Had a great stay last night. Fantastic location but parking costs what you might expect, $30 valet only. That was fine except for when they retrieved something from the back of our vehicle and didn't close it back all the way...leaving everything else in our vehicle accessible. The room was a great sleep and convenience. Shower was nice! Although a couple of the showers were cold. We wanted to wait for the breakfast basket but it hadn't arrived by 8:30 and we were ready to get on the road. The Watch was dead last night but the service and food were great. Recommend! The Rise this morning had limited items but I would expect that at a hotel coffee. The weird thing was my husband watched the guy slid his butt across to get behind the counter. No thanks. The hotel is in an excellent location. The aesthetic is amazing. It feels like you are in Europe. It's so comfortable, as well as being elevated and classy. You can walk to everything in downtown Asheville! We had a rental car and the is Valet is $30 day with in/out privileges. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The terrace room was great for two adults! The terrace overlooks a small park. The bed was not very comfortable, too firm for me. Everything is low flow, shower pressure not great. But the decor and housekeeping services are wonderful ! I appreciated the basket of breakfast items every morning and the in-room coffee as well as wine/snacks for social hour in the evening. If you want a hotel that is not basic choose the Restoration! I believe it's pet friendly too as I saw many dogs. read more

Hello. This will be my experience over the course of a 10 day stay here in Asheville. I will post at the end. I hope this helps. Day 1: Check in & Room The checking was super easy, and the staff was very nice. The valet parking was a little wonky with only one valet on a Friday evening. The first impression of the hotel .. stunning. Loved the nooks, the books, the decor of an old professor's English cottage. The location is in the middle of downtown with most shopping and food within walking distance. The room is spacious and well designed with one sitting area for the TV and one for the view out to the mountains. The lighting has a layered affect allowing for dim to bright. Plenty of space for clothes and personal items. Beautiful full length mirror. Honor bar ... coffee, tea, mixed drinks and snacks. The frig has water, beer, wine and more. My room has a separate tub and shower and both are large. A stopped in at the Draftsmen, downstairs bar and fun room, for a late dinner. Definitely headed back .. it looked super fun. The staff was nice. Day 2: The hotel has a super, cute and convenient tradition ... a breakfast basket at your door by 8am. It had cereal and milk, oranges, and a few trail mix bars. The shower, however, has luke warm water by 11am. Let's hope that is not the norm. Well came back to room after dinner, no hot water. I call down and there seems to be no sense of urgency to deal with the issue. Maybe Monday. I might be able to find you a room to take a shower. Wow! Not good! Now 45 minutes later, I get a call to try again as they fixed it. I have hot water again. Yay! Day 3: The breakfast basket has variety .. good! Today was a bagel, cream cheese and an orange. No microwave or toaster(did not expect one) in the room. Had to go downstairs to toast. No problem actually because I was able to grab a Hibiscus Tea at the coffee shop. Cute place with a variety of drinks including Mexican Mochas. A few breakfast sandwiches and pastries as well. I will definitely need to try this space a few more times. TIP: it is only open until noon. I left a Service ASAP on the door, yet for some reason, house keeping skipped over the room. I had to call down. Day 4: Coffee maker not working. Had to call down. It will be tomorrow before they fix it. I tried the robe and slippers .. wow the robe is warm!! Day 5: Breakfast basket was lemon poppy seed muffins with oranges and string cheese. Good. I have my new coffee maker after stopping by the front desk again and finding out it was not on their list of to dos. Pulled the car of valet .. super fast and nice. Found out later when I dropped off the car that the front desk staff was acting as valet also. They are very nice set of staff. Day 6: The bed is super comfy and the curtains let in just the right amount of morning light ... easy to sleep in this hotel. Breakfast basket was an orange, apple, granola bars and yogurt. I am on a hunt for something healthy this morning. Day 7: I finally discovered what one of the light switches on the wall was for ... window lighting. It took using it at night to see the difference. I have been asking for the room to be cleaned everywhere day. They have done a good job for the most past .. they miss a few little things here or there (did not clean the floor one day, missed cleaning toilet another day, refill the bar, etc.). Day 8: Breakfast basket was good .. banana and a muffin. Accessing the valet was easy again today. Day 9: The house keeping did a great job today with the room. Disappointed the Observation is closed, but it appears to be rented out most nights while I have been here. Popped in for a nice drink before dinner ... the bar at The Watch is friendly and large. read more

The dining experience was simply unacceptable. I have tried calling the restaurant with my problem there but they don't even call back. We were there for a brunch. Hardly anyone else was in the restaurant yet the service was almost nonexistent. The waiter told us he went to the sixth floor looking for sausage gravy????? Our orders came out at all different times and the food was just subpar..period. The fact that a manager wouldn't call back is even more ridiculous. read more

