Please note I would give more then 2 stars for the doctors themselves, they were great for what I got done, but the terrible service I've dealt with just from reception and thats why this review is only 2 stars. I moved to the area a year ago and needed to get my wisdom teeth taken out. So I researched and seen all the locations are not far from my house. I've seen some positive reviews on here and on their website so I decided to try them out. The 2 doctors I've seen were very nice. When I went in for a consultation I met with Dr. Adams and he was very polite and told me how they would extract my teeth. 2 weeks later I went in for the 2 wisdom teeth and I met Dr. Brar, he was really nice and the nurse who was with me that day was also very nice, I don't remember her name. The procedure itself didn't take very long at all, and my mouth is very small so one side was much much harder then the other and I have to give it to Dr. Brar that he did not get frustrated and calmly told me what was going on the whole time. It was a successful procedure in the end, except part of a filling I had on the tooth in front of the wisdom tooth fell off and he told me that it looked decayed and that I needed a crown put on it. When I went in to get my stiches removed, they were very pushy about setting up a time to get that crown done which I didn't like. When I went to my regular dentist for his opinion he said I would not need a crown put on it and that I could just get it re-filled. So I saved a lot of money by getting his opinion. I got this procedure done in October 2015 and before I left that day they gave me some random amount to pay for the procedure. So I did that and she said the paperwork would be put through to my insurance. Well half way through November I received a bill for the full amount of the procedure when it still has not gone through my insurance. I called and asked about it and a lady told me not to worry about the bill and that they were putting it through insurance that week. It is now the end of December and I have received yet another bill with late fees and the full amount being charged AGAIN. It still has not gone through my insurance and when I called today she said they had a glitch and that she was putting it through insurance today. It just seems like they don't know what their doing at the reception desk, and its frustrating when you know you have an outstanding bill hanging over your head. Update 6/29/16: they didnt bill my insurance until February after calling them multiple times! Luckily I have good insurance and only had to pay $201.95 out of pocket for a $1,500 procedure. Now the kicker is they owe me $98.05 because I paid them $300 the day I got the procedure done but still have not gotten that back.. read more

The place used to provide excellent service, but not any more. Not only they unable to treat the patients in a proper manner, be ready to be overcharged, as people upfront have no idea how to put charges in, get ready to ask for you bill for ages. They will send you a text that you owe smth, but you will never be able to print you a simple bill from the computer. Then later, you will find out that they tried to charge you for cleanings that were paid by insurance, or the thay failed to file a claim properly, and it was not covered by insurance. They are unable to inform you that the Dr you wanted to see is not in the office or move you from your hygienist to another one without even asking if you are OK with it. I will not be going back to this dentist as it was not a great experience. I will try to keep my review to only facts. Service: I had a broken front tooth extracted, an implant put in and a crown put on. Cost: Overall I paid over 7k with insurance. Over 2k out of pocket. How it went: The beginning was as you expected. In April, the front desk got my in relatively quick. I had to take xrays, got my old tooth extracted, had a bone graft and a implant put in. The dentist who did this procedure was Daniel Gianni. The dentist at this practice for the most part don't talk to you much as they move from one patient to the next. I mean the dentist who did my implant didnt even remember doing it as I will explain later. I also didn't appreciate the fact that the dentist started showing other staff at the facility how the procedure was done on me without asking my permission. As you can expect there was some pain after this precedure. I was told I had to wait until roughly September to go back to see how it healed and to get a crown. Which honestly wasnt even explained before the process very well because these dentist dont talk to you much. I had to use my flipper for another few months or have a gap in my smile just a heads up for you if you are getting this done your self. There is no temp for this front tooth. When they lasered off the gums to check the healing cap it looked good but did tell me there would be no pain and that was false. I had trouble eating for a week and when I called I was just told to take advil for the most part. By the way the dentist who did this was Rick Brar. The first implant I received was really bad. You can see the metal and my smile was worse then before. I looked like I had a cavity in my front tooth and even food was getting stuck. I can't believe they let me walk out with it saying my gums should drop in a few weeks. The dentist who did this was Rick Brar. After coming back a month later my gums did not drop and it still looked bad. Rick wanted me to do a skin graft from my inside cheek which I refused and asked them to get a new tooth which at this point they did. I had to walked around