We stayed at this Hotel for Memorial Day weekend in Asheville. It is located in a cute residential area. The hotel has been around for a long time so the house is pretty old and has a lot of the original character. They have a ton of great amenities. They have a complementary breakfast every morning and the menu changes daily (see pictures). They have a complementary wine and hours d'oeuvres happy hour everyday from 4:30-6pm. There are a few covered porches to sit and enjoy the weather and wine. The room we stayed in was pretty large with a small kitchenette and living room with an attached bedroom. The location is walking distance to downtown. It was about a mile walk to get to most of the shops and restaurants we wanted to go to. It is also a quick Uber ride if the weather isn't conducive to walking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would recommend this place to everyone and I can't wait to go back.

Overall: Fantastic. Food: Breakfast and brunch are always delicious. I drive from Richmond, Kentucky just to visit Chef! The ingredients are fresh and local, top notch. I have tried to recreate Chef's oatmeal for years. The Huevos rancheros was perfectly seasoned- the guacamole was amazing. The tofu scramble was incredibly flavorful and the pickled eggs took it a step above. There are plentiful options of coffee and tea to suit every palate. On my final morning, I had the stuffed French toast- phenomenal. Service: The entire staff is outstanding, well beyond five stars. *I cannot recommend staying at the Princess Anne enough. Baked goods in the parlor, daily flavored drinks in the lobby, coffee and tea around the clock, charcuterie and wine in the afternoon- the list goes on and on. Do yourself a favor, get away for awhile!

My brother expressed interest in traveling to Asheville for a long weekend and since I'm a fan of trying new places (and had the time to take off), we found ourselves planning a little getaway. I left him in charge of choosing accommodations, and after a little research he chose Princess Anne. This place looked charming enough so I was really pumped to check it out for myself. This hotel has a lot of history. Tucked away amongst a number of homes, the Princess Anne has gone though a number of forms (and owners) throughout its history. Today, it's sort of a boutique hotel mixed with touches of bed and breakfast, filled with history and charm - so much that it's actually on the National Register of Historic Places. As with my other hotel reviews, I'm going to separate this one into pros and cons, so here we go! The biggest pro for me has to be the aesthetics. While I'm normally inclined to contemporary styling, I really appreciate and admire what PA puts out. It really gives off that historic feel with the design, original wood floors, and fixtures. While it's clearly an old building, it's fully modernized and styled to complement the feel. The room size was great - we were in a suite which had a kitchenette, couch, and sitting area in one room followed by a full-sized bedroom. The hotel also offers a lot in terms of amenities. There's a huge lounging area inside as well as two outdoor porches and a pond area where you can sit and relax. I was super impressed with the food offerings they had. Every morning they had complimentary breakfast from 8-9:30 where we were able to choose from a number of selections. Also, from 4:30-6 every day they had hors d'oeuvres and wine. They didn't skimp out either - those hors d'oeuvres were LEGIT and super delicious. All around the hotel and our room there were brochures and binders highlighting local attractions, plus the staff gave us some great recommendations for places to go. As for cons, there really weren't too many. Since it's an old hotel, almost everything squeaked - the floors, the bed, the stairs - so I would say be cognizant of that and expect to hear the occasional sound from your upstairs neighbor. Also, our suite was set up where the shower and toilet were in one room and the sink was in the bedroom. Again, I understand it's an old place, but it was still a minor inconvenience. The location is good, but it's about a 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville so you're not necessarily in the thick of it. I gotta bring it back to the positives to close out this review - and in that case I really need to commend the staff. Everyone was super friendly and really made my stay not only a delight, but an experience; they go the extra mile and it shows. For the price we paid I thought Princess Anne was a really great value, and would definitely return here if I ever found myself in Asheville again - keep up the amazing work!

Great value hotel for everything included! Breakfast, evening hors d'oeuvres, and a welcome drink were included in the hotel rate, which was pretty good compare to many Asheville hotels. It's also only a mile from downtown and an easy walk. Parking was great; seemed to be plenty of room on the side of the hotel. The ambiance and decor was quaint and charming. This is definitely an old building so there are creaks when walking. We asked for a third floor room so I'm not sure if the people below us could hear us walking around. We didn't hear any of our neighbors. A very nice amenity was a heater in the bathroom. We visited in April and it was about 30 degrees in the morning so they heater was fantastic after getting out of the shower. We throughly enjoyed the wine and hors d'oeuvres from 5-7 pm. It was quite an impressive spread. My favorite was the cheese and meat plate and the Pinot noir. The front and back porches were nice to sit and relax for a bit. The breakfast was so delicious too! The coffee was roasted locally and had a nice, medium taste. It was nice to have a selection of freshly made menu items. We both had the breakfast tacos, which were delicious and so filling; I couldn't finish it all! Orange juice was also available. From check-in to check-out, our experience was great with very friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Amazing hotel. Very welcoming, quaint and cute! The breakfast is spectacular and generous. There are delicious desserts left out all day and the happy hour is amazing. I stayed here with friends, we had 3 rooms total and loved the location. We walked often to downtown and enjoyed your stay. Highly recommend.

