I've been incredibly happy to join the Basecamp community. Their 30 days for $60 deal is what got…read moreme in the door, but after those 30 days, I wasn't ready to quit! The workouts are varied and challenging. Each day of the week is dedicated to a different part of the body (legs, upper body, core, etc.). The coaches are motivating and great at both correcting form and offering variations for moves that may be difficult for people with knee or other issues. Shout out to Coach Euni! Her classes are always the most intense and leave me feeling spent in the best possible way! The front desk staff are incredibly friendly and make an effort to learn your name so they can greet everyone personally. Great gym! Highly recommend!!

Barry's Burlingame was one of the worst first-time gym experiences I've had. (And that's saying…read moresomething since I recently tried 7 gyms in the Burlingame/ San Mateo / Millbrea areas). I showed up 5 minutes early and instead of focusing on onboarding or safety, the staff prioritized forcing me to create a marketing account and hand over my email before class. Nobody asked about **my knee pain** or offered workout modifications like Basecamp or Burlingame Fitness did. I was thrown into a dark room mid-class with no idea where my station was, what weights to use, or even how to start(!) the treadmill, while the oversized class made it impossible for the instructor to notice I was struggling. I had to stop multiple times just to change weights and restart. Change and restart. In the end, I lost the class credit and time. The whole experience felt like corporate lead-generation and profit mattered far more at Barry's than the safety and success of new members.

I was really impressed with the level of care and attention she gave my friend and I during our first session--I could tell she genuinely cared about meeting our personal health and fitness goals. Beyond that, she successfully demonstrated her expertise in her field...she had asked us to simply walk, carefully watched how our bodies moved, and pointed out the areas where we were imbalanced. After giving us a few mobility exercises, that imbalance was pretty much gone! She definitely knows what she's doing. After months of training with Adriana, I can say that there's definitely been huge improvements not only in my body but in my health. (A note to prospective clients with recent injuries: Adriana not only modified my exercises to avoid re-injury but she gave me exercises to help build the strength it needed). She's changed the way I think about food, and I definitely have her to thank for it. I also never got bored with her! She was certainly challenging and knew when to push us a little harder, but she's so positive and encouraging that working out with her was always more fun than going to the gym. She's been my trainer since 2023, and my health has never been better. She's Hawaiian sunshine in human form, always upbeat, which definitely helps at 7 a.m. Her happy-go-lucky energy is so constant I can't decide if she's my trainer or just a very cheerful Energizer Bunny in disguise. She's also dedicated, always learning the latest fitness research to fine-tune my workouts. She helped me get stronger, and now we're tackling weight loss. But don't think it's all serious science--sessions with her are also comedy shows. She'll get distracted, lose count of my reps (always when they're the hardest ), and then showers me with a nonstop chorus of "Good job! Good job!" until I finally give her the side-eyes . But here's the thing: even with the chaos, Chermayne knows exactly what she's doing. She motivates me, keeps me accountable, and somehow makes sweating buckets feel fun. I've been trying to cancel my membership since Thursday, Sept 19th, well before the October payment. I've reached out to the owner through EVERY possible channel--her personal Instagram, the gym's Instagram, and email. I even followed up again on Wednesday, Sept 25th. STILL no response. I've asked her multiple times to just confirm that my membership has been canceled, but she's completely ignored me. Meanwhile, she's active on Instagram promoting the gym but can't take two minutes to respond to a paying member trying to cancel? Just a simple "Your cancellation has been confirmed" It's beyond unprofessional. As a gym owner, communication and customer service should be a priority, yet she's clearly avoiding handling this. What makes it even worse is that the sign-up link says you can cancel, but apparently that's not the case when the owner refuses to acknowledge or confirm anything. I've never dealt with such terrible service. If you're considering joining this gym, I'd highly advise looking elsewhere.

I'm sure coaches are constantly being tugged at, but I don't feel like my questions were stupid or out of line, especially for a newbie. When I go to the gym I never know how long to workout or how many reps to do. My prayers were answered when I saw an ad for a 30 minute BLAST class at Anatomy. That sounded great but it was probably going to cost a lot. Wrong again!!!! The class is only $10.00.....really? It is a make you sweat hard workout but the beauty part is its affordable,FUN,and quick. You get your moneys worth and then some. I am seeing results week by week and feeling more confident every step of the way. Our trainer/teacher Francine is very experienced and I feel lucky to have found such a great class. She is also the sweetest and most down to earth person ever. The gym is very clean and its decorated really nice. All in all I am very happy with my experience. 5 Star all the way!!!!
