Update on my review from October 2024. As noted in the review PES replaced one of my furnace units and also installed w replacement AC systems. As noted in my original review ( I wish reviews allowed editing) the install was done professionally, the crew worked neatly, and it passed inspection no problem. This winter the new furnace operated with no issues. With this year's early heat waves the new units have been put to the test and then some. The unit that cools the upstairs portion of the house, that always struggled with our old unit, was sized perfectly and it has kept the temperature even when we hit close to 100 degrees. The other unit has worked perfectly as well, keeping the rest of the house comfortable without straining. Very pleased, to say the least. read more

Extremely disappointed, as they were recommended by someone I know. The technician (very nice and professional) came to check the AC system, and from there, I had to call the office for a diagnostics report, and all I got was an invoice telling me payment is due, and they are not doing anything else since my system is covered under insurance (instructed by the owner). The office staff was extremely unprofessional, and when I asked her for a diagnostic report, all she did was write an email--nothing else. I waited today for the tech to show up (Air Conditioning system tune up). No one showed. I called and they said they canceled my appointment because I didn't confirm the re-schedule. They installed a new HVAC system in my condo in Feb 2018. I have maintained a service contract with them ever since A leak was recently detected in my system. The evapotato coil needs to be be replacef. Guess what? My warranty expired in Feb 2023 because the Pro Energy company never registered my unit with Rheem which would extend the warranty to 10 years ! I got a nice estimate for Mr. John Boyle Jr. for 6K. I emailed him twice to discuss it because I was told by his service man that this was covered under warranty apparantly not. I never heard back from John Boyle Jr. until yesterday when I called the company to cancel to renewal on my upcoming service contract Since I will no longer be using there services. read more

Had a bait and switch experience from last November (2023), I agreed to go with PES because the sales rep and included that I would be getting $1K back in rebates to install a new furnace and A/C. Installation went fairly smooth, I even bought the workers lunch because of the length of the job, but they skipped some things and had to come back when inspection failed. After installation, I had several questions about the products that the sales rep did reply to and helped ease my mind, but in hindsight, not sure that's the case (biggest concern: installed one product when quoted on another, but was told they were the exact same with just a different decal). Shortly thereafter the rebate paperwork was submitted and I heard nothing back until I called in January. When I called to ask about the status, I was told that it wasn't going to be $1K, but more like $400 and that it was in process. Again, nothing further until I reach out in March, when I was informed that the rebates had been approved. Again, nothing further until May when I called and a manager, John, actually called me back (first time PES made any contact effort). He said there was a glitch in the system and that he had released my rebates and a check would be on it's way...oh, and that it's not $400, but only $310. Yet again, no check received and nothing further from them until I reached back out at the end of June, the sales rep told me that a manager would be calling me back that day or the next. Guess what, never heard from them, called back again a couple of weeks later and was again told it was being escalated to a manager and provided me with the manager's, John Boyle, email address which I sent an email to. To date, 10 months after the installation, there has been no further contact made by PES, no check, and I'm not sure I can even trust the install job because of all of this and the fact that my initial concerns were so very easily dismissed. They installed five outdoor wall sconces on our back side and was able to do so without opening the Sheetrock on the inside. I decided to hire them because they were available to do the job right away so I do not need to wait three weeks like other electricians. They were friendly and professional. Two years ago my AC died and needed a new furnace. In that process I was made aware a New Jersey state program that paid for improved insulation in my house and provided favorable financing for higher efficiency equipment. Pro Energy did the insulation, their workers and workmanship was very good. I can also say that after the two years I notice a nice even temperature throughout the house and lower heating and AC bills. read more

Worst experience ever! I was told central AC installation would only take 2 days. Workers were here for 4 full days. 2 months later I'm still waiting for it to be completed! Plastering and sanding still need to be addressed and defective grill on outside unit still not replaced. I was told I did not have to remove items from attic, yet everything that was up there was tossed to the opposite end of the house, and some boxes were crushed. I found 3 cigarette butts in the attic after the installers left! Outside unit grill is defective, started rusting after the first rain storm. Still waiting for it to be replaced even though I called office numerous times. I was told Home Depot would get the proper permits only to find out after I contacted the town, was told permits were never gotten! Wires were cut in a wall thermostat and I had no heat they needed to send another team out to fix it. Had to call numerous times to get owners manuals for unit. JB NEVER returned my numerous phone calls. House was not left in the condition I was told it would be. Plaster dust was found on top of dining room hutch along with large pieces of plaster cut from ceiling. And finally, I was told I would have two years to pay for unit, but my Home Depot statement says I only have 6 months to pay it off interest free. read more

I got a quote for a new ac condenser and coil for $5500.00 on 5/6, called the sales rep Greg Roth today on 5/27...to let him know I will be moving forward with the project and wanted to leave a deposit to start it but he said they could not honor the quote because the original quote was given to me to "fill in a day" of work and now to do the work it would be $6339.30...$839.90 higher for no reason. I would give 5 stars but, communication trying to get a start date after payment wasn't handled well. I am happy I stayed with them, thanks to project manager Vincent Giordano. He was polite and and kept communications open. The install crew were polite and professional. They let me know when they finished and showed me the completed job, and answered all questions I had. When they left, the job area was cleaned and left my house the way it was. Overall, a great job guys. I would recommend Pro Energy. My mother's boiler broke and a Rep from the company came to the house on a Monday and stated that they would be able to install a new boiler on Wednesday or Thursday the earliest. So for more then 4 days, she has been living in her home with out heat or hot water. Today is Thursday.. so I called to confirm they were coming for the install and I was told that they have been trying to get an emergency authorization from the town of Fishkill for 4 days. I called the town of Fishkill and got the authorization in 2 hours. Now I try to speak to the Manager John but he is not taking my call. My mother is still living with no heat or hot water!!!!! But they took my money the same day they came for an assessment!!!! I would NEVER deal with these people again. read more

