Ever since this HORRIBLE company picked up the contract our streets and yards are littered with garbage they let blow all around nearly every week. 9 times out of 10 they don't pick up all three: trash, recycling, or compost/yard bags or combination of the sorts weekly. Their workers smoke and look like trash themselves...they even break bins and I'm supposed to get the truck #, what time of day, and take pictures of the broken items and then email them through some horrible form that doesn't work for them to CONSIDER processing my claim?! Dumping recyclables into garbage truck! This is the fourth time that I have witnessed this and called both priority and township office! The materials that I put in to be recycled are easily recyclable! Glass and cans, and papers! I do not want this stuff going into a landfill! Also, I am tired of taking my dog for a walk after priority has picked up, the amount of garbage and litter that has either missed the truck or flown out is appalling! Trucks are speeding well above the 25mph speed limit on neighborhood streets. When I shouted to slow down as the truck sped west, the driver came back driving east and took the opportunity to blow his horn long and loud at me. Near a local grocery store with adults kids crossing the street. I plan to lodge a complaint with the city and the company. read more

The service this year, 2025 has been completely unreliable. Pickups are made late in the evening or not at all. Trash should have been picked up yesterday the only pickup was recycle. The garbage is still at the curb and with the intense heat the smell is horrible. Macomb Township should definitely look for a different company to provide service. read more

Ignore the 1 star bc they deserve 0. 4th time they missed just our house for trash on our street. They've missed our whole street about 9 times total now as well. You call and are on hold for 30 minutes for them to tell you they'll come today, well that's what you've told me the last two days and yet here we are with my can full of trash at the end of my driveway still. They missed pickups for whole weeks. Regular trash bins, and Compost pick up were out for over a week and the compost was out long enough to kill the lawn it was sitting on. I called them 3 times and was told they would send a truck to pick up and they did not. I could see once in a while this happening, but it was over 8 times in the past few months. I live in Sterling Heights and we are using this company starting May 1, 2024. Their policies regarding the 1 container for refuse is in and of itself garbage. Not a fan, not happy about the switch Also recycling is actually more harmful for the planet, most recycled items can't be and are sent to a standard dump any way, There are now twice as many trucks on the roads polluting the atmosphere, twice as many process stations, etc.... This is the worst company I've ever worked with. We paid 500 dollars for a dumpster to be dropped off. It was a day late which made us waste labor help. Now it's been over a week late of them coming back to pick it up which has hindered us of getting another dumpster from a different company. Don't ever book anything through them. Awful to deal with. Refused to take our lawn bags 2 weeks in a row due to some dirt with the grass clippings. When called about it they stated they would put in a ticket about it. Never heard back from them. Second week they came by saw the bags and just drove past. Did not even stop. Called back again and they were very rude. read more

I have been calling and using your chat support since the first week in July, 2024. Because you have not normally picked-up on the schedule service day of Friday and there has been approximately 8-9 weeks of totally missed pick ups greater than 3-4 days. You did not picked Friday 08.23.2024, Friday 08.30.2024 and tomorrow will be Friday 09.06.2024 I know this is a holiday week but it will be 3 weeks this Friday! We live in New baltimore they never pickup on time, they pass my house 5 to 6 times and they still don't pickup my trash on the scheduled day, customer service sucks never speak to a live person. Horrible and verging on criminal. I wish I could rate Priority Waste LLC lower than 1 star. Their pick-up service is horrible. Pick-up is not consistent, I never know if they are coming back later in the pick-up day or will come back the next day. Their trucks leak. Trash is often left scattered on lawn or street. Priority Waste's customer service is even worse. I never received a bill for 2025 and always paid annually is the past. I just received my first bill for 2025 with two months late fees attached. I tried to call and system automatically put me in a call back que. After a day and a half of no call back from Priority, I tried to call again and the system told me I was still in the call back que. About four hours after my second call, I received a call from Priority Waste Customer Service (should be called Customer NO Service). I explained that this was the first bill I received and should not have to pay late fees. I was told any amount not paid on current bill would be added to my Property Taxes. WHAT A SCAM!! I suspect this how they are passing a price increase. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!! I have no recourse as Customer Service would not let me talk to anyone else and I can't find another number to call. read more

