This was my first time at this salon. As a dad walking in to get his daughters hair done, it can sometimes be an event but nope not here. So here's the story... Got my times mixed up and arrived 30 minutes late though I thought I was on time. Both my little queens were scheduled to get their hair done at the same time so I was missing both heads. When I attempted to check in, MiMi, who was sitting at check in today, let me know that I had missed my appointment. For me in moments like this you have to own your part and hold yourself accountable and NOT expect anything in return. So I simply apologize for the time I might have wasted time by having the stylist wait. I was also prepared to forfeit my deposit because the stylist should be paid for their time. Mimi looked for ways to accommodate me as I prepared to schedule and leave. Up walks the stylists (Chrissy and Diamond) each taking one of my girls and doing their hair. I do understand that I got lucky that maybe the style was quick or that a cancellation may have come through but either way I was filled with gratitude. I was filled with even more as the did the girls hair with any noise or whimpering. Even when the tablet died, they simply sat there and enjoyed the pampering. After the hair was done they got to pick their bows and grab a lollipop. Mimi explain more about how future appointments would make it easier to fit both girls in at the same time. She even show so much patience as I had to call the wifey on speakerphone to schedule future appointments. The moral of the story for me was it matters how you own your mistakes with condition and take care of those when you can because life is a full circle. read more

I normally don't leave reviews like this but my voice needs to be heard. My experience yesterday was not good at all. I booked an appointment with Dimee for child for scalp braids no added hair. After she washed my child's hair she began to comb her hair. She was combing her hair extremely hard from the root. Pulling at her hair. My child was crying with tears coming down her eyes. When I saw this I said to her " You are combing too hard" Her response was" Well, she has a lot a hair and she needs a trim". She then proceeds to tell me "She has a lot more hair than her sisters". This does not justify you to comb her hair so hair that she is crying! Especially with a hot blow dryer. Her response to me, her attitude and her demeanor was very mean spirited and didn't make me or my child feel good. If the issue was that her hair was too thick or needed to be detangle then why was she not offered any treatments like a detangling spray or even a conditioner to help with the detangling? The only option was to comb it hard? She is 11 years old and has never cried at any hair appointment and she was crying because she was in pain! That speaks volume. At the end of the appointment I was charged $20 for an "intricate hair design". I was told this is because her style had more than 3 designs in it. She had 2 hearts in the front and the 2 hearts on the side and then the hair was braided up. I already paid $90 for mid back length now and extra $20 for a style that I actually found on the hair salons instagram page. My daughters have gotten this same style at the Cumberland location and I was never charged an extra $20? If this style was an extra $20 then why was I not informed this when I showed her the picture before we started? I really do believe I was charged extra out of spite for speaking up when I told Dimee she was combing too hard. This felt personal. I'm already paying $90 for a style so why charge me an extra $20? It's sad, I have been coming here for almost 3 years with all my 3 girls faithfully, once a month and never have I left feeling so bad like this. read more

Very disappointed in there lack of consistency Money hungry , unprofessional .... Beware !!!! my daughter has been going to this salon for a while. They are consistently late , over booked , changing stylist. We were delayed because of traffic and they told us our appointment could not be accommodated, I was 15 minutes late !!!!(we have waited for our stylist for an hour before they started my daughters hair at previous visits ! ). Now we must forfeit our " deposit" and reschedule the appointment . The next day was available at 6:30pm ... they called earlier to say 1:30pm was free we went ......it took 5.5 hours to wash blow dry and braid 16 braids and it cost 85 bucks previous deposit was null and void . First time at the salon ! I will start by saying booking is very easy. They have a lot of variety in appointment times. If you have questions about the services you can call them and they will explain what you need to book. They over communicate with you in regards to appointment changes and even call if openings come up to see if you are able to come in sooner. The staff was very pleasant. As a former patron to this business I have to say that I am completely repulsed by my experience today and they will no longer be of any service to my family. First off let me say that this place has an extremely high turnover rate. This is a clear indication that there is an internal issue. (Management) It all started a week prior I booked an appointment at 6pm for a braided high pony for my daughter. I was told that they were able to accommodate us with no problem. Fast forward to the day of. I received a phone call asking if we could come earlier than scheduled at 4:30pm. We didn't have to but because I understand I moved some things around and came at 4:30. Since my daughters father dropped her off, they had the stylist to call me and express that the style we wanted would be $130 if I wanted the style exactly like the picture I sent (one week prior). I