This is my Mom's favorite downtown gift shop. The clothing and stuffed animal sections here are particularly massive. Though you aren't going to find any technical/pragmatic/outdoor clothing, this is all chiefly gear to let folks in the lower 48 know that you've been to Alaska. If you're a local, the advantage of going here is to see all the various Alaska-made goods in one place, so you can go patronize those individuals and companies directly.

Find metered parking nearby and able to park for free beginning at 5 PM. My Tito and I spent a long time in the shop checking quality, stitching, colors, slogans just to ensure our loved ones will be enthusiastic about their gifts. Female employee offered to find and grab a different size for two T-shirt designs at the nearby sister or sibling store. If I felt that the merchandise didn't scream, "Please buy me!" She was perfectly okay with my decision not to buy and I could place the shirt in the designated area. Talk about outstanding customer service that exceeded our expectations! Upstairs is the food court with more local owned restaurants than your typical mall food court. I like upstairs because my daughter likes to ride the 25¢ rides. There's a JCPenny as the big box store and they have a lot of good housewares and clothes often on sale but that's about as big as it gets. Theres more clothing stores and specialty stores. I did think that there's pretty adequate security in this mall walking around and their numbers are posted up all over to call in case you see something fit for such a call. Parking costs money but it's ridiculously cheap compared to other malls in the country. I paid $2 for maybe under two hours.
