When I initially called, I spoke to Gary who seemed fantastic. I chose this school because of their stated priority of safety. My husband and I thought that our kids would be in good hands. Unfortunately it was a different instructor who showed up for my son's first lesson. My boy was a first-time driver who had never been behind the wheel, truly a newbie. The instructor did not believe that my 16 year old had NEVER driven. Instead of orienting him to the car (mirrors, brakes, steering wheel, turn signals, etc.,) the instructor immediately had him "driving " on our town's major streets (Lindero, TO Blvd...) the "lesson" was dangerous and the instructor foolish. After I found out what happened, I called the office. The gentleman who answered the phone was defensive and unhelpful, basically saying that we were mistaken and that instructor was really good. Of course, I never took my kids back there. I feel like we dodged a bullet that no one got seriously injured. What a disaster. read more

We were very impressed with this driving school. We were referred to Pro Am from my neighbors. My son earned a perfect score on his road test a week after he turned 16 in January. The drivers were professional and patient. On the one occasion their car got a flat tire before they were supposed to meet us, they were in touch an hour beforehand and were looking to reschedule immediately, but they secured a spare and were only a few minutes late. I admit, I was hesitant to let my 15 1/2 year old daughter alone with a complete stranger, let alone is his car!... But what's a parent to do when you have to have your kid spend 6 hours behind the wheel with a professional driving instructor? Well, if you're crazy like me, you call all the top rated schools and get a feel for the instructors, or at least you try to. Not feeling very impressed with the other top rated businesses, I contacted Pro Am Driving School. I must have spent 30 minutes on the phone with John, one of the instructors at Pro Am. He totally understood where I was coming from, having kids of his own. Completely put me at ease and let me know it was 100% okay for me to come along while he trained my daughter. So I'm very glad I decided to go with Pro Am. Yeah, I did go along for first training ride and it was awesome. John teaches a hell of a lot more that just the basics of driving. It started out with a basic lesson of how the car works in the first place, the engin, how to check the oil, what brake rotors and pads are, (and how much they cost to replace!) situational awareness and more. My daughter was completely at ease with John. And just the first two hours of training has greatly increased her confidence in driving... I sought out Bill after reading the reviews on Yelp. My 5th child passed his driving test, and was licensed to independently drive, but I just didn't feel quite comfortable with his skills. I asked Bill to take him out for a few hours just to assess and see what he thought. One 2 hour outing driving freeway, canyon roads, etc and he returned assuring me that he was absolutely fine and good to go. He could have easily "sold" me on a few more lessons, and his honesty is certainly refreshing. And now, we are all happy, especially my son!! We used Pro Am Driving School. Our daughter turned 16 today and passed her test easily! We actually live a distance away but found Pro Am online and liked the fact that they did freeway/canyon driving, and that the instructors are actually professional drivers. Craig was our daughter's instructor, and he was super nice and a very good communicator/easy to understand. In the last session he took her through everything she would need to know for the test, and she was fully prepped. We'll be back when our son is ready in a couple of years!! We used Bob's Pro Am driving school for our daughter (it was recommended by two other parents who used the school for their sons). Very satisfied! Each session taught her something essential and they went over routes that she was bound to use in her daily life, like going over Kanan to get to the beach, going over the route used for driving tests, etc. We were driving with her nearly every day, so we could really tell when the lesson made a difference. Her confidence went way up, and ours did, too. I also liked that they were flexible about where to meet her and where to end the session (usually at our house, but sometimes at her job). This was a really easy and great experience for us. My daughter failed her driver's test at the local Thousand Oaks DMV. She's been waiting for months because of the delays due to Covid. Fortunately she had also scheduled an appointment earlier in the month for the following Monday at the Winnetka DMV. Needless to say she was very nervous and upset about failing her test. That's when I called the folks at Pro. They scheduled a session for her on a Saturday. When they showed up to our house they learned that the upcoming test wasn't at the local DMV like I told them because I was mistaken, but that it was in Winnetka. Without hesitation the driving instructor said "Then let's go to Winnetka... we want to do this right!" They went out to the Winnetka DMV driving course that he was familiar with spent the afternoon there. Even though she was nervous she was totally prepared. When she took her test Monday at the Winnetka DMV... She passed! Can't thank these folks at Pro Am enough! A first class organization with great personable people. John was patient, professional, and had a great sense of humor. His pre-driving presentation was informative and helped my wife and I learn about the car, its mechanics and how it functions. Gary is a really caring guy and he loves to teach kids how to drive correctly he actually seems to care about that. He is a retired stunt driver and what better qualifications then that. I like this guy he improved my daughter's driving she really enjoyed her lessons with Gary. My kid tells me still if I do something wrong on the road. Gary said this and Gary said that. Gary was patient with my daughter and she told me he is a funny guy and she felt comfortable with him. we almost went with someone else for a driver instructor but we are so glad we went with Gary instead. I saw his car parked at Rite Aid in Agoura and I said to my daughter lets call Pro Am Driving School and find out what he has to say. My daughter's driving lessons she drove in the rain and she passed her driving test the first time and that was in the rain. My daughter and myself were actually grateful that she got Gary for a driving instructor because she told me that compared to her friends driving instructors that Gary was more thorough. He must of taught her a few good things because she got her license in April I think it was and in June my daughter and her friend took a road trip from southern California, Oregon and Washington State for five weeks.