If I can give one last advice - PICK ANOTHER COMPANY!!! save yourself the headaches. Well truthfully I would think twice maybe 3 times before hiring this company to do any type of work in your house. While it was not their fault that the product was faulty from factory. Every problem and interaction I have personally had with them has been horrible. (Heater is not keeping the water hot. If the temperatures are luke warm that is great) To start things off my heater was broken from the very beginning. We called twice within the first 3 month of it being installed & all they did was increase the heat to unsafe temperatures and basically tell us we had to deal with it. (Which we did for about 2 years) fast forward to now the problem has just grown exponentially. We contacted them had to pay a service fee for them to come and tell us that there were parts that were malfunctioning from the beginning. They needed to reach out to the HTP company manufacturer. They had supposedly been in contact with the manufacturer (calling them endlessly and sending emails left and right) whom we recently found out had shipped out all 4 parts that were broken but miraculously the parts kept on getting "lost" or not shipped or on back order - all excuses we have heard from proair. They tell us that they have spend tons of money and time trying to fix and repair our issue. When they haven't. Formally confirmed that they (PROENERGY) have just been feeding us lies. Both Billy & John whom they claim are great mechanics (maybe true maybe false - make your own opinions based on actions) Have done nothing but lie and give us the run around. They have had the go ahead to exchange the whole unit - which they chose not to do because they would not be getting reimbursed for that job - Per John. I called about 10 HVAC companies. 3 called me back, and said they were "booked for 4-6 weeks." The reason I was calling was because our Central air died. Finally, via Home Depot, I was connected to Pro Energy Solutions. Mike got here within a day to estimate the job. He gave me 4 options varying with price. I went with the whole enchilada as our oil burner was as old as the hills as was our AC. In 1 week, they came and and did a FABULOUS JOB! Totally professional, timely, clean, courteous and friendly! The price was also incredibly reasonable! They saved our dogs and us from the wicked heat in NJ! I have ZERO complaints and a hundred reasons why I'd recommend them! BEWARE OF this Company, they had a man come over telling me that I needed a new unit, I believed him and was ready to Shell out $7,400. My daughter being incredulous sent a man over the same day, who with a flick of switch turned on my heat. I cannot tell you the bs. this man filled me with. I am an elderly woman and still having a problem with this firm trying to cancel my order, although I called them the same night to cancel. It wasn't enough to be fooled and lied to, now I can't seem to get them to cancel my order with Home Depot. read more

BUYER BEWARE. Unlike other reviews here, my experience with Pro Energy was frustrating and disappointing to say the least. I chose them among 2 other competitive bidders (as I typically do for any of my home projects) and relied on Angi's sponsorship and reviews on a number of reliable sites. To my dismay, management did not live up to my expectations in terms of customer service and satisfaction in the overall experience with my AC unit replacement project. To sum up, it ended up being a 2-month delay to finally install a working unit. Their crew/tech failed to ensure that all parts were in the box prior to attempting the install so nothing was accomplished the first time around; upon return, their crew failed to test and ensure the unit was in working order and left my tenant with a defective unit in the midst of high summer (they were aware that a very young infant resides in that home); their crew failed to show up for a confirmed appointment without even the courtesy of a call to cancel or reschedule costing my tenant a day's lost wages; more delay in returning to replace the faulty unit; all of this costing my tenant and I, significant related out of pocket expenses. I was more than patient and understanding and management chose to simply place blame solely on the supplier. I firmly disagreed with their position as the supplier cannot be blamed for their shortcomings, poor quality of service and unreliability on the part of their crew. I gave management an opportunity to extend a reasonable courtesy (discount off the total cost) under the circumstances but management refused to go above and beyond to maintain the business relationship - one that would have led to future referrals. I paid for the project in full upfront and expected that they would handle the situation differently. It was disappointing that adequate consideration was not given even a thought. All they wanted to do was sell me a new heater instead of fixing the existing one. They had me believing we needed a new heater until we get a second opinion from an honest repairman. Do not use this company. I had two operating old heating units. I set up an appointment to discuss getting a new AC unit for the first floor. The salesman came to my home and looked at my furnaces and said that he could install two new AC units without a problem. What a nightmare. He lead me to believe that compatibility would be a non issue. In short the air conditioners do not cool my home. The destroyed my heating units. Upstairs I ended up needing a new board and the mixed up the wiring to get the ac to operate. The downstairs unit humidifier was disconnected and not reconnected. They changed the coil and god knows what else. They came to my home on 5 occasions and each time provided useless analysis. They then brought a agent from the manufacturer who said that I needed 2 new units to have th ac condensers cool as they should. So I and my wife paid another company to repair the damage that this company instilled on us. Now the sales says that we needed new heating units. He did not say that when we paid him $10,000.00. As often happens there was a space problem in my attic - the installers figured out a solution and together with Pro Energy's electrical team installed our system which works perfectly. The Sales Rep came to the house one day after I called, explained the whole process and gave me a solid estimate on the spot. He was also available by phone during the installation. Pro Energy Solutions' entire team worked very hard to get this done on time, on budget and made every effort to answer questions and gave us a superb job.
