trash pickup is great , but the buck pu sucks everytime you have to complaint before action is taken, this problem for over 2 yrs

Honestly, probably one of the most hated companies in Metro Detroit. Between missed pick ups, deceptive billing practices, property damage, claim denials, and horrendous customer service on top of it all, I can't think of anything positive to say about Priority Waste. They publicly apologize blaming weather and excess yard debris on missed pick ups. I call BS, they miss pick ups all the time....this isn't just a single week issue.... This is an all year issue. So much so, I have a missed pickup complaint saved in my notes so I can copy/paste/submit. They also have a complicated billing/payment processing system where you accrue late fees that they downright refuse to waive. They don't make it easy to pay quarterly. Their drivers have hit my recycling can, knocked it over and left the debris all over my yard. Also, I have seen them throw my recycling in the garbage and I watch them like a hawk. It's difficult to get in touch with a real person on the phone and the wait times are long. Their recycling truck took my reselling package that was placed next to my mailbox with a note for USPS pickup. My recycling can is no where near my mailbox and had already been collected that day. I chased the truck down, miraculously no damage to my item aside from the box being crushed. I had to go out and purchase a new box due to their negligence, cancel and repurchase a new shipping label, and repackage an already difficult to pack item. They refused to pay for the new packaging after they crushed mine. I'd give Priority Waste no stars if I could! Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! read more

I physically drove 22 miles this week from my house in Bloomfield Hills to the office of Priority Waste cause they never return a phone call. It doesn't make sense. They keep missing my trash pick up. I went there. They were very polite very professional. They said my can had to have a decal that they gave me that says trash only Bloomfield Hills does not require a special Priority Waste trash basket so I put the decals on put my trash out and here it is Friday and I'm the only one that these guys drove by did not pick up my trash again and of course they don't answer the phones. They're not available after hours. It's just amazing how this continues to happen. read more

Today Friday, August 14, 2026, shout out to Will (Truck #4062) for the consistent incredible work he does, and we feel he need to hear how much we appreciate him. He is not only professional but very observant to see if any resident is pulling trash to the curve at the last minute to avoid miss pickup. He saw me putting the recycling can out just after it passed the house and came for it! I was bringing it from the backyard and heard the truck (me running w/the can). He always connects to customers with a good attitude. Thank you for keeping our streets and neighborhoods a cleaner place. Thank you, Will, for going above and beyond with the recycling can! Yet again, our garbage was not picked up. But the kicker is that just my garbage wasn't picked up. Our Pick up is on Tuesdays and it's now Thursday and its solely on the curb awaiting pickup. I've filled out the form twice and talked to someone on Wednesday, yet no resolution. We even saw a truck pass our garbage by. Not sure why Bloomfield Township switched services because it wasn't broken before, it wasn't perfect but the other company would come back the same day or next to pick up the garbage. I get no status updates even after I filled out the form. I also pay ahead for the full year, but they don't care as they already have our money. They also leave the cans sloppily on the roadside. Just not happy with their service. Today, thursday, 7/2, been sitting on the phone for over 6 minutes. Not sure why they won't talk to customers. I've also left a message with the city clerk. Heading into the holiday, we'll see if it gets picked up. Do better Priority Waste. Let's see if the new CEO cares. read more

we had to change service from Waste Management to Priority. It is much cheaper but it's been almost a month and still haven't gotten my receptacle. So we have had to leave the trash on the grass with nothing to put the trash in! So irritating. read more

I am writing to report a complete failure in service. Our recycling has now been missed for 4 straight weeks, totaling 6 missed pickups out of the last 7 weeks. To make matters worse, yard waste was also left behind this week. I have already contacted your team multiple times and even received a promise from leadership that this would be fixed, but the issues continue without any communication. Your phone lines are also impossible to get through to. Please have a supervisor contact me to confirm when our waste will be picked up. read more

