The resoles are amazing! The edging feels brand new. Shoe still fits like a glove. There is only good things I have to say about all the pairs Benet resoled. Wait time: was longer by a few days than what was listed on the website but it was the holidays so I expected that. Communication: Solid. Benet responded to my text messages and answered all my questions. I would ask for status updates (did you receive the shoes and around 5-6 weeks check in for status update). Keep it simple and don't be micromanaging. Communicate if you need to have it by a deadline at least let him know. If no deadline just wait and check in after 6 weeks for a status update. Trust me the quality of the resole is worth it Overall: I'll be going to Benet for future resoles. read more

I sent 2 pairs at the end of July, one pair needing to repair a hole in the toe leather. As others have said here, communication is almost non-existent. I called once to check the status of the shoes, but no return call. I received them back mid-October, so that was a 13 week turnaround. But the toe was fixed and the rubber looks good. I sent two pairs of Tenaya Ras to be resoled in late October, 2022. I even paid for one of them up front and it's been over 3 months and I haven't heard a single thing. I've left tons of text messages, emails, and voicemails without one reply. At this point I figure my shoes have been swallowed by a black hole and I have to buy new ones. Don't make my same mistake. i almost never leave yelp reviews, but im putting this out there so other people don't repeat my mistakes. a couple friends and i had ~10 pairs of shoes to resole; the usual spots were fully booked up so we looked around to see what alternatives were out there. we saw that pro deal resoles had a quicker turnaround (score!), cheaper prices (double score!), and offered a pretty wide selection of rubber. we were mostly resoling old shoes and gym beaters, so it was a "eh why not" kind of decision. let me tell you why not. 1) communication. it really is as bad as previous reviews have said. i'm not sure who's getting benet to reply to emails but it certainly wasn't me. standard things like "we got your shoes" or "here's when we think it'll be ready" were never communicated. 2) related to #1, timing. we originally went to pro deal resoles for the advertised quick turnaround. however, not only did the other resolers end up getting the work done quicker, they were more transparent about the status of the work. the shoes we sent to pro deal resoles felt like they entered a black hole and most of us ended up replacing those shoes since we had no idea when (or if) the resole would be done. 3) quality. i can honestly live with #1/2, but this is the real deal breaker here. i had read reviews of people's shoes delaminating, but once again, why not, right? when i received my box of 10 shoes back about 3 months later, i found that 3/10 shoes already had toe rubber that was peeling off the shoe. since returning shoes to my friends, most have reported that their shoes have also started peeling after light climbing. as for my personal experience, i took a fresh spankin pair of tn pros for a couple days of multipitch, and by day 4 both shoes were showing severe signs of peeling. 4) honesty. when i received the shoes and saw the 3 pairs with peeling rubber, i sent an email to benet asking for a partial refund (or maybe even just an explanation?). it's been 2 months and i'm still getting ghosted. overall, we wasted about 3 months and $400, and we have 10 pairs of shoes that STILL need resoling. lesson learned, stick with the reputable resolers read more

I really have to honestly say that I don't understand what the other reviewers are talking about at all! Maybe things have changed over the past few years for the better. I contacted Pro Deal Resoles (PDR) in early 2013 about getting a couple of pairs of shoes resoled. I had some that were severely damaged, and others that weren't too bad. The owner, Bennet, was very fast to respond to me with price quotes for each pair. I'll add that a couple of my pairs, most resole shops wouldn't touch as they said the rand was too damaged. I filled out the forms and sent my shoes off via USPS express to PDR. USPS is kinda slow, but they eventually got there at the end of the week. It took PDR 5 business days to resole and repair all of the shoes I sent in and then they were shipped back to me and I received them early the following week. During the whole process Bennet was extremely responsive and answered all of my emails within a few hours. So from a customer service and speed standpoint I give this company a huge 5 star rating! So how about the actual work? I am extremely impressed with the work and resole job! They look great and all of the damage on every pair of shoes I sent in was completely fixed! I would even go so far as to say that on one of my newer La Sportiva pairs, the point where the sole connects with the rand looks better after the PDR resole job than the original manufactured sole. On top of all of that, PDR offered a variety of different rubber types that matched all of the shoes I sent in. I decided to go with "inexpensive" on the pricing for this review, because while rock climbing shoe resoles are not exactly inexpensive, PDR has easily the most competitive prices of any resole company, with a resole coming in at only $25 and a full repair for any damage to a pair at $39 (I had a few of these haha). So in conclusion, as of 2013, I would say this is definitely one of the better rock climbing shoe resole places you can use. I highly recommend them for the great service, really good quality resoles, and a fast turnaround. I'm not sure what happened a few years ago, but whatever problems the other reviewers experience are clearly gone now! read more

