We love the view from the hotel room it was probably one of the best views out there, on top my list for sure! The room itself was great it was spacious with contemporary furniture and design, two of the main reasons I decided on this hotel were the soaking bathtub and dog friendly accomodation. It was really great we felt more like at home in an NY apartment than at a hotel. The happy hour was great we met so many interesting people not to mention the featured drinks were also good. I tried the wine, beer and margarita!! The canapes were also a nice touch!! The service staff from the desk, to valet and cleaning they were really nice. They made our stay memorable. We…read morehad been here many years ago with my aunt and uncle, who wanted to show us the hotel and the famous elevator built into the fireplace it's very old and really interesting. Before coming, I read that the Gingerbread House competition had just ended and that the displays were still up. When we arrived, I didn't realize parking was now paid $30 which was surprising since the first time we visited it was free. Walking up to the hotel is impressive on its own. Seeing how this massive structure was built out of stone so long ago is amazing. Inside, there was a video playing that explained how the hotel was constructed, which was very informative. The roof being made of solid concrete to help make the building waterproof was especially interesting. When you walk through the front doors, the entry is grand and open, with huge fireplaces on both sides. The gingerbread house displays were spread across two floors and were absolutely incredible. It's amazing to see the talent, from young adults to experienced artists. Some of the displays look incredibly realistic. I added photos, and hopefully the video of the grand prize winner shows as well, it's truly impressive. We walked around the rest of the hotel for a while and then stopped for lunch (see my restaurant review). The food was excellent. We hope to return one day and stay here. I'd also love to come back and play a round of golf here.

We decided to stay there on the last night so that we could make use of the spa, which I think was the right call. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the best think about the Omni Grove Park Inn IMO. The views from the terrace and pretty much anywhere are breathtaking and even if you're not staying here I recommend drinks on the sunset terrace to take it all in. I was really looking forward to my spa day. I had called a month before and was told they were booked for everything, but a wrap service. I booked myself a 80 min wrap and my husband a day pass at the spa. My husband wasn't nearly as excited as I was, especially when he learned it would be an electronics free day. He purchased a book at the spa gift shop to get him thru, but if you're someone who doesn't like a day of relaxation I'd recommend getting a book ahead of time. The spa itself is full of many different pools inside and then a smaller pool outside. I spent most my time laying on the outside deck near the pool. It was cooler in the morning but then the sun came out in the afternoon and it got pretty warm out there so I was thankful to have some cooler pools to jump in. My wrap was amazing. When Sarah came to get me for my appointment I told her I originally wanted a massage and she told me she could switch my appointment to that, which was interesting since the front desk did not give me that option both on the phone and when i checked in. I stuck with the wrap which also included a massage and it was the most relaxing 80 minutes ever. I'd book the same exact service again and request Sarah. I also had the avocado toast at the outdoor pool, which was so so. My husband said his poke bowl wasn't much better. Our room was outdated as we had heard. I dont think I would have been happy spending a week there, but it was fine for a night. We grabbed an early reservation at the sunset terrace for dinner. The view was incredible and the food (filet, salad and shrimp cocktail) was fine like the rest of our experience. Our room did come with buffet breakfast. I wasn't too hungry to enjoy it, but my husband seemed to really like it. I'm glad we got a spa day so would possibly book again if I wanted to enjoy another one while in the area, but wouldn't book the hotel on it's own.

I love history, historic architecture and Americana so my husband and I decided to stay at The Foundry Hotel. We loved. We enjoyed our comfy rood including the huge floor to ceiling drapes that were electronically controlled. We also love the history of the hotel being the working shops for the Biltmore. One night we went exploring and we found an old cargo elevator which was quite neat. From the hotel we were able to walk to many shops and restaurants. The staff were great and we slept well during our stay.

I ended up lining up our extra pillows under my duvet and was able to sleep ok that way. The noise level - cool but old building equals creaky floors, thin walls, and in our 2nd room, loud pipes. Our first room was so loud above we couldn't even enjoy tv at night let alone sleep (of course we had someone who seemed to be logging steps all evening and throughout the night). Positives: Breakfast - we included breakfast with our booking thru Hotels.com, and very glad we did. Service was slow but very friendly. Although I didn't believe them at first, included is any breakfast you want. You order anything off the menu and they remove the tabs from your bill. All the food we had over 3 mornings was fabulous. The water - filtered (and sparkling) water station in the lobby. We stopped by and filled up each day. Service - every employee was friendly and helpful. They happily moved us from a 2nd floor to top after night one was too loud. Restaurant staff always nice, valets were friendly. Great location - easy in and out, perfect location to roam downtown, loads of good restaurants nearby Rooms - decent sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy pillows, power curtains and large windows. Overall after I crafted my own soft mattress and relocated to a top floor room, we ended up having a great stay.

We wanted to wait for the breakfast basket but it hadn't arrived by 8:30 and we were ready to get on the road. The Watch was dead last night but the service and food were great. Recommend! The Rise this morning had limited items but I would expect that at a hotel coffee. The weird thing was my husband watched the guy slid his butt across to get behind the counter. No thanks. Recommend The Restoration? Definitely.