a few more weeks with a gap in my smile and even attend a family wedding which I was told my tooth would be ready by then. It wasn't... Finally the day of getting my final croqn which I had to call a few times to see if it was in as I did not receive a call. THIS IS THE WHOLE REASON I WROTE THE REVIEW. Daniel Gianni put in my final crown. It looked good seemed to fit well. It was pretty quick and I was in and out. Later that day this was Thursday. I started to feel pain and it got worse as the day went on. It was sensitive when I was eating. By night I went to bed and woke up from pain and couldn't sleep. I called the dentist and got in arond early afternoon. I explained my issue and Daniel Gianni made me bite on paper to check the alignment of my bite. After about 3 minutes he threw his hands up and said I dont know this is Dr. Brars work and walked out of the room. When in fact i switched from both dentist multiple times. He did the implant and graft as well as the final crown. It was unreal a Dr could leave someone in pain without taking an x ray and want them to wait the weekend in pain. I was very unhappy to say the least. At this point I was walked to the front desk to set up an appointment for next week. I refused and demanded they do something. The front desk then had to take a xray on their own accord and called Rick to look at it. This took about 30-45 minutes to get done. I was then given a prescription for steroids to help the inflammation which ultimately worked. Please stay away from this dentist as it seems their care for patients in pain can wait a weekend. Daniel Gianni should reconsider his future as a dentist after 30 years he seems to not remember his own work he has done and little about his patients being in pain. They will get frustrated and manhandle you when they misplace thei anesthetics and drill on to you without being numb because they don't want to try to place the anesthetics in the correct place. I requested several times (via mail and emails) to review the statements that were sent to me during 2022 - 2023 because of the many errors. The lady, who answered the phone, said they have issues with Billing and helping other customers and they cannot review my bills and she doesn't know how long it will take. I requested to stop sending the incorrect invoices until they will be reviewed and corrected. ProDental/Brar's office cannot stop sending statements or do anything because Corp office does it. Previously, Brar Dentistry or ProDental could correct the invoice when it was requested. I asked the contact info of Corp office and ProDental/Brar's representative refused to provide it. I will never go here again. My last two visits have me questioning the ethics of this staff. It is all about dollars for them. Last visit - the dentist at sleepy hollow location said i needed work on a back molar. I informed her that there was a crown there already. She said no, i was mistaken. Only after she began drilling did she realize she was drilling into a crown Previous visit - I went for a cleaning. Again sleepy hollow. The dentist there said I needed to come back and have an old filling replaced. When i returned he said it was another tooth other side. The only reason i ever went to sleepy hollow was because I got tired of waiting more than an hour past my appointment time every single visit to south elgin. So many other choices out there ... heck, even the one chair dentist i went to in the early 80s was 100 times better than this whole staff combined. Just went this morning to another dentist to fix a failed root canal that was done br Brar. Turns out that he not only filled one of the canals with an inferior plastic but missed one of the canals. My results six months later is an infection. My gut feeling from this pace was bad from the get go. I had a horrible toothache and went with them against my better judgment. I shoulda gone with my gut. They looked at my teeth and pulled me out of the room to an office where they began to go over a treatment process for my whole mouth. What? I was there for a bad toothache! Talk about a bad time for a sales pitch. And don't get me started on Sonya. She cant be any more annoying. Do not use this dentist. read more

Went there forgone other specials, $37 for x-rays and teeth cleaning. At first I thought they were good and the dentist who reviewed my xrays said that I would be needing 4 fillings. I paid the $37 in car with a $50 bill and let the $13 in my account for future work. I went back and was told that I really needed rot have a crown done on one of my tooth instead of 4 fillings, so it wold have been 3 fillings and 1 crown. It would've cost me $1500, which would not be covered by my insurance. I did not appreciate the surprise crown info and left. I went on to another dentist as I did not appreciate the misinformation that was told to me. Then when I asked to get my $13.00 refunded. I was told that that was the cost of the cancer screening that was given to me and therefore wouldn't be getting that refunded. So then if that was the case, why wasn'tI told of that cost at the time of my teeth cleaning as the cancer screenings done at the same time that my cleaning done. It clearly shows only bill that I paid $50 cash for the service and that I had a credit of $13.00! Sonya, Dr. Brar's wife promises discounts if you give good ratings! Dr. Brar did such a bad job on my mouth that for the past year I have been going to a new dentist to make major corrections! He put an implant in my mouth on such an angle that my gum and my cheek grew together. Every time I bit down tears came to my eyes. I not