There was no…read moresnowstorm during this time frame, this is a complaint for service completed at the end of Feb - the time gap between service and review (as explained) is because we are not residents and didn't know there was a problem. We trusted the job was done and didn't know it wasn't until a neighbor alerted us the lawn was dead at the end of March. We then reached out to Harrison to try to rectify. Instead of taking accountability - he replied similarly - deflection, excuses and blame to the customer. An unfortunate and unprofessional response. We called Harrison to service a sprinkler system of an older relative who had just moved into a care facility leaving the home unoccupied. The ask was to service the system and turn on the sprinkler schedule for the season. Harrison serviced the system but failed to set it to run. We are managing this from afar so this was a critical and unfortunate oversight - and has resulted in the sprinklers never actually running (and the lawn being in terrible condition). When we reached back out to try to understand the issue, Harrison deflected responsibility, said of course he didn't turn the system on because the service call was on Feb 21 and he had concerns about cold so he left it off. (FWIW temps were not below freezing at the time of service nor any time after.) His solution was to suggest we get a neighbor to help out to get the system running. It is frustrating to pay $125 for a service call where one of the two asks was not addressed - we don't recommend nor will we be using him again.

They did a good job and typically responded to text messages within a reasonable amount of time. However, I tried to contact them by email and cell text this week and neither of them responded until I prompted them a 2nd time. The email response to my request was to inform me that they would no longer service Niceville and would concentrate on Destin. My question is when were they going to tell me, the customer? I asked when would be my last service since I just found out today via email and still no response. While they did a decent enough job taking care of my lawn, terminating service without a heads up so I have time to find another service is not the way to do business.

Our patio turned out exactly how we hoped it would, and the extra pavers were left for us to use to create a pad for our trash cans...BUT Jake took it upon himself to place them under our cans so we didn't have to lift a finger. Our patio table and chairs were also moved from the grass onto the new patio, which was unexpected, but so appreciated. They came and removed the old lawn (which was more dollar grass than lawn). They placed earth in the low spots, the next day they had pallets of sod delivered and immediately began installation. They moved sprinkler heads where needed, added extra heads to ensure the entire area was getting watered. Before they started work, we decided to have our 20 year old timer box replaced and now I can operate the watering from my cell phone. Kenny was very patient in teaching me how the app works.They removed the old sprinkler box and capped it off. I had an old school, manual control irrigation system with a broken pump that had not been functioning since I purchased the house. I knew that several heads were broken and suspected several broken pipes underground. I called Kenny and he answered right away and came out the next day to diagnose and give me a quote. We decided to replace the pump and upgrade to a digital system. Kenny's team showed up a few days later and completed the pump install and digital conversion in just a few hours. After that was done, they powered it on and the fun began. They were able to quickly detect line breaks and repaired them with essentially zero damage to my recently laid sod. Kenny and his team helped me to determine which heads needed replacing and calibrated each one to ensure proper coverage. I no longer have to drag a hose and sprinkler around my entire lawn, but rather I can click a button on my phone app and watch the water show begin. Even better yet, I can let the system decide for itself when to water because of the automated program that Kenny set up that is based on weather conditions and previous rainfall amounts. Also, because of the pump, the water is "free" and no longer coming from the city water spigot attached to my house. My experience with Paradise Outdoors is probably the best experience I have ever had, with any contractor that I have ever hired to do any type of work, in three different homes/three different states over the past 20 years.

That said, Tyler assessed my system and discovered my pump was cycling frequently, sprinkler heads impacted below the base of the grass, sprinkler heads on the same zone as rotary sprinklers, and some sprinklers were too close to the house. In addition, he addressed my desire to add more heads to the back of my property and provided his professional opinion and advice. Once the assessment was complete and rough estimate of the time and cost, Tyler and Mike performed an irrigation system valve reconfiguration, zone expansion, sprinkler head maintenance, sprinkler head relocation, and installation of two valve boxes. This was a two-day project and I could not be more pleased with the SKILL, PROFESSIONALISM, and EFFICIENCY displayed by Tyler and Mike.