We actually didn't know about this hotel before researching other options after finding out one of our favorite Asheville B&B's was booked when we wanted to come. I'm glad we did because this place is amazing! If you like boutique hotels that are within walking distance of downtown, you've got to check it out. We were very happy with our room, the service, the incredible breakfasts, and the afternoon wine & cheese which they started offering again after a hiatus when we visited in late October 2020. There was contactless check-in and our room keys were waiting for us when we arrived. They had texted us earlier with instructions for the keypad to get into the hotel. They did a magnificent job customizing to my wife's flexitarian diet. Instead of an afternoon cheese plate, they gave us a plate of wonderful crackers, nuts, relish and pickled veggies. My wife mentioned that it was great to see a hotel run by women (the desk clerks, the head chef, the server, etc.). They also let you know that it's not unusual for black bears to be on the property (we saw some rummaging through the trashcans) but they will leave you alone if you leave them alone. There was plenty of sanitizer available and there were always delicious cookies and treats in the lobby. Our room was on the third floor and we took the antique elevator to bring our luggage up but pretty much took the stairs the rest of the time. We also enjoyed the porch area when the weather was nice, and the sitting area with a gas fireplace. Your stay includes breakfast, and they change up their offerings every day for a little variety. Everything we had was gourmet-quality. Highly recommended.

This was one of the best places we've ever stayed. The breakfasts were outstanding and different each day. The complimentary hors d'oeuvre were delicious and added the most beautiful touch. The rooms were a great size and we had a mini kitchen which was so convenient. We cant wait to be back!!

Cool historic restaurant/hotel in the heart of Montford. The food is well presented, thoughtful, and delicious. The wine list is very well curated and has a great bottle in every price point. The staff is cheerful, helpful, and really fun. This place is truly a gem and I look forward to warmer weather when I can have a cocktail on the gorgeous porch.

We didn't stay in the PA Hotel, but had a delightful Sunday Brunch this morning. Samantha showed us a few rooms and they look spacious, well decorated and perfect for those out of town guests coming to visit Asheville. Since there is currently no Yelp listing for their restaurant, I'm using this as the review placement... Our brunch was perfect in every way. Friendly, impeccable service; lovely ambiance in classic and grand, turn-of-the-century B & B; easy parking; convenient. Steve is lactose intolerant and we try to be gluten free and Todd the chef was incredibly accommodating to our special needs. We ordered the beet salad which was delicious, colorful and beautifully presented. Todd modified the fried green tomato stack which usually comes with pimento cheese and a side of mac & cheese to a friendly meal for Steve. I had the delicious and abundant eggs benedict. We had almost everything on the menu and took home some sorbet which we just ate and OMG how fantastic was that! Very reasonably priced plus a discount to locals! I don't think we've often been more pleased. Diverse, flavorful, creative and constructed with quality ingredients. Yummy and fun. Can't wait for the next opportunity to have brunch out. It's a hidden Asheville treasure you won't want to miss. Highly recommend.

Charming place, friendly staff, great location and good proper breakfast, unlike some hotels that give you an apple, a cold bagel and a horrible coffee and call it breakfast. Furthermore we were lucky enough to see a family of bears next to the hotel. I am from Miami so that's a big deal for me.

Hidden in Asheville is this beautiful and inviting B&B. The entrance is welcoming with great seating, lush flowers, and a chair swing. Upon entering you are greeted by wonderful front desk staff. The communication was great, with her offering places to eat, shops, and directions to all our interest. The River Arts District is a must see. Have on good shoes cause Asheville is a walk about city for every thing. The elevator is described as and adventure all on its own. It has a gate that closes on its own and will defiantly take you back in time. The room was very clean, spacious, and met all our needs. The furniture was not very comfortable and minimally decorated. Bed was very soft and the claw bathtub did just the trick of soaking those ache feet from walking so much lol! We were not happy with the a/c it just didn't get cool enough for us. They have wine with meat and cheese on the house in the afternoon that hit the spot plus baked goods in the seating area downstairs. Breakfast was fantastic.