only had to have surgery to cut the skin that grew together, I had to have surgery to take out the permenent post that made my teeth look horrible! My new dentist has been sending him records, x-rays and documents from other dentist showing the mistakes that he made. For the past 2 years he is ignoring these documents. If I could give no stars I would Sonja is a horrible person with no regard for people whatsoever she said that with me paying 10.00a month mailing me a statement wasn't worth it. She said it cost 4.00 to mail a statement?!? They have no billing system set up, they pull stuff out of thin air for diagnoses and told me I have gum disease (which I don't) and just rack up their prices. I paid 200 to get my teeth flossed. I went in with high hopes for this place. They said I needed fillings and possibly a root canal. They were very pushy about getting me in for this root canal. I decided to not have the root canal done. A year later, I went to another dentist amd no root canal needed not even a filing in that physicist tooth. They would have charged me $800. I wish I could give a negative star because I would. This first consultation with Sonia should have made me run out the door and never look back but I was in pain and because of a health issue I have my regular dentist could not get my mouth numb for my root canal so he told me he found this office that does sedation. I net with Sonia first. All she kept asking me for was money. $500 for this and $500 for that. She couldn't give me a breakdown of my procedure "because she wasn't sure what insurance would pay". Stupidly I went through with the procedure the following week giving her cash upfront. The "Anesthesiologist" (actually I found out was an emt who is just studying to be an Anesthesiologist) Attempted to sedate me with 9 different IV attempts all unsuccessful. (Imagine getting 9 IV's in an hour!! Really?) Then he decided to just give me infections in my arms to try to sedate me. After 7! Yes 7! Injections in my arms they began my procedure. (I was still awake mind you and they still wanted to charge my insurance $500 for that) Although Sonia said they wouldn't pay and I would have to pay out of my pocket. I sat in that chair from 10am until 7pm the did 2 root canals 1 filling and an extraction of my wisdom tooth. Leaving there in so much pain but refusing pain meds they gave me antibiotics and a steroid. I woke up in horrible pain and it lasted for days. About a week later I called sonia stating the swelling went down at first but then one night it just came back and was hot to the touch. I'm not a doctor but I know enough to know that means infection! Sonia refused to let me speak to the dentist who did the work but instead told me they would give me another antibiotic. I took the entire course. 2 weeks later I was at the hospital with my son getting his blood work done and he was upset. I was holding him when he pushed his head against my cheek and all of the sudden I felt a huge burst in my mouth! I ran to the bathroom where I spit out PUSS AND BLOOD! Right away I called the office and of course Sonia said I couldn't speak to the dentist who did the work and that it was probably a piece of food stuck in there. No need for another round of antibiotics. At that point I was DONE! I went to the urgent care where I was told I had a fever and that the root canal and extraction site were so badly infected I had to be given a shot of antibiotics and another 2 rounds. Finally a month and 3 days after the procedure the infection was gone but now I had pain in my "root canal". This entire month the only calls I got returned were from Sonia and she only asked me for money every single time!! Oh and the temporary crown they put on fell off after 3 days!!! I called my insurance company to see why the hadn't paid and why she kept asking me for more and more money. Their answer....she never billed them!!! She was trying to get me to pay her cash and then she would bill the insurance after to get paid twice! Needless to say I put a stop to that shit right away and went to another dentist who fixed the shotty work and gave me crowns. My teeth are great now and because I have such amazing dental insurance I only paid $275 out of pocket to the new dentist. Brar Dentistry stole $500 from me and never billed my insurance. Well now they won't get paid at all because I filed a grievance with both medical and dental insurance companies and filed a complaint with the board of dentistry. Please stay clear of this crappy ass dentist office. I truly believe the need to FIRE Sonia. She is not a doctor yet she's allowed to handle serious medical situations without a license. Was nervous after reading reviews, but with a swollen face and wisdom tooth on a Friday night, I drove 40 min to make it there at 8 am on Sat. No one else could get me in! I'm so glad I went. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Sonia was very accommodating. Fees were discussed up front and no surprises. $350 for ct scan and X-ray. So...I had my partially erupted wisdom tooth dangerously close to a nerve, so the procedure was risky, and we decided to treat infection and swelling first with antibiotic. I'm glad they were honest and helped me instead of performing the excision just to make a buck. Feel much better already, and after the thorough exam and consult I have a clear plan of action. I had to choose a star. Iwent here to fix a root canal gone bad and to get my wisdom teeth pulled. Both times I asked to be knocked out cuz I feel sick and feel like I'll pass out and both times they did not do it. I felt and saw everything. I let it go thinking my insurance didn't cover me getting knocked out. I took my now ex bf there and he was nervous Sonia grabbed a pill bottle from behind the desk and told him to take it. He asked multiple times what it was and she refused to tell him. She stood there in front of him and kept telling him to take it. He did only cuz she would not leave and stood in front of him until he took it. She is very rude. The doctors are very rough. