Walked in. Clerk received me nicely. Then, proceeded to cough to the point where It was like I was dying. Involuntarily. Front desk started socializing on irrelevant matters to some man who walked in. Laughing and joking about vacations. Unprofessional behavior. Still coughed like crazy. No sympathy. At least 15-20 minutes passed. Finally, got in the waiting room. Good check-up though, but later found out that there were about 2 other things I had on top of a fever. Paid out of pocket. Forgot my insurance card. Later came back a different day, brought my card back in, tried to get it----wasted several hours of precious time. Contacted my insurance and they had a 20 minute conversation with the people at the front desk. Still haven't gotten my reimbursement. They gave a relative of mine a VERY hard time as well, and he was helping out an elderly person. My aging relative had to go back and forth, repeatedly, just to accommodate a person that was sick. They need to step up their service standards. BIG TIME. Not fair. If sick people are coming to you, you got to do your very best to take care of them as best as possible and not look out for profits. Very simple. People are suffering right now in the economy. Is it really that hard simply to give a person a reimbursement after they got their insurance? Is it really necessary to gossip in the front desk when people in front of you are suffering? read more

Went in with hives all over. Was taken back almost immediately! The nurse who took my vitals rushed me through my description of what was wrong. and didn't bother to tell me my stats ... had me guess on my height and weight . PA came in pretty quickly- didn't really listen either and when I asked if he could tell me what was going on (was it from a bug bite or something I ingested) he went on to man-splain what an allergic reaction was. You think? Gosh I had no idea that the huge welts and growing itching was an allergic reaction- my body reacting. But - he did give me two shots and he was excellent- no pain whatsoever. Now I am waiting so he can check on me and send me on my way ...overall it was fine in a pinch when out of town and in need. He didn't want to start a conversation because, I'm sure he figured that I won't be back. read more

Let's face it: no one wants to go to a walk-in clinic, but what if you hurt your back moving furniture and need to see a professional? That was my dilemma, and my first instinct was to go to my old reliable clinic. But after waiting 10 minutes with no end in sight, I realized Premier was right down the street. Mind you, I hadn't been in the building since it was a Krispy Kreme. But I digress. So off I went, and the difference was night and day. Wide open waiting area with only one other patient. I filled out my paperwork and took a seat, and within minutes found myself in an exam room. Shortly thereafter I was off to the pharmacy to pick up some sweet sweet drugs. The red headed male PA (Aldo something) is by far the WORST medical "professional" I have EVER encountered. Condescending, arrogant, and downright RUDE. When I told him he had a terrible demeanor, he had to nerve to reply with, "Thank you". I have seen the young polish doctor at this facility before, and she was amazing! Upon calling after my virtual "visit", come to find out, she is no longer employed there. Big surprise. Not! Avoid like the plague! That ginger is absolutely VILE! read more

He was super dry, rude and didn't seem to care about any concerns that we had. This is a walk in medical center. I got here because my friend is not keeping well. When I walked in here I was thinking its gonna be a long day, like we walk into any emergency at a hospital. But I was wrong, took us 5 minutes to check in and a couple of minutes before my friend was called inside. The place is clean and very neat. At 10:0 AM I made an appointment for 11:00 AM; filled out the online information sheets for a new patient, and scanned and uploaded my Drivers License as required on the site. I was directed by text to arrive 10 minutes early for the appointment. I arrived 15 minutes prior and was advised there were 3 people in front of me (empty waiting room - so not so bad). I was given paper copies of the SAME paperwork filled out online that I was required to fill out; and also asked for my Drivers License that I had to scan and upload for the appointment (should have been my cue) At 11:20 while still in the empty waiting room I had enough (remember - I made the appointment 45 minutes before I showed up - and now already 20 minutes late just to make it into the inside waiting room. Not sure if this is the typical arrogance (our time has no value - the Doctors is all that counts); or just a process and staff unable to manage time - but it is not an acceptable situation and i would advise finding an alternate solution unless you simply don;t care about how you are valued. read more

I was billed although I went through my insurance. I have been trying to contact customer service to fix it, and it is impossible. Answering machines on a loop, that send you from one number to the next, eventually prompting you to leave a message to which no on replies. It has been impossible to talk to a person. read more

