worth it. read more

This has become my go to liquor spot due to the close proximity from my house and the service they provide. It's not huge but they have a good selection of liquors and an impressive selection of wine at affordable prices. We actually showed up on a Friday night when they have free tastings but it was after the tasting. I was eyeing a gin I had never heard of and coincidentally they had just been sampling it at the tasting so they provided a sample for my boyfriend and I to try. Another person then helped us pick out a couple of wines and said if we ever wanted a specific one they could order and price matched. Hope to return for one of their tastings. Found this place with a quick Yelp search when BF was looking for some ginger beer to make some Moscow Mules. Evidently the grocery stores haven't caught on and most don't carry it, so it takes a special trip to grab some. So in here we went. This is a relatively small store and at first glance it looks like they would have no beer at all. Thankfully I decided to ask the clerk if they had ginger beer and they did, it was hiding off to the side in a place that I never would have thought to look on my own. He was super nice and super helpful, and ended up chatting with BF for several minutes even after we were finished with the transaction. Completely recommend this place even though I didn't have enough time to browse at their wine and liquor selection-it looks like they have a good amount and the service was wonderful, the price seemed to be right as well. By chance, my wife and I stopped in to pick a few bottles of wine for our hotel room. My professional occupation is an exacutive for a Foetune 500 retail company. We e train our 50,000 plus associates to execute the highest level of "Helpful" to every customer every time. Sam, the owner of Primo Liquors amazes every customer every time. Beyond being genuinely concerned for people, he is extremely knowledgeable about wine and takes significant pride in his business. Unfortunately I live in Denver, CO. so I can't patronize his business. If I were to live within 20 miles of Primo Liquors, that would be the only store to shop for wine. We moved to the area about a year ago and have been to this store a few times. Every time someone nice approaches us and asks if we need any help or have any questions. Not in a pushy way but just subtle to point me in the right direction of what I need so I'm not searching the entire store. Every member of the staff is very approachable and offers information on tastings or events. While a liquor store is not usually something where customer service matters, I have found this place to be very inviting. Thank you to the team and I look forward to going in more, especially for some of the rare macallan they have. I even saw a rare PEJU wine from Napa Valley that I have not seen in any other liquor store. read more

I have shopped at this store for quite some time, but I will never go back again. On 3/22 I purchased a bottle of Captain Morgan. When I opened the bottle the seal didn't feel right, almost like it had been tampered with, and the pour diffuser was not in place. The Rum didn't smell right either. Against my better judgement I tasted it...it was definitely watered down. I called Primo and was told they would replace the bottle and that it had been transferred in from a different retail store and not the supplier...? Primo was to call me when a replacement was ready...no call ever came. Today I went to exchange the bottle and spoke with the owner...every excuse in the book up to and including the fact that he has colon cancer...WTF. I left the crap liquor and will never return.