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I LOVED the fact that they listened to me, my embarrassment over not having been to the dentist in a long time & my fears. They also knew that I simply couldn't afford to get all the work done at once. They were willing to work with me on the most economical treatment plan I could get, and helped me thru my bundle of nerves too! I wouldn't recommend this dentist or his family to my worst enemy. I'm currently working with a new dentist to fix the two failed root canals Brar did in 2013-2014. He also FORCED me to drive an hour and 10 minutes to Skokie to have a crown painted... convinced me that was normal instead of having someone come to the office. This was after he spilled hot molten material on my neck during a procedure with zero reduction to my bill. Not to mention that another dentist working for him was terribly rough on me while removing wisdom teeth while rushing to go to a BBQ. I learned this because he took a phone call on his cellphone mid procedure and suddenly a 45mins procedure was only going to take 20 minutes. He was so rough that I was shaking from the trauma afterwards. No regards to pain or empathy. Oh, his wife Sonya signed me up for care credit without consent or knowledge. When she asked if I wanted it I said I wasn't sure and rather do payments. She apparently went ahead and did it anyways for a portion of the payment which i have since found out is illegal. In 2015 I received paperwork from a creditor saying I owed them money and now late payments because of this care credit. Brar never contacted me back when I asked for proof that I consented to care credit. I'm finally leaving a review and noticing that I'm not the only one who received beyond dismal treatment from this dentist. After my new dentist informed me of the terribly done root canals I will now consider legal action against them. read more

Went there for my fiancé to get teeth implants. First off it's so expensive all they care about is the money. He got the implants and the teeth kept cracking. The teeth are still not right after over a year. Dr. Brar's wife was not nice to us. She runs the show he doesn't know what he's doing. The hygienist helped my fiancée more then the Dr. The hygienist were telling him what to do. Not a good dentist. The wife is pretty mean. Dr. Bears wife put us on a loan which was less then half of what she got us for. Then we got told by the drs. wife we had to pay more. She waited to long to get us on the same loan we were on it expired and we were told by the loan company we can't get anymore money from them. So it was Dr. Brar's wife's fault. Now we are stuck with 3 loans cause of her. They are in it for the money. Sorry we ever went there. Whatever you do don't go there. They are only in it for the money. I had called the day before to get in to repair a crown of mine that had cracked from a previous dentist .. they did get me in right away ...they had Dr. Brar start the procedure .... I was told to wait for the crown it would be just 1 hour and to leave and run errands .. but before I left they demanded payment Incase I didn't come back .. (even thou I had an exposed tooth) ok fine so I paid ... came back 1 hour later and they said the Crown had chipped ! So after waiting another 2 hours.. another dentist took care of me he never introduced himself! You could clearly sense by his lack of introduction ,shortness ,and bad attitude he was angry he had to work on me .. not sure where the first dentist went ... he was so rough my mouth and tooth still hurt 4 days later .. he asked me if the crown felt right I said no it's to high ( after 5 times of filing it ) .. he huffed puffed and filed it so roughly .... asked me again and I said it still seems off .. he got up left and never came back ! Back to that Brar office several times and told you need root canals. Then I got the bill... They have several locations, but the new one on Randall isn't listed with insurance and Sonya outright refused to work with insurance. Dr Adams is full of himself about how ge went to Emirates to work on shiek or something- full of himself. Billing was way over priced from what Sonia ' guestimated' the cost would be. I ended up at a much better place where 2 root canals were done, with current Drs not believing the level of infection and stuff that came erupting out..... Got a bill and they insisted on the additional $600. They Denied ever quoting the lower price. Today I went in for an emergency appointment. Never felt so uncomfortable. Didn't even take x-rays just tying to sell me something I could not afford. Then when I did not want to go with what they were trying to sell me, I was treated like a piece of poop. No meds no taking care of the bone sticking out no nothing. So I pay $70 for nothing. This started in 2012: Dr Brar is a rip-off artist - overcharged me for two crowns which I had to - conveniently - finance with them for 2 years. My new dentist was absolutely amazed that Brar had put a crown on my last molar, as there wasn't a tooth below it to engage. The second crown fell off. That tooth was so decayed under the crown that it had to be pulled, oh and guess what? The chronic pain in that tooth stopped. 