We were able to book here to celebrate our anniversary and it was well worth it! From start to finish we had great service anywhere we went. The room itself was amazing and with all the amenities you'd love and expect to be there. The bathroom in particular almost made us consider hanging out just to take a bath, ha. I am having knee surgery unexpectedly and needed to cancel the trip from Atlanta to your hotel. My reservation info led me to a third party who had already received payment of over $1,700 from me. I had never heard of them. Even though I was guaranteed a refund (excluding the equivalent of a ONE DAY STAY plus $150+), I was transferred to multiple people that I was unaware of. My husband and I spent over an hour on the phone being transferred back and forth with no resolution AND ZERO REFUND of our prepaid reservation! We will NEVER stay at your hotel and probably will not EVER PAY IN ADVANCE for ANY RESERVATION as a result of this nightmare experienceConsidering posting this to be sure others are aware of your scam. This hotel was nothing short of amazing! It's decor, cleanliness, staff .... everything! One of my favorites. I've stayed in a lot of hotels around the US and this one, for the value, is by far the best! Loved the restaurant and the breakfast coffee shop. They keep this place in pristine shape and the icing on the cake is the breakfast basket left in front of your hotel room door early every morning. Like its property in Charleston, The Restoration in Asheville sets a new standard for luxury and amenities. It opened in late April 2023. This is truly a boutique hotel, with only 60 rooms. The interior design is elegant and sophisticated. Our room on the fourth floor was spacious and included its own balcony overlooking Pritchard Park. All of the refreshments in your fridge are free, you only pay for snacks or liquor on the counter above. In the morning each room receives a basket with croissants, yogurt and apples. That's super unique! As the hotel's restaurant doesn't open till lunch, you either enjoy the basket or head to the espresso-pastry bar on the main level. I was told the restaurant's hours will expand soon. The Observatory on the sixth floor has great drinks and food to order. Beautiful view of city. The Draftsman Lounge in the lower level is a Gastropub and has arcade games like pinball, skee ball and even Pac-Man. There is a variety of cool Asheville clothing for sale in the lobby. Excellent workout room on the lobby level. It even features Peloton bikes. We took advantage of a Summer Special with discounts up to 25%. Taxes and fees add another 25% to your final bill. I stayed in this hotel for a school field trip and I absolutely loved it. The room was so big and nice, the workers were lovely, and I just had a great experience overall. I would give this hotel a 4.5/5 if Yelp allowed half-stars. I loved how breakfast was delivered to my door, however the food was ice cold when it arrived. I also asked my classmates and theirs were cold as well. There is a fridge and a coffeemaker in the room but there is no microwave so keep that in mind. Overall I had a nice time here and I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I went with a group of friends and family and spent a couple of hours starting around 5 pm in the new Restoration Hotel, just checking it out. One group parked behind the hotel in the Buncombe County garage and were able to walk across the street and get in the back of the hotel. Another person parked on the street near Prichard Park. We parked in the Drhumor Building lot, which is available to the public after 5 pm. The choices on the app are 1 hour, 2 hours and 8 hours, and we ended up paying $15 for 8 hours since we planned to be downtown for around 3 hours. At this time of day, there was loads of parking. We first went up to the rooftop bar. This is on the sixth floor, with part of the bar inside and part outside. The outside area faces mostly north and somewhat west. It doesn't have the view of some of the other hotel rooftop bars in town, but it's pleasant. Service was a bit slow, but this was a Friday afternoon so not unexpected. The gin and tonics were excellent. The only small problem we had is that a couple in the party ordered what we were told were nonalcoholic beers. These turned out to be Sierra Nevada hops water, not nonalcoholic beer. The waitperson handled this fine, though, and did not charge us for the hoppy water, which none of us likes. We then walked around the hotel a bit. The architects and interior designers have done a fine job with the renovation. You wouldn't believe this formerly was a First Union bank. The huge windows (arched in the back and roll-up "garage" style window in front, allow in a lot of natural light. The entrance lobby is designed to look like a library. At the back of a lobby is a small coffee bar. In the check-in area there's a Valley Courts Motel sign (see photo) used as a piece of art. I love this! The ceilings in the restaurant are made to look like pressed tin, but are a kind of polymer, I think, and the floors look like wood but most appear to be composite. The Exchange, the hotel's main restaurant (see photo), first of all, is really large for a hotel restaurant. I was expecting kind of a cozy nook, but it must have at least 80 or 90 seats, with a kind of open kitchen in the back. But very attractive. Another interesting thing about the hotel restaurant is the price level. Usually hotels have very expensive restaurants. You know, a burger is $30 or something. But the prices at The Exchange are moderate. There are two burgers on the menu, each priced at $17 with a large serving of fries. I had the smashburger, which has the potential of being one of the top burgers in Asheville if the chef would just stick with the basic smashburger concept of two patties and American cheese. Mine had a kind of mustard-forward sauce and Swiss cheese. It was good, but it could have been great. When it comes to burgers, I think classic is best. Leave the creativity for other dishes. There's also a chicken sandwich for $16 and a trout poboy for $15. Among the starters is a trio of sliders for just $11 and a wedge salad for $8. Good prices! After a relaxing dinner with drinks we went across the street and enjoyed the drumming circle. It's been a while since I've been to it, and it was fun. read more

