Much like Jaguar Shoes and Hackney Hardware, Printers & Stationers' name is a hangover from the former occupant of the space. Currently it trades as is a quirky quaint wine bar / shop.
The wine on offer (mostly French) is in the front of the shop, amongst a jumble of wooden chairs and bits of furniture, books, chandeliers and candles. You can pop in and buy a bottle, or, have a settle down and enjoy a glass or 3 in the rear of the shop. They also serve some basic brasserie faves to accompany the wine, like Croque Monsieur and charcuterie plates. The overall ambience is comfy and unpretentious, yet somehow you feel special ensconced in this tiny find behind Columbia Road.
The real kicker is on Sundays during the Market....they manage to get hold of absolutely amazing oysters. These are seriously the best oysters I've had in London. See the photo I've uploaded: fresh and utterly scrumptious, particularly when paired with a glass of Prosecco. Looking forward to whiling away some more time here. read more