The laziest trash service I have ever seen barely does their own job. Can't wait to move so I never have to see these people that we call our trash service. As of mid November 2024, things have been going better, overall. Trash and recycling are consistently being picked up on the scheduled day on the major road where I live. My community is contracted exclusively with them for a certain time period. I would want my community to look at other companies that will not charge such unreasonably high penalty fees to the customer in their service agreement. read more

Throw bins that has broken my lid. Can't get a hold of anyone on line to make payment. Auto pay doesn't recognize me. Can't get call back or I'm on hold forever being told by message system that the hold is 6 minutes. This never changes. So frustrating!!! read more

2 weeks my trash was FINALLY picked up on Saturday. My pick up day is on Tuesday. Last week compost was NEVER picked up. Same 2 containers are still at curb with 2 more compost cans added. THEY SUCK!!!!!!! read more

4 times this year I have had missed pickups, or they have skipped my house. You call them for service to find out what happened, and it takes hours to days to get a response. Someone really needs to have a sit down with the owners and get them of track so they can hopefully figure out something. This company frequently speeds past my house and misses my pick up. I tried to wave them down but they did not stop. I tried reporting on line from 8:45 - 4;00 as every other house in my neighborhood was picked up except mine. They even came back and picked up all my neighbors. I also tried calling many times they never picked up until shortly before they closed. Even when I spoke to someone I was not given a definitive answer. It rained last night, I finally dragged my full garbage can back. I was unable to resolve the problem with the company. I've lived at this home for 30 years and our township picks who we use. Horrible, Our city allowed up to 8 extra bags of garbage and they refused to take them with the bulk service that our taxes pay for. I waited for 2 days before finally giving up and dragging the bags which were soaking wet from recent rainfall back to the backyard. The contact forms are a joke and nothing really happens when you use them, you have to call or email them which takes hours if not days for a response with them ultimately saying there's nothing they could do and you have to wait until the next scheduled week where you'll have double this amount and the cycle will then repeat over and over again because now all of a sudden you have to break their rules by having more than what's allowed due to their negligence. I'd rather take this bulk to the dump myself than deal with these people in which we are stuck with them in the City of Westland who recently witheld payments to the comapany for the lack of service which improved the trash and recycling pick up but not yard waste and bulk. I now got maggots and flies all over the yard thanks to them and I reject their apology they gave on the news. read more

Horrible customer service. Reported heavily damaged 95gal bin top, cracked in half, via their website on July 8th, 2025. Email reply said they would be in touch in a "few days". As of today August 1st no one has responded. A secondary report was submitted via website, and numerous phone calls have been placed, but zero reply's. None, no call backs, no emails, no updates, nothing. When you call you wait, and wait, then when someone answers they say they are putting you back on a short hold, but instead they recycle you back into the queue. On one call I was given an estimated wait time of 1 hour and 28 minutes. No joke. I've had better experiances dealing with phone scammers than this company. And don't even try the call-back thing, doesn't happen. read more

Giving one star seems like too much. This company made us call for weeks to get our trash picked up and it is not easy to get a hold of them. We canceled and switched to a trash company that is amazing and just realized we are still getting billed, went to call and now can't get a hold of anyone. Beware!! read more

Worst possible service. Misses pickup all the time and also failed to cancel our service on their end (after hours on hold) when we switched to company that actually picks up our trash for half the price. Absolute embarrassment of a company. Run away. read more

Very rude drivers. They block of the street and don't care how many cars are backed up. I once waited 5 minutes before just turning around as their driver fiddled with the disposal mechanism. Tried reporting it but they left me on hold for 35 minutes so I just hung up read more

these guys are extortioners like the mob. I ended up with them when my trash provider sold the company to priority. After a couple years of poor billing riddled with problems I decided to quit and go to another provider. I was all paid up. when I canceled they came back and charged me $150 for a cancellation fee, 1.5 times a quarterly bill saying I didn't give them a 3 month notice. I never saw or signed up for these guys. they said when I paid I was acting their terms. I found it hidden on their websit, honestly it's BS. these guys are crooks for sure, stay away. read more