Before coming, I read that the Gingerbread House competition had just ended and that the displays were still up. When we arrived, I didn't realize parking was now paid $30 which was surprising since the first time we visited it was free. Walking up to the hotel is impressive on its own. Seeing how this massive structure was built out of stone so long ago is amazing. Inside, there was a video playing that explained how the hotel was constructed, which was very informative. The roof being made of solid concrete to help make the building waterproof was especially interesting. When you walk through the front doors, the entry is grand and open, with huge fireplaces on both sides. The gingerbread house displays were spread across two floors and were absolutely incredible. It's amazing to see the talent, from young adults to experienced artists. Some of the displays look incredibly realistic. I added photos, and hopefully the video of the grand prize winner shows as well, it's truly impressive. We walked around the rest of the hotel for a while and then stopped for lunch (see my restaurant review). The food was excellent. We hope to return one day and stay here. I'd also love to come back and play a round of golf here.

We decided to stay there on the last night so that we could make use of the spa, which I think was the right call. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the best think about the Omni Grove Park Inn IMO. The views from the terrace and pretty much anywhere are breathtaking and even if you're not staying here I recommend drinks on the sunset terrace to take it all in. I was really looking forward to my spa day. I had called a month before and was told they were booked for everything, but a wrap service. I booked myself a 80 min wrap and my husband a day pass at the spa. My husband wasn't nearly as excited as I was, especially when he learned it would be an electronics free day. He purchased a book at the spa gift shop to get him thru, but if you're someone who doesn't like a day of relaxation I'd recommend getting a book ahead of time. The spa itself is full of many different pools inside and then a smaller pool outside. I spent most my time laying on the outside deck near the pool. It was cooler in the morning but then the sun came out in the afternoon and it got pretty warm out there so I was thankful to have some cooler pools to jump in. My wrap was amazing. When Sarah came to get me for my appointment I told her I originally wanted a massage and she told me she could switch my appointment to that, which was interesting since the front desk did not give me that option both on the phone and when i checked in. I stuck with the wrap which also included a massage and it was the most relaxing 80 minutes ever. I'd book the same exact service again and request Sarah. I also had the avocado toast at the outdoor pool, which was so so. My husband said his poke bowl wasn't much better. Our room was outdated as we had heard. I dont think I would have been happy spending a week there, but it was fine for a night. We grabbed an early reservation at the sunset terrace for dinner. The view was incredible and the food (filet, salad and shrimp cocktail) was fine like the rest of our experience. Our room did come with buffet breakfast. I wasn't too hungry to enjoy it, but my husband seemed to really like it. I'm glad we got a spa day so would possibly book again if I wanted to enjoy another one while in the area, but wouldn't book the hotel on it's own.

This is located right in Biltmore Village, which I heard had a lot more going on before Helene made her way to town a few years ago. :( It's right next to the Biltmore, but there's not really a lot in the area. In fact, when we first pulled up we noticed it was situated right between a McDonalds and a Hardees and wondered where we were staying. The lobby is very cool and modern....and all the staff were very welcoming. When we checked in we were told we were staying in the manor across the street. I don't remember booking that part of the hotel, but the man at the front desk mentioned he prefers those rooms. It's literally right across the street so super easy, but it's across the busiest street I saw in Asheville which requires waiting a very long time at the crosswalk. I didn't see very many people during our 4 nights in the Manor and wondered if we had it all to ourselves. The room itself was nice, clean and modern. There were little things i liked (ex: liquid hand soap) and things i didn't (ex: no trash can in the bathroom) but overall we were comfortable. And my husband mentioned many times he was very happy with the TV situation. While our stay here was fine I did regret not staying elsewhere. I would have loved an area to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather and just more in the area. I did like the room a lot better than the night we spent at the Omni Grove, but think i may have preferred staying at the Kimpton downtown or at the Biltmore where we could take advantage of the hiking, biking and everything else they have going on there.

We also noticed that sound traveled a bit--you can hear hallway noise due to the gap under the door. That said, the experience overall was exceptional. There's so much to do on the estate. The highlight for us was the complimentary wine tasting at Antler Hill Village--nearly an hour with 8 tastings per person, which honestly felt like such a great deal. We also rented bikes to explore the property, which was a fun and scenic way to take everything in. While there are several dining options, reservations are definitely needed--probably the only logistical wrinkle during our stay. One thing we really appreciated was the shuttle system around the estate. It made getting to places like the Biltmore House incredibly easy and stress-free.
