Beautiful pastries and coffee. Several tables or you can take it to go and run to the train.

This little spot reminded me a bit of the 24/7 diners back home in New Jersey. Kind of just a clean, no-frills place to grab a decent bite and a coffee. They have glass cases full of the most delicious looking pastries in the front by the cash register, just like diners do. My husband and I had already eaten so we just got a bunch of pastries to take back to our room. Boy they had a rather stunning variety. My personal favorite look like horseshoes that are encrusted with sliced almonds and covered in honey. Then the two ends of the horseshoe are dipped in chocolate. I have no idea what they are called. But holy Charlie Bucket, go get yourself one or three. I could've been very happy with a cup of coffee and one of those for breakfast a lot of mornings. One caution: the baked goods here are VERY sweet. They use a lot of honey and other gooey sweet sticky stuff in their baking. It's delicious. But if you need to watch your sugar intake like I do, be warned. Service was fine... not friendly and not unfriendly.

Our second visit to this neighborhood cafe to have coffee. Sadly no decaf for me but my husband…read moresays the latte is "ok. Good enough to have but not to especially seek out." The breakfast was also "ok" I had porridge with berries (frozen?presweetened?) and peanut butter. My husband had the "breakfast special" which is a typically Nordic multigrain roll, cut in half, with butter, cheese, and a sprig of lettuce. it was accompanied by a small serve of yogurt and berries, and an egg which had to be returned twice because he wanted it hard boiled versus poached, which is the norm. Service is just ok - seems to be a theme, right? It should be noted that this is a computer, free café, meaning they don't want people coming here and sitting at the tables all day working. In a way I find that refreshing because it means people are actually interacting with each other and coming here specifically too visit and catch up. Isn't that how it should be? TIP: there is wifi but you must ask for it (code Mozart19)

While I will not claim to be an avocado toast aficionado this was definitely one of the better ones I've had. Nicely toasted bun. Just enough avocado. Some salt and a dash of red pepper together with fresh greens was a hit. Nice tea selection as well. Highly recommend.

Thelins Konditori did not disappoint! There is spacious seating indoors and outdoors and this bakery had a classy, quiet atmosphere, which I very much love. I had tried the traditional Kanelbulle pastry bread which is kind of like an American cinnamon roll, except that this one had some kind of cardamom spice, cinnamon, and some sugar sprinkled on top. I had imagined this bread to be extremely sweet, but it was not too sweet at all and was perfect for an afternoon "Fika" break. This would have paired well with the coffee and espresso items that this bakery also offers. My husband ordered a mixed nut tartlet and it was extremely flavorful and had a buttery texture. The customer service here was phenomenal and the person taking care of my order was extremely kind and sweet. She spent time explaining to me which pastries were recommended. I highly recommend this place for both tourists and locals alike!

We were staying in the area and not knowing anything about this cafe we decided to make a visit…read more Stockholm was the last of our four-city visit in Europe and our state of jetlag was seriously creeping in on us so we were in dire need of a cup or two. The worker was friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English (which we started to realize about most people in Sweden making it quite easy on the American or British traveler). I had the kanelbullar, a Swedish cardamom roll which I've come to really enjoy with a cappuccino. The cappuccino was delightful and I was good to go after about 15 minutes. Later, we learned this was famous as being Stieg Larsson's (and Mikael Blomkvist's respectively) favorite coffee shop. But it was quiet and not at all crowded to our surprise and relief. Well, at least when we dropped by which gave us more of a reason to love this place. A must visit while in Stockholm.

After a quick search I decided upon Kaffebar yesterday and I'm back again today! Yes, it's that good here. In Sweden they apparently don't eat pancakes or any big breakfast though! Small portions are normal here, the options are yogurt, pastries and tiny meat sandwiches. On day one I settled for an herb-bun pastry that was some sort of sweet bread, accompanied by an espresso. First off the pastry was excellent, better than American pastries, however the espresso was so good compared to my normal Starbucks routine that I wasn't sure how to take it! Day two I switched it up and asked for hot coffee with cream and grabbed a cheese croissant from the self-serve pastry bar. The barista asked "milk?," which I replied "yes!" So they do milk here, not cream. Fantastic, both options by the way. After a few sips of coffee I'm high as a kite! The croissant was ah-maaaaaazing! You can sit outside and people watch or stay inside. Today I'm inside so I can write my family back home while my buddy sleeps for a couple more hours. The icing on the cake here, noted by other reviewers, is that Stieg Larsson, author of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, frequented this joint. Who knows, perhaps I'm sitting in his seat today?
