T & D Heating and Cooling wired and serviced a brand new Mitsubishi mini-split system and branch…read morebox. I was forced to call them several times because the lines kept freezing up (see attached photo) it would not cool and the system would display a fault code. Despite my efforts explaining these problems, Thomas Holley (owner) & Graeme Chipperfield (tech) kept telling me there was nothing wrong... yet the system would never operate correctly. So I called Jacksonville Heating Contractors, several things were found wrong that T&D did; (1) the refrigerant was serviced wrong, (2) they did not pull the contamination out of the system and (3) the system was addressed wrong (see description on attached invoice). Several minutes after the Jacksonville tech left, the fault code came back. I called the tech and explained what was happening. He asked me to check the wiring at the branch box to see if the indoor units A & B were crossed. When I checked, (4) they were in fact crossed... I re-wired them and the the fault code disappeared. After all these corrections were made, the system has been operating without any problems, no line freezing, it cools/heats and no fault codes. I contacted T&D owners Thomas & Denise Holley several times asking for a "partial refund" from the $808.00 I paid them for the work they did wrong. I provided them with documentation from Jacksonville Heating Contractors and information from Mitsubishi Tech Support that identifies what they did was incorrect. But they refuse to even talk with me about this and take responsibility for the work they performed. T&D has shown no business ethics and the owners have no integrity to make this right. Beware!

Highly recommend to anyone in the Onslow area, reasonably priced, and fantastic service.

I would avoid this company at all costs. I had to replace all of my units in less than three years…read more They have only one service tech. Every single service call has created additional issues. Have had the same 3rd floor system fail for three straight summers. They have cost me thousands in rental refunds. I used them when I built my house new in 2018 and it's been nothing but constant problems. They are very nice and often apologitic and I have blindly stuck with them. It was a huge mistake. There are other better options.

I'm a hard grader. I only give out 5 stares if I feel like an employee went above and beyond…read more What a relief! We had a problem with our Trane HVAC system. Ricky from Swansboro Heating & Air came and started figuring things out. On his first visit, he found a tiny leak in one of the freon copper lines. He patched it up, refilled it with freon, and thought the system was fixed. But he didn't think it was completely done. Before he left, he asked to be called when the HVAC started blowing heat again. Two weeks went by, and the HVAC system switched to heat on its own and started blowing heat. I called Ricky and left a voicemail. He called back within two minutes and asked me to check a few things on the system. I wasn't expecting what was coming next. He said, I'm on a service call. I'll be there once I finish up here. Yep, true to his word! He was troubleshooting the system within an hour. Talk about customer service! You don't get service like this at any of the corporations. Now Ricky was able to narrow it down to one part. An expensive part. Ricky looked up my serial number, and the part was covered by the factory warranty. Today, July 8, 2026, the part was installed. Tip my hat to Swansboro Heating and Air, serviceman: Ricky. We can't forget Trane HVAC systems for the great warranty and products they produce.

Carteret Heating & Cooling - This is what was left of the power supply. It obviously was on fire. I'm glad it wasn't worse.

After speaking with April, she had a service tech at our home that very afternoon to diagnose the problem. Despite a faulty motor, Caleb was able to get our unit up and running as they waited for the replacement part - we never went without air conditioning as the temps soared into the 90s. --When the repair part arrived the following week, Crystal called to alert us and immediately sent a service tech out to swap out the bad motor. Ian had the new motor installed in less than 30 minutes and offered up some suggestions for maximizing our HVAC system. All of the diagnostic and repair pricing was shared up front and payments were easily made over the phone. --They've earned a customer for life.

I can't tell you how their work was because they never showed up to fix the AC…read more Our service was for our AC and it was submitted as urgent. On Saturday. This company never called even once. Instead they texted but not until after 7pm in the evening so at that time my husband and I finished dinner and were getting ready for bed. He sent a total of w texts 2 texts to both my husband and self all past 7pm and once after 8pm. We requested he call during the day (you know- the professional thing to do). He did not. Then via 1 of the late texts he agreed to come yesterday (Wednesday) bw 12-2pm. He didn't show up or call. If I had hired a real professional company that knows how to operate a phone, behaves like professionals and shows up when they say i would not have had to go a week wo AC. I wouldn't recommend calling them they neither answered the phone or picked up the phone to call.

He then "ordered" a new motor and shroud and charged me ($900+) as agreed. It is December 8th 2024 as I write this and I still do not have the new blower motor and shroud. I still have the used components installed on my air-handler. I have contacted him numerous times, he has responded with various excuses and even admitted to "having forgotten about us.", and recently has said he was in a car accident and would see about getting someone out to install. (That was over a month ago). I think I have been more than patient with this guy, I try to give small business owners the benefit of the doubt and prefer to use them if possible. Lesson learned though. Advice to new customers... go ahead and pay the bigger company. You will save money and time. We will have to go the legal route to get our product or refund...sad, but the world is full of dishonest folks trying to get your $. I don't think running a business is Kevin's primary concern.
