We used this company to assess whether a home they previously restored due to water damage had mold. Instead of looking behind the walls, they suggested and conducted an air quality test, which came back negative, even though they knew they should've tested behind the walls. A few days later, we purchased the home and looked behind the walls; we found mold. It was not worth the high expense. I do not recommend this company. read more

We had an unknown leak in our downstairs guest quarters and for an unknown length of time. We only found it when the floor gave way. Our insurance adjuster gave us a list of companies to pick from. We chose Pro Environmental because they were local and had good reviews. We couldn't have chosen a better company to work with. We were worried about coordinating between them, a carpenter, plumber and painter. When Butch came, our worries were over. He told us that they would take care of everything, and they did. Memorial Day was coming up and we had family coming in but Butch assured us that it would be ready when they arrived. True to his word, it was ready for our company. Once the repair was finished, we were unable to tell that we had ever had a leak. I only have high praise for the crew that did the work. They did an excellent job of the repair including matching the paint which was a custom color and of making sure everything was as good as the original. I also have high praise for the crew that did the cleanup after construction. Everything (decorations, lamps and accessories) were cleaned and placed back in the position that we had them. The quotes we were given were fair and easy to understand. The total for the repairs were actually less than we had expected. We were totally satisfied with the cost and the work performed. Butch and Liz were excellent and a pleasure to work with. Both were very helpful throughout our repair. We are very glad that we chose Pro Environmental for our repairs. We very strongly recommend them for any problem that you may have. read more

We had a mold problem develop over the past year or so from poor attic ventilation and air leaks in our wooden ceiling. Our contractor, Tim Avery, gave me Pro Environmental Services as a company who had done good work on a job he had been working. He had Butch call me and set up an inspection. He was prompt and inspected and said we didn't have the worse kind of mold, but it was getting worse and needed to be remediated. He recommended improving the attic ventilation, which was way below what was needed. For those that install an aluminum roof, it reduces attic temperature by 15 degrees, exacerbating the problem. Also, make sure the ridge vent is venting- the guys who put my aluminum on cut the roof for the air to vent but did not install the proper ridge cap, so no adequate circulation. No luck on an insurance claim either. I received the quote, was satisfied and got a schedule to do the work from Liz. Two employees arrived promptly before 8:30 AM, and introduced themselves- John and Devin. They explained what they were about to do and assured us we didn't have to worry about any damage from the cleaning process. Then, they got to work and checked every detail of our home looking for fungus and mold. They hand cleaned, and it was tedious; we have tongue and groove pine panels with lots of gaps for the attic air to intrude in the cooled interior, which causes the growth inside, but not in the attic. Vents were removed and gaps sealed, the attic stairs opening was sealed and other points of air leaks were caulked. The mold and staining disappeared, thankfully. They also brought in a HEPA filter system to run and catch mold spores. Closets were cleaned eliminating more mold. To sum this up, these two young men were exemplary employees for this company. They cared about what they were doing and had great customer service skills in addition. I don't think you can go wrong with Pro Environmental Service. Well done! read more

I purchase a dehumidifier in the Spring of 2022 from Pro Environmental Services. When the person came to install the product, I asked him some questions concerning the dehumidifier and inquired on how soon should I have the system inspected, he recommended to have the system check out within a year to make sure everything was working correctly. In the Spring of 2023, I called Pro Environmental to make an appointment for an inspection; the person who answered the phone told me that someone would call me back within the week to let me know what time they would be there. Over a month later, no one has return my call for an service inspection. So, I called a second time and precisely let the person know what happen early concerning the overlook appointment. Once more, she stated that someone would call me back within the week to make an appointment for the inspection; yet again over 30 days later, there has been no response to my request for service. read more

Don't pay them till all the work is completed. It took Pro Environmental 7 months to fulfill our contract. Numerous phone calls and emails weren't returned. It got to the point that when I called, Lettie would send my call directly to voice mail. The last time we spoke on the phone, she hung up on me. For those reading this complaint and think that I am a competitor leaving a bad review or some other non-sense, go to Eastern NC BBB and you will see the complaint dated March 5, 2012. Had it not been for the BBB, I would have never gotten closure. However, I don't understand why they still rate them a A-. It should be disappointing for the guys in the field who do good quality honorable work, to have office personnel who don't give a lick about their customer service. read more

Just moved here and got hit by the Irene. Working with so-called contractors and suppliers (carpet) for over a month has been a nightmare--broken promises, never show up or not on time, enough to make me move anywhere away from here! Randy to the rescue--on-time, professional, intelligent explanations, and efficient work--made me feel I was back in the real world. Amen!