3 years ago I requested antibiotics because it felt inflamed and they refused to prescribe any because there was "NO REASON". I have a dentist now. Anyone that knows me knows that I - like many people, have avoided going to the dentist because of my fear about, well, everything at the dentist. I was kind of forced to go recently because I literally broke one of my teeth. I chose them because they offered sedation and -- let's just say, I am so glad that I went. Because I haven't been to the dentist in so long I needed a lot of restorative work. Is it expensive? Yes. But I don't know any dental work....and I've been to enough dentists in the past to know that they all charge about the same. And really-- do you want to lowball it when you are talking about your health? Really-- when people have tooth or gum problems you hear them being in agony-- if saving a few hundred bucks or even several thousand would put me in that place in the future, no thank you. Suffice it to say, I am very happy with Brar dentistry. The people there are used to dealing with freaks like me that are terrified of everything. They do numbing WELL. They explain everything and make flexible payment arrangements. I had 4 root canals, a deep cleaning, a tooth fixed and several fillings in the course of one month....yea, not my wildest dreams but.....I did not have pain during the procedures (here's a hint-- bring your headphones/ipod- makes a world of difference to tune out the noises!!) and only what I'd call discomfort after the procedures-- nothing Advil wouldn't help. When I did my consultation with them, they told me how good my insurance was, that I only had to pay a small portion of my deep cleaning, when I got the bill they told me that I owed them $1000.00!! "that my insurance sucks and it did not cover anything" that's what told me!! Now I'm stuck with the bill and if only their front desk "Sofi and Sonia" would have done their job and run my insurance to make sure what I would be cover, I would never have agreed to the procedure if I had to pay that much amount. I would avoid this place. They charge insurance for things that they don't do. I was told head scan was on the house because I was getting several different procedures done it wasn't I got billed and my insurance did too. Day of implants surgery they only had one of the implants and nobody thought to check this before they tore my mouth apart !!!! Sitting there in pain while staff runs around trying to find something to put in my mouth so they could just charge me for it. I was lied to about the state of my teeth. They wanted to drill 6 out for no reason. I can understand 1 or 2, but 6 is outrageous. I have since been to 2 other practices who both have confirmed that everything is fine. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they are very friendly. I went to Brar dental to have my remaining teeth removed and to get dentures which they guaranteed to fit 100% well needless to say they didn't even come close to that, after my complaints on the poor fitting dentures I was told I had to get implants to rectify the situation and unless I did there was not much more they could do for me, in my opinion brar dental is all a money grab, they see u as a dollar sign and not as a person, they really care little about your discomfort or anything during the procedures,am seeing a different dentist now and he is doing his best to fix all their mistakes but it is still costing me additional money that I shouldn't have to be paying had brar dental done their job right in the first place! read more

DON'T Go to this dentist!!!! Horrible work. Root Canal and Crown took 5 FIVE VISITS at three locations!!! Overpriced work and I am still in pain a year later. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Beware of billing practices!!! read more

I was very pleased when I called and get an appointment the next day. When I arrived the atmosphere was very calming and inviting and, the receptionist at the front desk were very pleasant they talked with me as if they knew me. I was satisfied with my experience at this office. I think the prices are a little high, but they are willing to work with you which is good. read more

I'm not even sure where to begin. Dr. Brar is ok. The problem stems form the desk. Sonya in particular. She is very pushy and dismissive. I was over charged for a couple of root canals. My insurance covered 3k and I was still on the hook for over 1,700 dollars. I will never go back there again. read more

Get a second opinion before he ruins your teeth forever! I was leaving to move to California and my dentist of my whole life retired. I came to brair dentistry letting them know I'd like a cleaning and make sure everything is good for my move. He took advantage of my situation told me I had 15 cavities and that he likes to "aggressively" take care of them and other dentists don't. I wish I got a second opinion as the X-rays didn't show any and he assures they were between the teeth. As I was only 20 at the time, and trusted a doctor. He had me come in and drilled all 15 at once. Painful and horrible hours of drilling. My fillings are all jagged. My poor teeth are barely there anymore and I needed an emergency root canal as soon as I got to California. He used me and my teeth will never be the same again. I went in on a bad tooth ache and no insurance. They got me in the same day I called, understood I'm a nervous patient. They were all very kind and gentle and even did the best they could on my cash payment. Will be going back for more work. read more