We ordered the chicken nachos, cheese curds, deviled eggs, and Parmesan fries. Everything was great. I especially like the shape and crunchiness of the fries. The nachos had these excellent red onions that added a nice balance. It was full of cheese, which I love. I didn't try the cheese curds and deviled eggs; however, my friend loved it. Make sure you visit downstairs. They have a small bowling alley with arcade games and a lounge area. I was pleasantly surprised with this location and can't wait to return. read more

I'm not sure where to begin. This place, top to bottom, is phenomenal! We arrived on a Friday afternoon to a bustling hotel. Matthew, from valet, greeted us with a big smile and immediately made us feel welcomed. Our room was spectacular. The marble shower was definitely the highlight. The room was more than enough space for the two of us. Housekeeping did a wonderful job every morning. The hotel was hosting a couple of weddings during the weekend so we weren't able to enjoy everything. The Draftsman Bar in the basement is a very cool spot. We joined one of the wedding parties and had a blast bowling and playing the arcade games. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. We absolutely loved Restoration! My husband and I loved The Restoration Hotel in Charleston so when we saw one had opened in Asheville, we had to stay there for our weekend getaway. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you would want in a boutique hotel - great location, amazingly helpful staff, beautiful surroundings inside and out, comfortable bed and excellent bedding, as well as two bars and a restaurant on site. The complimentary breakfast baskets, snacks in the room, and wine/cheese happy hours are just cherries on top. We did have an issue while we were there and I will say that the entire staff was more than helpful in reaching a resolution that was satisfactory. That is why they still received a five star rating - good customer service goes a long way! We will definitely be back and we will recommend to our friends! read more

We popped in on a birthday food crawl for a birthday dessert and mojitos - and had a great time here. The mojitos were respectable while the orange blossom crème brûlée had a nice subtle flavor. And from the great classic music to the well-dressed staff in bright teal, and the inspired balmy weather - it was a perfect August night. The rooftop is very pleasant - with the windows of the newly constructed building providing a nice sense of being somewhere bigger than Asheville. At one point, I felt a tiny tear roll out of my eye while listening to 'Rocket Man' emanating at the exact right volume from the speakers. Right then, I noticed a staff member had on a pink headband. It was a real moment of bliss. The perfect birthday moment of loving the environment and feeling the gratitude we all know is elusive but search for anyway. I had it here. The server was super-friendly and attentive too, so I definitely feel like this is the go-to Sunday brunch place for us and any out of town guests we will entertain here. One note: When it comes to looking over the edge beyond the rooftop - we couldn't help feeling a bit meh - the thing you will see looking down is round green treetops. We stayed here for my birthday weekend and had one of the nicest hotel experiences! We checked in on Friday around 5pm and there was a complimentary happy hour going on... wine, cheese, prosciutto, yum! We also ordered craft cocktails at the bar and the reason they take so long is because they muddle, garnish, experiment, etc - work of art and so yummy! At this point, we've noticed all the staff from checking in to host or bartenders... super nice! The rooms... beautiful. They thought of everything: the soaps, shampoo, robes, complimentary snacks and drinks, cute coffee maker, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and very clean. They also deliver complimentary continental breakfast in the am in this cute little basket. Nice touch! We had such a good time downstairs at the draftsman. It's a bar with complimentary games and bowling...skeeball, big jenga, pinball, goldentee ... so cool! Takes you back to being a kid. Got lattes in the am ... delicious and staff very friendly. They overheard us talking about hikes and chimed in with amazing recommendations. Loved the hike! The location is perfect and right in the middle of the town. The attention to detail is well done. I felt like we were staying at a 5 star hotel with a 3.5 star $$. When we come back to Asheville, we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for everything! read more

