I really like Primp, on a shopping expedition, I will go out of my way to stop here, yes, the clothes aren't the absolute top quality, but they are super affordable, and you get what you pay for, some of them are really beautiful. I dont always find something when I stop in, but I generally like a few things enough to actually try them on, be selective and you will not go wrong at this store. They only have 2 fitting rooms, so you will probably have to wait around a bit to try on something if they are busy, but I usually peruse the acessories while waiting and get in within a reasonable amount of time. It is great to find a place with rocking clothes and accessories that dont seriously break the bank, and the staff are always super helpful. read more

This is a welcome new addition to the neighborhood - definitely my favorite clothing store around. Everything is unique and incredibly cheap. They have lots of different coats - and they all seemed to be in the $40-50 range. For cute winter coats. $40. I had to try hard to limit myself to one. Warning that it's polyester/synthetic fabric galore here. The designs are cute, but I personally only stopped by once and did not buy anything because it did not make sense for me to spend $50 on a thin polyester dress. But if you're ok with that, then by all means visit. Price point of this boutique is the big draw. Most things, if not all, are under $100 and is quite affordable for those who want the boutique experience without being gouged for it. Sales associate was very helpful and even suggested accessories to go with the dress my friend tried. I think the owners staff the store most of the time, though I could be wrong. Selection is an edited version of Forever 21's more mature line Love 21. Lots of dresses when I went with a few seperates thrown in. Accessories are scattered around the room with a small display of purses when you walk in. Aesthetic leans toward fun/flirty weekend and free time wear over office appropriate clothing. If you work in fashion or something creative that allows a little more leeway with clothes, then you can shop here for a wardrobe, but if you work at a bank downtown, then it's going to be a one or two piece buy. read more

I had always past the shop on my way to work. so, when i got out of work early one day i decided to go and i was pleasantly surprised. It is so clean and organized. I love that they color code all the clothes. the staff that works there is so nice, they walk around and offer you assistant and make sure that you get a dressing room when you are ready. It is really nice that you don;t have to carry all the items around the store while waiting on a dressing room. The clothes are so cute and trendy i just love it! and if you don't see your size out on the floor or you are looking for something specific- ask an associate and they are very helpful in finding something that fits your style in the back. You cant beat the style, the price and the quality of the clothes here. Love! read more

This is a super cute little boutique on Selby. I love that that corner is becoming a place of interest again. Seriously, take a girlfriend with you some Saturday, get your coffee at Bars two doors down, shop for your boyfriends at BlackBlue, for yourself at Primp and then walk down to Mango Thai or La Belle Vie for lunch. Perfect! Anyway, the boutique is really cute and upscale feeling with gap prices. But the clothes are way more stylish than the gap. I would agree with Jennifer S....to a degree. Not the highest quality but it definitely is way above H&M or Forever21 quality. However, if you want AFFORDABLE style, this is the place. I will definitely be buying all of my seasonal must haves here. read more

Deliberately, I wandered into this shop on a recent Friday afternoon after meaning to stop a few times previously. In my small car, I was able to squeeze into a parking space curbside, just down the street about 100 feet from the shop. I walked into their propped-open front door. Seemed like a nice open and airy space. Good natural light streaming in from 2 walls of windows. There were maybe 2 or 3 other customers in the store. I strolled around the entire space browsing thru some items on each rack or display, and found some interesting pieces, all very reasonably priced; however, I didn't hold much confidence in the actual quality of the pieces. I'm one who, when I spend money on clothing, I want to feel like I'm getting something of comparable quality that's going to last for at least a few seasons and multiple washings. It also seemed there were 2 employees working and they were chatting like there was no one else in the store able to hear their conversation. Neither of them greeted me or ever asked me if I would like any assistance or to even simply tell me about this new shop. For this customer service experience alone, I will not likely return. read more

I love Primp but this location is by far my least favorite. The store manager is quite rude and overly talkative to the point where it's just annoying. My friend works here and had told me her store manager commented on my outfit after I was in the store. Not sure why she would feel the need to be disrespectful as I am a customer in your store. I will not be shopping at this location anymore. Would not recommend this location, but all the other Primp locations are quite nice and respectful. read more

Congratulations Primp Cheap-Chic Boutique on Selby Avenue, I know what you mean by "cheap" now. I will never shop at this place again. The clothes in this store are not good quality; I would not recommend shopping here. I was shopping there on Friday, November 25th for my first time and liked many of the tops there. I was really happy that there was a nice store that was only a couple of blocks away from my house. I purchased a few tops and they told me of their return policy, which was that I could return all clothes with tags on and the receipt within 7 days to receive money back. They told me after 7 days as long as you have the tags and the merchandise you could receive in store credit. I didn't really worry about it, because I tried everything on in the store and I knew it fit nice. As I was wearing one the shirts I noticed threads hanging loose. I could tell that my shirt was not worth the amount I paid for it. Later that night one of the threads snagged and tore a huge hole in the shirt. I was really frustrated and embarrassed, because I had just bought this shirt, it was already ruined, and I had to wear it with a hole in it for the rest of the night. On Friday, December 2nd (within 7 days) I brought the shirt in to show them what had happened. Both girls did not seem very apologetic and were not willing to do anything for me since I had already worn the shirt. They wouldn't even let me exchange it for a different one! I left feeling even more frustrated. They told me that I could e-mail the owners and see if they could do anything about that. I don't have time to jump through hoops to try to resolve something that should have been resolved the moment I had a problem with the clothing. I do not think the way they practice business is acceptable. I will not shop at a place that acts snobby towards their customers. Save yourself the frustration and don't shop here. read more

I love primp. I live close to this location on Selby and stop in every week or so. The products are always changing and so it's like walking into a different store every week. In the spring and summer, the dresses are to die for adorable. I wear dresses from their store all the time to work and I'm constantly getting compliments. Like others have said, some of the products are low quality, and most are hand wash or dry clean for this reason. I will say though, the majority of my wardrobe comes from primp and I adore each piece. A lot of people say primp is hit or miss, which I can agree with, but that's why the stock is ever changing. Come back in 2 weeks and you'll find something that you can't live with out. The only thing I wish they sold was jeans, then they would be a one stop shop (they already have adorable belts and accessories). I recommend primp to everyone who wants a quick closet update. read more

I love walking into this store, the staff is amazing and will instantly be there to assist - but is never pushy! Cute clothes for any occasion and any budget. I went to get clothes for a family reunion on Cape Cod, and got two camis, four shirts, two pairs of shorts and a scarf for under $250. This store always has a new selection of beautiful items, which I love. However, the reason they lost two stars is because of the quality of their clothing and the customer service. Their clothes are nice, but they are all bad quality polyester. There is nothing wrong with that in itself but they are charging more than they should be. The main problem for me is the customer service. The past few times I have been in, the employees are rude and seem to feel that helping customers is a chore. I do not like being treated that way when I am a paying customer. I have noticed that unless you are a young, beautiful woman similar to the employees, they will not give you much thought. Their behavior seems insincere and snobbish. I really wanted to love this store and it used to have far better service, but now it just feels like I am wasting the employees time. Lucky for them, I won't be doing it any longer. read more
