My toddler has been attending Torrey Peaks and we couldn't be happier. We recently transitioned from a full-time nanny to full-time daycare and thought the transition was going to be challenging, but all of the staff have made it seamless. I wanted to update my review as the owner Jackie called me and threatened to sue me for this review. Everything I have stated is factual, not allegations. This is my experience and I wanted to share it. Here are a couple pictures that show the school was short staffed, the business closed earlier then our contract stated, and I was charged double along with all of the other parents during my childrens enrollment. I had to show bank statements proving I was double charged as they were confrontational when I brought up the issue. Per other reviews, Jackie denied everything and was not apologetic for any of these problems. I have a post on NextDoor going and it is amazing how many other families have had similar issues. BEWARE, FROM ONE PARENT TO ANOTHER! We had some very serious concerns while at this school which led to pulling our child effective immediately, due to fearing for her safety. I brought them to the owner's attention, Jackie Fawcett, and was met with nothing but disrespect, attitude, and belittlement. Primrose, the admin staff, and most of all, Jackie-Owner repeatedly failed my child. 1. I got stuck at work and was unable to pick up my child in time, therefore I sent Grandma who was visiting from out of state and had never been to the school. Grandma rang the doorbell, was let in by a staff member, picked up my child and was never asked for identification to prove she was in fact Grandma. After bringing the concern to the Assistant Director's attention, The Director, Amber, called me to admit fault saying she saw Grandma and "assumed it was a familiar face" and greatly apologized. When I brought the concern to the owner's attention, Jackie made fun of me, yelled at us, interrupted us, called my husband and I bad parents, and called us liars saying the incident never happened, all of which we have across several recordings. We get absolutely nothing from lying and sincerely want safety and security for all children of this school. The owner was informed to check her camera for footage of the incident to prove we were not lying. This is not the 1st time a family member has not be identified upon pickup, this has occurred a handful of times. Not to mention, it is not uncommon to not find a single staff member at the front desk during peak drop-off and pick-up hours, which is another serious safety concern. When I asked Jackie-Owner their pickup process, she detailed it out, and not one single step was adhered to for the safety of my child. 2. My child was repeatedly bit on the face, leaving severe swelling, terrible teeth marks, and bruising for days at a time. After much frustration of the school failing to handle the situation, Director- Amber offered for my child to move classrooms and punish my child, versus handling the child and problem at hand. 3. We paid a pretty penny for this school, equivalent to a mortgage payment, and teachers would message us stating our child was not sick but was fussy and should be picked up early. I expect the teachers to be able to tend to all children's needs, including being "fussy" and should not be asking parents to pick up from school unless they are ill with fever, vomiting, or diarrhea per school 24-hr illness policy. read more

As a primrose family we have enjoyed the structure of the school program. I have found Primrose School at Torrey Peaks to be lacking on the community culture a bit. While the teaching staff is great, the front desk workers typically do not greet families nor learn the students name. I have yet to see the Owners at the facility interacting with family. Pricing is, of course, astronomical, with fewer working hours than other facilities. Personally, I have not seen a lot of community events. In my opinion, the administration is subpar, but my child is safe, attended to, and learning. read more

We have had such an awesome experience so far. Our son was having a really hard time at another pretty pricy school. He is our first and have no idea what we are doing. Previous school gave little or no direction on what to do about hard drop offs. Primrose has been amazing. All the girls are great. Way better fit for us. I see some negative reviews and it hurts my heart. Sometimes when you are let go from a job there is a reason and that makes me love primrose even more. Maybe look inward instead of lash out. They take the care of my baby seriously. read more

My son has been here since he was 11 months old. He'll be turning six in November. We only have a few weeks left and my heart is breaking, he has gotten such great care and attention at the school I can't recommend it enough. As far as some of the bad reviews that you're reading I have never in five years witnessed any of that I would totally recommend this place to anyone and I would bring any future children back. I love Primrose I love Elaine I love the entire staff. And for the record I'm a pretty cynical person. If they can impress me I'm pretty sure they can impress anyone. read more