said that's fine. I'm not even sure why they called me, her father was standing right there. He's the one paying. I was under the impression that they were starting the hairstyle. I guess that would have been too much like the logical thing to do. Instead I was met with yet ANOTHER phone call (at this point this place is just tacky). About 30 minutes later the girl at the front called and said that the style we booked for takes longer than the allotted time slot. (They received this pic a week prior and they let me know that they could accommodate us). I said well if that's the case why didn't you make the adjustment one week prior when I sent you the picture. Then if that's also the case, why did you just quote me $130 today when my daughter arrived. You once again accepted the appointment. We've even stopped what we were doing to come early to ACCOMMODATE YOU! What in the heck happened to accommodating the CUSTOMER?! Then they had the audacity to speak from their mouths that they had something ELSE to do when they leave there. As a business owner myself, my staff could never have the opportunity to reject a paying client and show up to work the next day. If you don't want to work just say that. It's unfortunate and I hate to say this but to me these people sound like some lazy unmotivated bums. Then they had the owner call me after I requested to speak with the owner. Yes it's her I know that slow speech, raspy tone anywhere. At first impression she struck me a a reasonable, responsible business owner. This business owner never admitted to being at fault. She only stated that the stylist says she can't work late. Then that QUACK had the nerve to ask me how can "we" fix this? Lady I'm not sure what's in your pipe but I have been nothing but inconvenienced from the moment we showed up to the appointment. Your business, your screw up. They have absolutely NO IDEA how far my child's father drove to drop her to the appointment only to receive no service. I will no longer be brining my daughter to this establishment. Instead we will be patronizing TENDERHEADZ CHILDRENS SALON. They have 2 locations. One in College Park and one in Duluth. I thought that I could save myself a drive because I found something closer but no you can't compromise on quality. I'm a reasonable person and I understand things happen. This is something that I cannot sweep under the rug. I am not one to write reviews however this was completely unacceptable and I will not do business with any establishment with no regard to the customer and their satisfaction. I went to this hair salon and I had my daughter's hair in a puff. They told me to detangle her hair or it would be an additional $35. We went to my car and detangle my daughters hair. Arriving back there was a spectacle of 3 separate staff members examining her hair determining if it was detangled enough. We were able to comb through her hair however the stylist made reference to it being too thick. She got the manager involved to feel her hair as well. The entire experience was humiliating for myself and my 9 year old. The stylist Alexa's was beyond rude, I'm glad that I did not leave my child there to get her hair done. Alexas was completely nasty throughout the entire process and was yanking her hair to demonstrate. I will never set foot in this location again. Took my 2yr old to Princess Hair Pizzazz today. I was a little nervous since no one else beside me has ever done her hair, and this was her first time getting her hair braided. Ashley Marie took great care of us! She made my little one feel really comfortable. She talked to her she even knew all the kiddie songs and was singing lol. The place is super cute. My daughter has been serviced at this establishment for the ninth time today. The experience is always consistent. Conversation and music is always kid friend. You get a lot for your money and they truly care about the health of the hair. They take their time and detangle during the conditioning process instead of before. Ok so I went to the solan and I got put with this girl Brianna or bri whatever her name is my mom booked for Kay but they were doing something with the schedule, so I go there where she is she does my hair then she gets a call from her friends, her friends say their down for cascade for skating, she got all extra and stuff dancing singing dramatically, then shay let's her friends in, they start swearing a little in front of me, oh and forgot to mention that she said something about the pants in her area. Then she doesn't even ask which set of braids I want and she put in all blond braids on my head and I thought she was adding black and some blond braids but I was wrong so I ask for beads her sister puts the beads on, also she was rushing to see her friends hurting my head doing all this and that, and tells some business about her sister, honestly she does to much, and the fact that she's talking like im a teenager, like mam I'm nine years old and yes I do some things that people can't do. This visit has been very interesting to say the least... LONG POST...... LET ME JUST EXPRESS I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH CHARACTERS TO DISCLOSE MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OCTOBER 14, 2022. I have patronized this business since I was referred by my old hairstylist and began patronizing this business several years ago ( at least 3). I had nothing but great experiences every time my daughter was serviced by Vonsha and then Mimi for the most part. I raved to others about Princess Hair Pizzazz when asked who does your daughter's hair. I later began receiving services as well... yesterday marked my 4th time patronizing this salon for braiding services. Fast forward to yesterday