They are not picking up all my trash each week and they promise to come back out and get it and they do not! Hence another phone call! They are rude and you are in their phone system for hours! I've tried to call and speak to someone but all it says is they have high call volume and if you don't select a call back the system hangs up on you!!! WTF?!?! Horrible company. Do NOT do business with them. They bought out our subdivision's trash collection contract from GFL effective 7/1. We're supposed to have weekly pickup. But today is 7/11 and they've refused to come out. The entire neighborhood's trash has been piled up on the street waiting to be picked up. Trash is blowing around, the smell is awful. But numerous calls to them have resulted in nothing. After being on hold for close to an hour, a "Norman" at Priority Waste gave our HOA a blow-off answer saying, "We'll get to it as soon as possible." That was 4 days ago. Abysmal company who refuses to honor the contract. We're already exploring new bids from alternative vendors. These people are utterly unreliable. Stay far away from them. read more

I was charge an NSF fee even though no funds ever came out of my account and the money was there. I tried to explain the software glitch their company had, but was told I was lucky because they usually charge 50.00 The representative also told me that even the company President would be unable to reverse the charge. Terrible. I would give zero stars. Switched from GFL to Priority in July 2024 and the driver told my husband they don't get out of the truck to pick up extra garbage bags that aren't in the bin. THAT'S NEW and varies by team because the driver in another area of Shelby got out of the truck and did it at my mothers house in Shelby Twp the next day. I called Priority and they never answer and it eventually hangs up. Online messaging service won't even load. Shelby Twp needs to correct this for it's taxpayers and find another vendor. read more

So far, Priority has done a decent job. A glass broke during the trash collection process, a young picked up the pieces that were large enough to pickup with his hands and disposed the broken glass. Why is that so important. #1, it helped someone not have a flat tire. #2, the gesture showed professionalism. #3, it always pays to do the right thing even when you think no one is watching. #4, its a senior community. Shelby Twp, MI - Since July of 2024 Priority has been our garbage pick -up. I never write reviews about companies but this one is horrible! I would not even give them one star but you can't write a review without it. I have had to call them on several occasions to come pick up the garbage, recycle and yard waste. They are constantly late and give you a standard answer "we're running behind." They don't answer the phone without a two hour delay/call back option. Not once have they answered my emails, yet they certainly expect payment for services not rendered. I was sorry to hear that GFL sold SE Michigan to them. At least GFL never missed a day and replaced bins if the drivers wrecked them without charge. Priority Waste get it together you have many unhappy customers. It's been a year since you took over garbage pick-up, so no more excuses. Start thinking of your customer base and not your lining your pockets for profit without taking care of business. read more

Recently, I learned that Priority Waste has acquired the contract for residential trash/recycling/yard waste from GFL for Oxford Township in July, 2024. Bad on GFL for not notifying their former customers. Just this week I learned from a trash truck driver (very nice fellow) that our pickup date changed from Friday to Tuesday, another unhappy surprise. Our recycling and compost bins have not been emptied for three weeks. In addition, we have 10 bags of leaves that have been awaiting pickup for 10 days. I have called Priority waste multiple times asking when these will be taken care of. I have very politely been told they are busy picking up Oxford yard waste. The third time I called, a Missed Trash Ticket was generated. It is now 10/31 and the bins and bags still have not been picked up. I was reading the Oxford Township Election Proposals and saw that No. 3 is for a Single Waste Hauler Ordinance...I was all for it until I read in the Oxford Leader that the proposed company, by providing the lowest bid, to be none other than Priority Waste. Now I will not give this a Yes vote, unless of course, my compost/recycling and leaf bags are picked up before November 5. read more

This company practices with bad faith. My car was parked in the neighborhood street and their truck slammed into mine, totalling my car. It turns out the employee never reported it to Priority, and I had to myself. After several hours of being on hold, I was told that it was my fault for parking on the street, which I have parked there for 6 years with no issue, and that they would not compensate me for rental coverage. They did not have an ounce of urgency or empathy for my situation or any professionalism. They also told me to refrain from filing with their insurance, again sketchy and in bad faith. As soon as they found out I did, the "legal representative" told me there was no point in even taking action on their end whatsoever. She was incredibly condescending, blatantly rude, and did NOT handle the situation in good faith. Here I am carless, and having to file several claims on their behalf since they refuse to do so. If they ever damage your property, I suggest going directly to the police, obtaining their insurance information, and going from there since their customer service is useless. Avoiding insurance claims in a company of this size is highly concerning, and it appears to me that they damage property often and try to keep silent to avoid compensating for it. AGAIN, DO NOT USE their costumer service unless you enjoy being ridiculed and talked down to. read more

Several neighbors are having this issue. They don't pick up the recycled trash on the day they are assigned. You reach out to their customer service who state they will send someone out the next day and they never show up. Never had this issue with the previous provider. Whoever in Macomb MI government decided to use this provider needs to be fired. We are going to take our trash, put it in pick-up trucks, and throw it in the parking lot of Priority Waste. If they don't come get the trash we will bring it to them. Where is our refund for no services delivered? read more