Priority waste is a joke. Their drivers have ruined 2 of my cans. When I call to get help with the issue all they can say is to email them about it and then they never return a call or an email. So when u call back about this issue they are telling me I have to pay for a new can. Why would I pay for something their driver broke. Company is a joke!! read more

The billing statements are confusing, with random charges that nobody can properly explain when you call, and you're constantly second-guessing whether you're getting ripped off or if this is just how waste management companies operate. It's not like they're terrible - your trash does get picked up most of the time, and when everything goes smoothly you forget they exist, which is what you want from a garbage service - but when things go wrong, and they do go wrong more often than they should, you're left feeling like you're paying good money for a company that treats you like an inconvenience rather than a customer. read more

They pick up every Wednesday by 10am. The guys are friendly and very helpful. I've had to call twice over GFL billing errors that they passed on to Priority. Both times I was not even on hold 10 seconds. I've rented a dumpster from them before and will be again next week! I just love Priority! Their pricing and customer service are top notch! read more

Horrible service. I was never a customer of GFL or priority and was sent a bill for 6 months of service which was in October 2025, and I called priority to inform the customer service . I also sent an email regarding the issue and I did receive an email stating the email was received. I never received another email stating the issue was resolved. In January 2026 I received another bill for service. I called the customer service again and the process was for priority would give me a call back. I did receive a call back but it went straight to voicemail before I was aware of the call. I did go on the website and chat with an AI and was instructed to email the billing office which I did on Monday and as of Thursday no response. I did call again and finally on Wednesday morning at 8am received a phone call from a human being and after being on hold for 15 minutes I was told the issue was resolved and balance was 0. I have made 4-5 phone call and an email to address the issue. I believe priority was using software on return ph calls that would go straight to voicemail bc there was 2 voicemail left and I had my phone on me and my phone didn't ring. I believe this has been resolved but it took several attempts on my part to do so. If I could I would give priority a 0, but it is 1-5 so it's a 1 star rating read more

Priority Waste recently acquired (July 1st) our trash collection service here in Scio Township (Ann Arbor) when they purchased GFL. Since that acquisition, we have had not had our trash collected. Our recycling was collected once. There has been ZERO communication from the company and when we call the company to ask about service we either get placed on continual hold or disconnected. The company claims that several of the trucks they purchased GFL are broken down and require service and maintenance. I don't buy it. GFL was our service provider for the past several years and never had a problem with their service and the trucks were always running on time and smoothly. I call BS on their excuses. This company has been jacking me around since February. There employee emptied my garbage and as a result the top cover came off and was sucked into the truck's garbage bin. I submitted an incident report immediately. First they had to look at camera footage. Then new carts were on back order and I was on the list. Then a crew was going to come in and see if it can be fixed. I live in Washington Twp. I'm going to City Hall and lodging my complaint. read more

A long Story, full of disappointment and lack of professionalism. The summary: In the summer of 2024 I ordered a new trash bin from the Priority Webpage. After 2 months without having the bin delivered, I called and was told they were running late, I waited another month. In September I called to get the operation cancelled. I was told it would be cancelled and my money returned under my original form of payment, after weeks of that didn't happening I contacted my credit card company and disputed the charge ( 135.68 usd). On my next billing priority is still charging me for a trash bin that was never delivered. I contacted them several times via phone and with their website. Explained the situation multiple times, to multiple people from their customer service team. They always said they would need to review it with their management. Nothing happened. They keep asking for the money of a product they never delivered. read more

we paid for trash pick up (6months) and the day they were supposed to come, they were "behind". We called to check and they said they were just running behind but still coming.... that was Tuesday. It is now FRIDAY, we have called on 3 different occ and tried to leave messages and mever get a call back when they are "looking into it". They have 0 communication!! Dont bother with this place, there's a reason they have less than a 2 on reviews. I guess we'll have to try again Monday, for a REFUND! I wish we could give half stars or zeros. read more