evening. I booked on Vargo for the same service I've received twice prior to this appointment. No problem... paid my deposit of $25.01 remaining balance was $25. It's the same style ( 2 french braids) and price I paid prior. Cool no issue. I receive a call from the salon asking if I can come in early as my appointment was conveniently scheduled for 8pm. I agree to 7pm... Shortly after the call ended my stylist sent me a text asking if I could be on the way because she needed to tend to her children. Keep in mind it's traffic, I live a good 40 minutes away and I've just arrived home since leaving for work earlier that morning. ..I needed a minute. After contacting the salon a second time to express my concern I asked to speak with Shay, D, or Diamond who by the way just did my hair a few short weeks ago ( 2 french braids). Shay and D are dealing with a personal matter and Diamond is with a customer I was told. I mentioned contacting Sunshine who managed the salon at one point. I then was placed on hold and quickly told 7pm was fine; there seemed to be a miscommunication ok no problem. STAY WITH ME ! I arrive a few minutes after 7... immediately when I walk in I can tell the energy is off and I'm uncomfortable. Long story short...When it was time to pay the acting manager attempted to charge me I think $50 or $60 more. I'm not paying that amount I stated! I booked online and my remaining balance is $25! I'm told the Adult Special is not valid on Fridays and stops after 2pm I believe. It's on our website she says. WHERE?? I explained it's not on the app!! Modifications/ Specials etc should populate in as such! I'm a paying customer and it's not my issue. This person then tells me she will call the police or they can take my hair out! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! HUMILIATED, APALLED AND PISSED! You're not taking nothing out! Call the police I have time today... I asked if she could call Sunshine, instead she call another person. They are negotiating my charges... ITS CRAZY! I kept my composure and didn't raise my voice while the young lady spoke to me as if I was someone off the street corner. Tried charging me for a blow dry ... wait my hair was washed, colored and blow dried in addition to me supplying my own hair! She spoke over me as I stated I was not in the wrong. Review the app yourself I expressed. She reviewed my appointment on the app and also watched me book the very same appointment for the following day; same style and price!!!! She threatened to charge my card on file no ma'am, I am paying with this card thank you! HONESTLY SHE PROBABLY STILL CHARGED THE OTHER CARD.. In all of my 45yrs of getting my hair done, I never in a million years could I forsee something like this taking place! I was so angry I was in tears. If you treated me like this then there surely are others! She told me I can never receive services! No You've lost my business and cost the owner a faithful customer. Be mindful of how you talk to people, how you address others and handle challenging situations. The consumer keeps you in business! This was my second time taking my daughter to the salon. Absolutely recommend. She is 2 years old and doesn't like to sit still. Brittany did a great job of talking to her and she worked with efficiency. We were out in under an hour. The braiding took her 30 minutes then she added the beads. My daughter has been going to this salon since she was 15 months old, and WE LOVE THIS SALON. It is uber kid friendly the staff is professional and the have my baby in and out in less than 2 hours. It is worth every penny. My only problem is I have to keep her appt booked in advance so she can get in to see her stylist. Mimi is always patient and amazing with her, and all of the stylist are patient, loving, and attentive to my baby. This is how we teach of baby girls to have a positive hair journey!!!! read more

My first experience with Princess Hair was not pleasant. I had a 12:00 appointment and walked through the door at 12:01. The stylist Diamond sent a confirmation text about an hour before my appointment and I ensured her we would be there. When I arrived I was told she had to finish up with another client. She didn't start my daughter's hair until 1:33!!! When she was confirming my appointment, she could've informed me that she was running at least an hour behind. Respecting customer's time is a good business practice. The worse part was that no apology was offered. I decided to give them another try since her hair came out nice and it's in my community. The second time I went Shay did her hair. It turned out fine and I was pleased. I figured the first time was a one-time bad experience. Unfortunately the 3rd time was not a charm. I had a 9 am appointment, however we were running late and had to take detours due to roadwork so we arrived at 9:13. I was told that there is a 12 minute grace period. Huh? I went back to check the emails I received and none even mentioned a grace period. She made that number up because the stylist had taken a walk-in. Wow! So, you make me wait for a hour and a half and that's ok, but let me walk in a few minutes late and you've canceled my appointment. She offered for me to come later but I couldn't make a later appointment. If you have a grace period, that should be stated in ALL correspondence with customers. Not to mention I had already confirmed my appointment via text the day before. I won't be going back and I won't be recommending them to anyone. I've held off until I'd received consistent good service. Never happened. If you're desperate and willing to accept poor communication and customer service, this is the place for you. I choose to spend my dollars with businesses that value my patronage. read more