This business is horrible, they don't feed the kids right don't talk to them the way the are supposed to and the female teachers are always being rude. I do no recommend working here nor taking your child here better off at a public day care then here . Horrible staff!!! read more

My child has attended Primrose School At Torrey Peaks for the last 3 years . We have gone through toddler through pre-k. The teachers are amazing & any time we had a concern or issue it was immediately addressed and resolved . The staff doesn't tolerate anything less than having a professional attitude! The rates are high but worth the care received . read more

We went here for a tour and were told spots were available for our children. We were told by the assistant director to call before the end of the day if we wanted to proceed with the registration. We called back about one hour after we left and they said the spots had been filled by a family that came in right after us. We took the time to go on the tour, consider our schedules and the logistics of starting at this Primrose daycare. Since the assistant director told us we had until the end of the day to get back to her, a sound business practice or courtesy might have been to say something along the lines of "I did tell a family that was just here that they had until the end of the day to register for these spots, let me call them quick to make sure before I take your registration". I understand that when a spot is open, the business needs to take the money - but there should be honor regarding what is said. I would advise you not to deal with this organization. read more

We enrolled my 5 month old daughter at Primrose Torrey Peaks hoping she would be well taken care of in the infant room. On day two I arrived at 3:45pm to pick up my daughter only to find her sleeping in her crib on her tummy (which she had not yet done or learned how to do), her face was straight down in the mattress with barely one nostril exposed and her arm was hanging through the crib slat. This is a very dangerous sleeping position for an infant especially considering if she had tried to move herself she would have been stuck. Primrose also communicated to us their ratio in the infant room was 4:1. That particular afternoon it was 5:1. I could tell the young woman in the infant room was likely overwhelmed trying to take care of that many infants at the same time. She could see I was upset and asked me if I would like for my daughter's head to be turned to the side when she sleeps. I then explained that my daughter has never slept on her tummy and mentioned that turning her head to the side in order to breathe would be the obvious thing to do. She nodded and agreed. When I went to explain what I just saw to the women who work at the front desk, I could tell they weren't quite sure what to say. They simply asked if she rolls over on her own and then mentioned that it is legal in the State of Colorado for daycares to allow infants to sleep on their stomachs if they roll over. The only caveat to this is that they hadn't taken the time to ask me how she sleeps at home or fully understand my daughter's abilities when it comes to rolling over or sleeping on her tummy. I was too busy working, taking care of my daughter and trying to find a nanny to ever take the time to stop back in to discuss the situation. We simply dropped off our letter letting Primrose know we were leaving. Babies who experience this "unaccustomed tummy sleeping" are 18 times more likely to die from SIDS." 10/1/19 - As you can see from the response from the owner, this is how you are treated if you have an issue. Instead of an apologetic approach, It is defensive and again the State of Colorado guidelines are brought up. No mention of my daughters face down in mattress or arm hanging through crib slat. That I assure you is not listed as "safe sleep" by the State of Colorado. In fact, I called my pediatrician just to run the situation by her and she agreed with me that this position is unsafe. I am sure the nurse at primrose would agree. This is not how you treat parents after a mistake was made with their infant. It is true, we cancelled our meetings. At that point there was just nothing the nurse, director or owner were going to say to make the situation better. Also, as I mentioned I was taking care of my daughter, working and searching for a nanny. All of which were a priority over listening to excuses and defensive remarks. It is unfortunate this happened but I am grateful I arrived when I did and figured this out so quickly. Primrose overall has a great reputation and I am sure the toddler programs are excellent. There are also some very loving and hard working teachers in the infant room. This was just my experience one afternoon at Torrey Peaks and it was enough for our family to choose a different direction. read more