We did not have a reservation on a Friday night having just arrived for a family reunion. We walked by this hotel & restaurant while the drum circle was going on across the street & were surprised it wasn't very busy. The hotel lobby and the restaurant are both beautiful. The decor is really cool. We went to the bar and we ordered cocktails first for our group of 7. This took quite some time, and bartenders made good cocktails but not being busy were not too overly friendly. We all enjoyed our drinks & were seated. Unfortunately after 3/7 of us ordered flat breads they told us they had none. The server was nice, but seemed new & a bit overwhelmed even though like I said the restaurant was maybe only 25% full, if that. We mostly ordered burgers and I think one person's order was wrong, but they ate it anyway-nothing wrong with the food it just seems like maybe it's a newer place and the staff was new and untrained? We like that it was open air to the street and we could hear the drum circle the whole way through dinner so we still had a very nice time and would probably try it again if we were in the area. read more

We spent three nights at the Restoration Hotel in February of '24 for our Anniversary. We both really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The front desk check-in was pleasant and very informative. The rooms are comfortable and stocked-up with complimentary local treats. In addition, a continental breakfast was delivered every morning at 8am. The Restoration also provided complimentary car service to local destinations. Ahmed the hotel driver is outstanding and very personable. He was always ready to take us to different locations and provide a prompt pick-up with only a quick text message. The hotel also has the cleanest gym I've ever seen in a hotel. I must say this is one of the finest hotels in Asheville --rivaling any other establishment. Today I decided to have lunch there, the place was not full. (It's brand new) I ordered a Cuban sandwich. I was all disappointed. Big chunks of pork belly in a sandwich. No no pickles but it tasted good enjoyed it. I'll go there again highly recommend it. I understand the rooms are delightful. They get everything right! It is a very creative hotel from lobby to reception to the rooms. We checked in about 6:00pm and they had wine and charcuterie at the front desk. Simple but elegant. The lobby was cozy with lots of seating clusters, books and adjoining the restaurant...so good smells. The room got everything just right Floor to ceiling windows with a view of the square. Good size, and the bathroom also very nice with lots of nice quality linens. Typically hotel rooms leave you scrounging for enough spaces for your luggage. The Restoration had a credenza type piece of furniture with three large flat spaces and four drawers. Beside the credenza was a long tapestry covered bench that is also good for putting your open luggage upon. Nice robes and slippers, good shampoos and toiletry products. And a nicely equipped bar with reasonably priced snack items. Soda and water are free, snacks and alcohol have a charge but not unfair. This is my new go-to when in Asheville. read more

We stayed at this wonderful hotel while in Asheville. It was excellent. The rooms had everything you could possibly need. Robes, slippers, drinks in the refrigerator for free! Plus snacks and drinks you could purchase. The coffee and coffee maker were very good. Individual bags of ice in a freezer for customers to grab as needed. A breakfast basket was at our door every morning! 3 bars are located on site and an excellent restaurant we enjoyed. Rooms were clean, towels were large and fluffy, beds were very comfy! We were then greeted by Zack, another front house supervisor, whose million dollar smile and Ken-like charm sealed the deal. We were home away from home and felt completely AT HOME. Charlotte, whom we did not get to meet in person the day we arrived, was a behind-the-scenes super star who helped us book our reservation many weeks prior and literally snagged us a room that matched EVERY single request we made. She even surprised us with an unexpected gift for our pup, accompanied with a personal note, inside our hotel room upon arrival. Such kind and thoughtful staff. You simply don't see or experience this kind of care these days. A few additional shout outs to Tracy and Martin at the front desk and Imad the valet. Big thanks for your charisma and smiles! When we needed directions to a local eatery, inquired about the roof top bar, and requested to retrieve an item from our valet parked car, each of you welcomed our inquiries and needs with kindness and gratitude. We stayed at The Restoration Hotel last night and couldn't have been happier with our stay. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked through the doors. The room was very comfortable, well-appointed, and clean. We had great views of the hills and the location was very convienent to many shops and restaurants. My friend had a room booked for tonight and I was waiting in the lobby to meet him. They kicked me out for sitting on a couch in the lobby and checking my email on my IPad. Absolutely no incidence, I was literally sitting waiting to go in and get something to eat with my friend. I have lived in Asheville almost 16 years; I have an office in a very nice place two blocks from there that I spend a lot of money on and I spend a significant amount of money supporting the downtown culture, the arts, the music, the food, the people and overall well being of the community. The people who were in charge today made a serious lack in judgment by treating me, honestly, in the most disrespectful way anyone has treated me in Asheville since living here from 2008 to present. I cant believe they spoke to me like I had no right to be there when all I was doing was waiting to grab a bite to eat in their establishment with my friend who was just getting to town. Nobody should be treated like I was. Disgraceful. When my clients come to town for meetings with my company... they will not be staying there or eating there, and that sucks, because its two blocks from my office and an easy for everyone to be. AC Marriott is getting all my business. Apologies aren't necessary, because there is no coming back from the way I was treated. And I am about to bring an entire new technology corridor to the Asheville area.