Just steps from The Orange Peel and Wicked Weed Brewery with several of Asheville's best restaurants just steps away, the location can't be beat. Rooms are nicely equipped with comfortable beds. The decor is very Rock N Roll with cool Marshall Bluetooth speakers. Closet space is very minimal, but that's my only negative. We enjoyed the XYZ lounge, especially the fireplace! The pool area is expansive and offers ample seating for groups including a fire pit. A great place to relax and enjoy the sunset over the mountains . The best reason is that they are dog-friendly. We don't have a dog, but loved seeing all of the happy companions in the hotel. This establishes a very friendly vibe to the hotel. Definitely our go-to spot when in Asheville.

First, when we arrived at the hotel, the valet were so quick and efficient to unload all the bags we had with us, as well as ensure our car would be safe in their parking garage (since it was loaded for our move). They took our luggage across to the Manor and it was in our room before we were even there. Then, at check-in, they offered us a glass of champagne, gave us a quick orientation on the village, and we were off to check out our room. Not only was it a beautiful and comfortable place to stay, but they made our dog, Hagrid, feel so welcome (see the photos). Note: While this doesn't downgrade our score, there can be traffic noise at night and the pet fee is a bit pricier than other pet fees.

Or do I go with the Marriott option like I usually do? We opted with this Marriott, but then ended with a night at the Omni Grove so we could check out the spa we heard so much about. This is located right in Biltmore Village, which I heard had a lot more going on before Helene made her way to town a few years ago. :( It's right next to the Biltmore, but there's not really a lot in the area. In fact, when we first pulled up we noticed it was situated right between a McDonalds and a Hardees and wondered where we were staying. The lobby is very cool and modern....and all the staff were very welcoming. When we checked in we were told we were staying in the manor across the street. I don't remember booking that part of the hotel, but the man at the front desk mentioned he prefers those rooms. It's literally right across the street so super easy, but it's across the busiest street I saw in Asheville which requires waiting a very long time at the crosswalk. I didn't see very many people during our 4 nights in the Manor and wondered if we had it all to ourselves. The room itself was nice, clean and modern. There were little things i liked (ex: liquid hand soap) and things i didn't (ex: no trash can in the bathroom) but overall we were comfortable.And my husband mentioned many times he was very happy with the TV situation. While our stay here was fine I did regret not staying elsewhere. I would have loved an area to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather and just more in the area. I did like the room a lot better than the night we spent at the Omni Grove, but think i may have preferred staying at the Kimpton downtown or at the Biltmore where we could take advantage of the hiking, biking and everything else they have going on there.

The location is close enough to downtown so that you can still find food in walking distance yet far enough removed from the noise to give you a bit of quiet. Unlike a downtown hotel, you also don't have to pay through the nose for parking. Staff are pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The porch and patio areas make for relaxing outdoor spaces. The Princess Anne is an old building and though generally well-maintained, isn't immune to the occasional odd creak. Our room was, overall, fairly spacious (it included a kitchenette and dining/TV area), the bed was comfortable, and everything worked as it should. That said, the bathroom was tiny, even with the sink located in a different room. If you can abide by its quirks, the Princess Anne offers character, comfort, and charm, all at a fairly good value.

My wife found the Princess Anne Hotel which dates to the early 1920's. One of the sayings on their website was "the luxury of a BnB with the privacy of a hotel". We went all out and reserved one of their 3-room "Master Suite". We ended up with THREE, VERY SPACIOUS and well appointed rooms. The bedroom included a king-size bed with a large flat screen TV attached bed; the kiving room included a sofa bed, upolstered chair and another large flat screen TV. The final room was dining area - complete with a dinig table, four dining chairs, two upholsted chairs and a kirchenette with a 2-burner stovee, a frg amd a microwave. The package my wife booked included an afternoon (5-6p) reception with a complimentary glass of wine or beer (addional glasses could be purchased) and a charcuterie board. You could enjoy your wine and charcuterie in their lounge area, on one of their porches (our choice) or back in your room. THe package also included breakfast which was served in the dining room. There was a breakfast "special of the day" or you could order from the menu. ALL of the staff - from the front desk personell to the servers in the dining room - was great. Great southern hospitality - always cheerful. This truly was a 5-STAR experience.

They do have valet for $22 a night and you can go in and out without any extra charge. We were greeted with a glass of champagne upon check in. The room was bigger than I expected! The views form the hotel room were beautiful. We went down to the bar to check out the sunset but since our room was on the 10th floor and the bar was on the 4th floor we made our way back up to watch from there. My main complaint was the lack of water access. We had to go to the gym to fill our water bottles up and the water didn't taste very good. Since it was a Sunday night we wanted to relax and watch TV in bed. We couldn't find a physical copy of the TV guide and struggled with the TV remote to scroll through the guide, so we ended up just clicking through channels. The towels were quite rough. Everything is very walkable from this area.

The highlight for us was the complimentary wine tasting at Antler Hill Village--nearly an hour with 8 tastings per person, which honestly felt like such a great deal. We also rented bikes to explore the property, which was a fun and scenic way to take everything in. To get to the hotel floors you needed a key card for the elevator, the wireless key on your phone didn't work very well, so a physical key card was recommended by the front desk. The restaurant and bar was on the top floor so in the evening often those patrons were using the elevator. Lobby was modern and also comfortable while waiting for our Uber. Front desk team members were friendly each time we interacted with them.
