After several tests, the last being an MRI, we learned he had suffered with a mini stroke. She stayed with him for several hours and got him through a rough time and continued to care for him on Sunday. He has back problems and she had a recliner brought in for him. That made him so much more comfortable. On Monday, 2 different nurses took care of him - Eliza Sanspury & Ashley Birkett. They were wonderful caring nurses as well. Very cheery and efficient. We were also impressed with Dr. Wang. He spent a lot of time with us explaining what had happened to Jim and helped us understand what the best treatment plan was for him. The entire experience for that 3 days was wonderful. We felt that we got the best possible CARE at this Hospital!

Despite this medical emergency occurring before any actual visit, we were charged for the encounter. When I initially contacted the location, Prisma on Tiger Blvd., I was told that "they did some stuff on him," which did not align with what occurred. I was also told their manager said we were not entitled to a refund. After numerous attempts to speak with someone within Prisma, I was finally contacted by Patience Boyd, who informed me that she had reviewed the video footage of the incident. She confirmed that a refund was warranted. That conversation took place on January 30th, and I have yet to receive the refund or any follow-up communication. I have called Patience again to inquire about the status, but I still have not received any response. This situation has been extremely disappointing. I should not have to make repeated calls or navigate multiple departments to receive a refund that Prisma has already acknowledged is due. Given the seriousness of the circumstances, this should have been handled promptly and proactively. Please confirm that the refund is being processed immediately, along with a clear timeline for when it will be completed. If additional information is needed from me, I expect to be contacted without further delay.

I just left this office after attempting my first visit with Dr. Hagenauer (who is not the reason…read morefor this review). Let me preface this lengthy review by saying I have 12+ years of clinical healthcare and patient experience from working in a corporate hospital as a therapist. While completing 16 pages of new patient information (which had to be delivered to the practice no less than 3 days prior to my appt.), I had an issue with signing all of the parts in PRISMA's "General Permission to Treat" form. When I asked to please discuss this form (in private and not at the check-in desk in the waiting room where they first began discussing it with me), they sent the Office Manager, Mary(?), out to speak with me. I asked to please speak somewhere in private and she invited me to step outside through the door and onto the porch saying there was no one out there. I explained that I have never seen such a lengthy and detailed release of private, privileged information which required my full consent before I could be treated. At most I have signed a HIPPA privacy release and a guarantee I would pay any bills - a standard which I would most certainly agree to. I shared with her that I felt uncomfortable with wording in certain areas of the form and had called the office beforehand to see what I could do. They had instructed me to cross off what I did not agree to and that I could discuss the form in the office with the MD further when I came for my appointment. The office manager said this was incorrect and a patient could not do this. She asked me to show her the areas on the form where I was uncomfortable signing, but then took the paperwork from me while I was still attempting to read and explain. She would not allow me to finish showing her the areas of concern and instead spoke over me and interrupted me countering every concern I had with a flippant response which did not address my concerns. She lacked any patience, was aggressive, and showed zero compassion. The overarching problem with this form, and more importantly my interaction with the office manager, was that I was told to go elsewhere if I didn't want to sign every section of the form. The office manager stated that this is "Corporate Policy" which was required to be agreed to in full and PRISMA provides 2/3 of the state's healthcare so good luck finding a place where I didn't have to sign a form like this. My response was that even without this dubious form, I would never want to receive healthcare from a place that doesn't value or have time for their patient's concerns. The manager told me this was my right and I left. BEWARE, this practice is NOT patient-centered and is clearly more committed to the corporation which owns and governs their every move. I will find a provider through AnMed, who has cared beautifully for my child over the last two years and always had time to address any questions or concerns.
