Eli has been in the business 8 years and works on Sunday at his regular billing rate. My drive belt broke on a Lift Master opener. The unit was one of their best made, the Professional I model. It's weakness is it is a belt drive and after 17 years it was time for a service. Eli recommended a new rail in addition to the belt which includes all new related parts given the units age. This turned out to be an excellent recommendation because there was a hidden broken adjuster. The motor is guaranteed for life and runs as if it was new. The job was finished in a little over an hour with balancing, tune up and lubrication at 1/2 the cost of a new unit. It is difficult to find qualified contractors in the Ventura County area. Called for service on a property I listed and someone name David came out. I was happy b they were very responsive however what would follow made me think twice. I have a deposit for work to be completed and the guy kept telling me I had to have cash on the day of repair. I felt a little weird an out the deposit and the cash request but said ok. I canceled the appointment only to reschedule and I could not get a hold of anyone for over a week. The buyers agent called several times. The new buyers called to confirm and they kept getting hung up on. I finally text the number and received no response until a response and even then I never received a phone call. Fast forward, I called another company who was reputable in my opinion and very satisfied and happy with the other company. This company and its representative are VERY unprofessional and I would. It recommend them at all! I also requested my deposit back from Zelle twice and as of today still no money back or a phone call. Terrible! read more

Beware of Ben from pro garage door and gate. He scammed us when he came out and said he needed to "replace the limit switch assembly" for $800. All he did was adjust the gate limits with a screwdriver and wrench but he lied about what he did and said he needed to replace parts which he never did. I have replaced the motherboard on the gate system and worked on it myself for years, I opened up the motor to see no replaced parts, just the old rusty ones. My garage door wouldn't shut properly due to one of the cables getting tangled. I loosened the cable so that I could at least close the garage door, but the door was unbalanced, closing unevenly, and bending one of the tracks. So I went on Yelp to see who was the closest to my house - Pro Garage Door was not only the closest but they addressed my problem in a couple hours. I called Pro Garage Door around 5PM, and David was with another customer so he told me he would probably reach out to me and be at my place by 7PM. He kept his word, called me back, and arrived promptly. He inspected the garage door to see what the problem was, explained what he would need to do to fix it, and gave me a quote around $300. He completed the job in about 30 minutes: replacing one of the damaged cables, unbending/fixing the bent track/parts, and calibrating the door so that it was balanced and opening/closing very smoothly. The door feels lighter after the fix since it was well-caliberated. Not only was his workmanship quick and fabulous, his service was spectacular. He was kind and made sure that I was satisfied with the completed project. I highly recommend Pro Garage because they responded quickly, promptly, and gave an amazing service! read more

Buyer BEWARE!! Shame on me for listening to the "expert" who suggested I purchase a new motor to my electric gate that was working just fine for the last 15 years! The original fix was overpriced and unnecessary parts were installed, but I paid the bill anyhow. The new motor that I was hoodwinked into buying (which isn't even 4 months old) is not compatible to my electric gate and already has a broken part. I was NEVER told that the new motor was not compatible with my original gate. So now my electric gate is no longer an electric gate! It is a manual gate with a motor that doesn't work! After countless attempts via phone calls and texts to get someone to either fix their wrongdoing or give me my money back I'm forced to write this review because their corporate office (whom I was referred to by the tech) has yet to call me back. The tech did offer me an insulting solution which was unacceptable due to the fact that I would have to pour more money into their pockets to fix the mess they've created for me. If you want to be put in the club like I was than maybe this is the company for you! But learn from my $2,000 mistake and stay away from Pro Garage Door & Gate, their lack of customer service and honest business practice isn't worth it! read more

Needed a technician to come out ASAP as my power was out all day, it was over 90 degrees out and I needed to leave but my garage door wouldn't close. David came within an hour. Ben promptly came on time and assessed the situation quickly and gave us a reasonable quote for the repairs. When I called the business the guy on the phone was talking to a group of people and never said hello and hung up on me after i waited for him to finish and he did not even give me to say "hello?" I called back a second time and talked to him only to have him tell me he couldn't hear me very well and hung up. Called a 3rd time and he set up an apt with me and said i'd be called 20 mins before. An hour and a half after the promised time I called and he said that it was just a rough time and the individual would call me as soon as he was available. Got a call from the individual saying 40 minutes and he arrived on time and was nice and helped me draw a plan with a very unique request for the fence and said i would get an email about a price in a few hours. A wonderful trustworthy company/owner and a perfect install of my garage opener! So, I just had quite an amazing small-business experience with Pro Garage Door & Gate and its owner, Ben Ezra. A couple weeks ago, his company had advertised a $45 special to perform general maintenance to one's garage door system - i.e. grease the track, check the tension of the door, tighten stuff, that sort of thing. Well, because I have such an old (and squeaky) garage opener (probably a 20-year-old Genie motor) I decided to call the company for this service. Ben came out very quickly that same day and serviced my garage door track and gave the system a touch more tension and got it running quieter. After that quick good service, we parted ways. The very next day however, after using the garage door maybe a half dozen times, the garage motor struggled to operate, the gears turning for a few seconds and then stopping altogether. It sounded bad. So, I called Ben and he came over very quickly, assessed the situation and told me he didn't know why it had stopped working as he hadn't touched the motor the day before when he serviced the system for that $45. Well, you can imagine my suspicions - here I had just got my garage door serviced about 24 hours earlier from this company, I had never had a problem with this motor before and now it's stopped working...? It seemed like a weird (all too weird) coincidence. But here's the thing that is so incredible about Ben and his company and which put my suspicions at ease: He completely agreed how freaky and weird the timing of this all was and he felt awful. And even though this strange coincidence happening (of Ben having serviced the track and the next day the opener's motor craps out), Ben felt it important for me to feel comfortable that his young company is an honest one. So he suggested I purchase an inexpensive but reliable opener from Home Depot (thereby earning absolutely no money off the purchase of this new garage door opener) and then he came the next day to install it in my garage...for absolutely no charge. 100% free install. Ben spent over an hour this morning installing the new system, got it operational and running great, we shook hands and he went on his way. I did not need to give this gentlemen more than the $45 from the original service to the old system days earlier (but forced a few bucks into his hand for lunch or whatever). He just wanted to make sure I knew he was on the up and up and he doesn't want his company to have a bad name. I couldn't believe it. So what originally felt like it could be a sketchy situation turned out to be actually a wonderful experience, dealing with a real professional who runs a real trust-worthy, independent business. It restored my hope in small business...and if I may, humanity a little bit. I encourage any of you in search of garage door repair or installation that you consider using this top shelf company.