Wow, really impressed by a type of medical service that is often overlooked. Billing is never an issue here if you have insurance that they take. Fortunately, we live in an age where walk-in clinics take insurance... didn't used to be that way 10 years ago! If you don't have matching insurance, you're on your own to get reimbursed. That's how our [sad] healthcare system works, unfortunately. Call your insurance company before going to an UCC, period. I got swift and excellent service. Waited maybe 5 minutes to see the intake nurse, then another 5-10 to see the PA. I got a shot, a scrip, surrendered a mere $20 copay, and out the door I went. Couldn't have spent more than 45 minutes there by my estimate. And everyone involved was very friendly, from the front desk person, to the aforementioned nurse and PA. So, next time you step on a nail by accident (I'm stupid), this is your place. For you Central CT veterans - we all know this business replaced the Krispy Kreme. Although I've been living in Connecticut for the past 5 years, I am still a Massachusetts resident with health insurance in Massachusetts. For awhile, I had the benefit of using college on-campus medical facilities when I needed treatment but recently I've been having to seek out other means of urgent care. I've been to a handful of establishments over the past couple of years and this place, in my opinion is the best. The facility itself is conveniently located on its own lot on the Berlin Turnpike (right across the street from a pharmacy too). The inside is very clean and orderly with plenty of seating which is nice when you don't want to sit too close to a person with something you could possibly catch. Check-in was a breeze despite my MA health insurance card. The receptionists we're a bit concerned at first but I told them what my health insurance told me and they complied. Other urgent care facilities I've visited in this area have given me many problems when its come to my insurance. Most are lazy and won't even try to run the card and force me to pay out of pocket AFTER I've received treatment and could not say no. Anyway, the treatment I received was 'average'. I was a bit underwhelmed with the amount of time the doctor spent with me to discuss my problem (I do admit, it was kind of abnormal issue that took many different doctors to fix). But they never called in the script that they were supposed to... I'm sure a follow up call would have fixed this issue but I sought out different advice anyway. Regardless, I would still recommend this establishment to anyone in the area. I've had friends that have visited this place (for infections, step, and even stitches) and they've all had a great experience. read more

just got back from my first visit. Granted, just a minor skin issue, but very impressed nonetheless. Checked in online before I left home. Arrived a little early with all my forms filled out. Sat about 2 minutes in the waiting room and was seen by a nurse and then the Dr. immediately. He checked me out, explained everything well and I was out of there with the medication I needed sent to the pharmacy. Total time? 10 minutes at the most. Went in for a Lyme disease flare up, was seen quick and sent on my way. As this is a yearly problem I get the same prescription every time. However, after picking up my prescription I noticed they only gave me enough antibiotics for 10 days. After calling and going back and forth they refused to properly fill my prescription and told me to go to the ER. read more

The service was easy and fast but than to deal with the billing makes the whole thing not worth it. Adding fees to the bill that wasn't warranted. The insurance company even contact them to adjust and after 2 follow ups and 2 months they made the adjustment. Getting a hold of them is also and adventure. This place is pathetic. I came here for back pain. The doctor just asked what hurt gave me a prescription and left. Didn't ask how long i had the pain, if j did any activity or wasn't even trying to find the root cause of my issue. I am still shocked by the lack of caring and courtesy at this "healthcare" facility. I showed up dizzy, not being able to breath, and experiencing numbness in my arms at 7:35. The lady told me they don't take anyone past 730 because they close at 8. I told her I can't breathe, and she again said sorry we don't take anyone past 730. I will make sure to keep spreading the word around Newington to not think about going to a place that has such little concern for someone's well being. read more

Had a family walk in this evening at 730 because he couldn't breathe and his arm was numb...he was sweating...they told him they close at 8 and couldn't take anymore patients! Seriously! Guess they wanted to go home on time tonite. What kind if faculty are you running. Drove down the road to Medicare Express and they gladly took him at 745! How do you send away someone that is having trouble breathing and numbness in there arms just because it's 7:35 and you don't take patients after 7:30. Really?? You literally tell them to go down to another facility down the road!!! So they have to get behind a wheel and drive down the road feeling this way. What if they were having a heart attack? Did you really want to make sure you got out of work on time!! We arrived at 7:50 PM. We were informed they accept their last patient 30 minutes before closing at 8:00 PM. Consequently we were denied treatment. How were we to know that they only accept patients till 7:30 PM? Perhaps they should change the hours of operation to inform people that they only accept patients till 7:30 PM. Also when we had called in advance to find out if it accepted our medical insurance, we were told it could not provide that information until we came in and registered. read more

This place is great. It's very clean and modern. The doctor was so nice and actually listened to what I was saying. I was having stomach pains and they were able to do blood tests right there and sent me for an ultrasound. It was so much better than going to the ER. I had called my own doctor but his nurse said he couldn't see me until the next day and I felt really sick. She said I could go to the ER, but I went here instead and they took care of me right away. read more