Just got my shoes back from Benet and he did a great job. My evolvs look great. Took almost a month door to door, but it seems like all resolers are backed up, so I expected it. I sent Benet an email asking about whether he got my shoes and he responded almost immediately. The edges are sharp and where the new sole meets the rest of the shoe is almost seamless. Really great work and fantastic price. Takes a while, but rest assured that your climbing shoes will come back looking perfect. read more

Surprise, surprise! The shoes I sent in on 12/17/10 finally came back to me on 6/7/11, with no prompting on my part since January. I had given up on them for good so was extremely surprised to receive them. Better late than never. The shoes were resoled well, too. Obviously, though, I still can't recommend this Pro Deal Resoles since 1) there was absolutely no communication on their part and 2) six months turnaround is hardly an acceptable amount of time. I'm not at all sure what the bad reviews are about; it appears that if the business was ever subpar that they've turned it around. My shoes were returned to me with an excellent resole in about 2.5 weeks from when I shipped them! I will say the communication was a little off, as they were returned before I paid for them. I have to say that old reviews may have been accurate at the time, but Bennet at Pro Deal Resoles has changed his way of doing business for sure. In line with current reviews, my experiences have been great. Communication is almost instant. He would write back to multiple texts/emails within the same day. His work is top notch as well. Good quality resoles at lower than average prices. Communication was very lacking though, so next time I'll pay a few extra dollars and go somewhere else. Benet did not respond to the several emails I sent him, including one asking for a partial refund on shoes that I prepaid for the rand repair, where the rand was not repaired (I guess it wasn't needed). My friend who also sent his shoes there tried to get a hold of him incessantly, leaving emails, calling at different times, to find out why his shoes were taking longer than expected, and did not get a single response. I'll be honest, based on earlier reviews on both Yelp and Mountain Project, I was a little hesitant to send my shoes in to Prodeal Resoles. But, I have to say that I am pretty stoked on the fast turn around, prompt reply to my inquiry email and of the resoling itself. I used these guys in the past and they were great, very inexpensive. However I recently mailed in 2 pairs of climbing shoes which arrived on 12/23/16. Today is 1/10/17 and I still haven't heard from them. Been calling them and leaving emails and nobody gets back to me. Oh and they charged me for the repair right away. I was a bit hesitant about sending my shoes to Benet given some of the older reviews, but after chatting with him a little I decided to give it a shot, and I'm really glad I did. Benet was super communicative at each step of the way, and he contacted me the day my shoes arrived at the shop, again when he'd put together an estimate, and then when the work was done and they'd shipped. From receiving the shoes, he turned them around in only 4 days, and they showed up on my doorstep 2 days later. I was worried after reading the past reviews but the newer ones are right. I sent my Miura VS out on a Tuesday, 3-3-2015, they sent me an email after they made the repairs, 9 days later. They repaired the rand on one shoe so I felt obligated to send over another $9. I never had my shoes resoled before but the shoes almost look brand new. I would also recommend them Note: We both used a DuPont Tyvek envelope from USPS to mail these shoes and everything arrived in tact. read more

Although I have sent shoes to this guy before and he has always done a good job, the last time I sent shoes, he had them for over six months. I had called, left messages, emailed and gotten no response. After some research, it seems he has stiffed a lot of other people on money and/or shoes. I had to send a certified letter to his mother threatening to sue to get two pairs of my shoes and two pairs of a friend's back. They did not come back resoled, of course. He can do a good job, but he is completely unreliable. I suggest Fly'n Brian, Rock and Resole or the Rubber Room instead. read more

As others have noted, PDR had some serious issues back in 2010/2011. However, I have seen a number of positive reviews in the last year or two and decided to give Benet a chance. He responded within an hour of putting my order in, and had my shoes back to me in less than a week of sending them in. He did a fantastic job and the price is great. read more