My son has been attending Primrose since he was 2 and he is now 3 1/2 years old. I cannot say enough good things about Primrose and what growth I have seen in my son! My infant has just started as well and I love having the peace of mind knowing she will receive amazing care while she attends. All of the staff is top notch and truly wonderful. I know both my kids are in great hands and are learning more than they would anywhere else. I would highly recommend enrolling your kids(s) here, you won't be disappointed. Do you love drama and feeling like crap? THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! Loved the kids & my coworkers but the office staff and director made this place hell to work at (aside from Ms. Amanda - she was great). The director sets a very toxic work environment and has created a terrible staff culture. She talks about everyone (including parents) behind their backs and has the most unprofessional and entitled attitude I have ever come across in this industry. Nothing you say to her will stay private, especially if it is a concern. Save yourself the drama and apply or take your kids somewhere where you can be respected and treated properly. It's also worth mentioning that the owners are hardly ever around to see what kind of work environment has been set by the director. Great school! I had difficulty with another school as they did not accept my daughter to full time program from part time while we were there from the start of school. I got a tour in this school and they accepted us immediately. This was the best happened to my daughter:) They have a great education system, good teachers, and nice staff. Director and assistant director are very positive and helpful people. I 100% recommend this school and we will miss it next year when my daughter starts Kindergarten elsewhere. read more

I am so happy that we found this school! Our son has been going to the Torrey Peaks school for just a few months and has already learned so much. I really like that he always has the same teachers so that he and I both feel comfortable everyday. I also love the meals that they provide. There are always fresh fruits and vegetables and the main courses are always different so he is encouraged to try new things. I can't say enough about what a great school this is. If your child and the other children in the class have trouble with drop-offs then something is wrong with this daycare. It's a factory where kids get diaper changes at the same time everyday. Play with the same toys at the same time. Classrooms are over crowded and small. Genuine and sincere care for the child is missing from most classrooms. The template they use for care is not flexible. The staff is very young and turnover is high. It's not their fault they are overwhelmed with too many kids in a very small space. I would not recommend this place for your child. Daycare costs are all too high. Find a place where your child is free to learn and explore. Where the staff cares for your child. The lack of professionalism and compassion at this location is unreal. We enrolled our one year old daughter here after being promised the world. The staff, instead of talking to us about issues with our daughter's behavior (typical infant/toddler behavior), chose to make passive comments each day when we came to pick her up. They called her a bully (seems a bit harsh for a one year old learning how to interact with other children) and instead of working with us to formulate a plan (after I called and inquired multiple times) they decided to put her in an infant room where all other babies couldn't walk. They did this without notifying us and on more than one occasion when we came to pick her up she was sitting in a crib wide awake while the infants were having tummy time. When we tried to contact the director, Elaine, she was rude, difficult to get a hold of and was "with another family' at the time that I told her I would be coming in to discuss our options. When I was FINALLY able to get her on the phone, she talked the entire time and made excuses for 40 minutes. I could not get a word in edge wise. The one thing that I did tell her was that, going forward, I would like verbal communication if there were issues with my daughter; not a rude comment on a piece of paper. Her response: we can communicate in a log that is provided at the school. I told them that I was switching daycares and gave them ample notice. After my sister arrived to pick my daughter up and she was in a crib during normal hours and not napping hours, I emailed the school (because I KNEW that I would not get a return call from Elaine) and told them that my daughter would not be returning. Because they already had ample notice, I asked them to please refund her last week's tuition - since she wouldn't be attending. They never contacted me and they never refunded our money. This place is a joke and if you want communication about your child's needs and progress, this is the last place that you want to go. Don't let the Primrose name fool you. They offer a lot and talk a big talk but when there are actual issues to address or clarification needed, they are nowhere to be found. If I could give them less of a rating than one star, I would. When we enrolled our daughter in a different daycare, she thrived immediately and fit right in. She has friends now (because she is not stuck in a crib) and all of the staff at her daycare adore her. For the price, this place is not worth it. read more
