After one good, no-complaints experience with this company I returned to their services, but in a post-pandemic world it feels like many of these companies no longer have tried-and-true employees and are sub-contracting their work out to randoms, which results in sloppy work and/or poor customer service, which was my experience during the second time I hired their services. MY EXPERIENCE: Called the phone number, was a bit hard to understand the person handling phone calls and scheduling, was told he'd call a technician to call me and make an appointment. Fine. Tech (Benjamin?) called and said he could come next day. I was out of the house at appointment time (but my boyfriend was home) when the tech calls my cell to say he's at my house. Uhh, ok. Not sure why he didn't go to front door. I told him I'd let my boyfriend know and have him come outside... then I TEXT the tech and tell him if my boyfriend isn't out in a couple minutes to go knock on the front door. 10-15min later I get another phone call from the somewhat annoyed tech saying my boyfriend never came out. "Uhh, did you go knock on the front door?" His reply, "No." Now I'm annoyed cuz I'm out of the house, busy, juggling his phone calls and this seems like common sense. GOOD NEWS: Ultimately he was able to fix our ONE garage door by replacing some censors, for around $200. BAD NEWS: A couple hours after the tech left we go to use our OTHER (previously working) garage door and it doesn't work. Weird. The tech hadn't even done work on this other garage door. So, I call the company to tell them our other door isn't working after technician's visit, and he says he'll have the original technician call me. Tech calls me and tells me to "Just jiggle the censors around. You can be rough with them. You have to move them into a spot where they align." I try this, but they aren't very movable and flexible as they are MOUNTED onto brackets. At one point he says, "You might need to use some electrical tape to make them stay in the spot where they're aligned." What? I'm being told by a professional to jury rig my own garage door censors with tape so they properly align??? After this phone call doesn't fix my garage door I call the company AGAIN and tell them that I need them to send someone out to fix the newly not-working garage door. Answering guy says he'll call the technician to schedule an appointment......... and I never got a call back. I thought about calling them again, since this was their problem to solve, but I can't in good faith call a company three times and coax them into doing their job. Genesis is the ugly company in garage door The Los Angeles branch of this company sent a saleman to quote for a new garage door. We had an up and over door, which was used everyday and occasionally used to stick but with a gentle push down up would open perfectly. The salesman asked see the existing door and we went inside the garage to take measurements, he asked me to open the door. I did so as normal, the door stuck on this occasion and before I was able to stop him the salesman put his back under the partially open door had lifted it up releaseing the cables off its cones and jamming the door open. Between us we managed to get the door closed and secure. The salesman then phoned his office and told me someone would be back to repair the door the following morning. He apologised, gave me the quote some £300.00 higher than any other company had quoted. I had to ring the company the following morning to establish what time the fitters were coming to repair the door. The manager said they would be with me on Friday. I demanded that they be here today Wednesday, by midday and he replied they would phone half hour before they were due to arrive. With no phone call received, two so called fitters arrived midday to make the repair. Sadly I had no hitching rail for them to tie up their horses! These guys attempted to repair the door by releasing the tension spring, unscrew any thing they could which resulted in a tremendous bang and the door practically coming off it guides. They said "we don't do these doors much so we don't know what is wrong. The company will have to get intouch and do you a deal"! I have written to the Company giving them 14 days to respond but after hearing nothing for a week. I had to get some one else in to repair the door, due to the impending snowy weather so that we could get my wife's car in the garage as usual. The phone call came 10 days after they received the letter, offering to call and attempt another repair 20 days after the salesman broke it. Seriously do you want this company on you door step? I have heard of other complaints from people and only wish I he heard about them before getting them to call. Customer service they have never heard of it. I am extremely satisfied with every single moment my family shared with Bejermin and Ralph throughout our business exchange. So I urged my mom to call this place after researching on yelp quickly (worried that the garage door was going to collapse entirely, I had to move quickly). He was such an honest and down-to-earth guy, who clearly had decades of experience and knew every intricate detail about garage repairs. He took a look at our garage and concluded that it was simply too costly to try to repair the damage already done. He advised we get a new one. Ralph could easily have scammed us like the last person we got for a few hundred bucks with the promise to have a quick fix for a month or two, but instead, he gave his honest professional opinion. I offered him a Sprite can from the refrigerator in the garage as we were waiting for Bejermin to stop by and give us more details moving forward. He explained each of our options for a new door, and the prices seemed reasonable, so we agreed to have Genesis install the new garage door. The NEXT day, Bejermin sent over two of his employees to configure the new garage door. Both of these guys were class A professionals and completed the task excellently. Our new garage with windows looks absolutely gorgeous. Later the same day, Bejermin stopped by to take a look at the garage and make sure everything was done well and as planned. Indeed it was! Every penny for the garage was worth the excellent customer service every single person displayed throughout my family's experience with them. I looked everywhere for a reputable garage door company. I asked my friends if they recommended or have used any garage door company in the past, but unfortunately they hadn't. One of friends actually told me about a garage door company near her house and I called to check their prices. I needed to have my garage door springs repaired. The garage door stopped working and I couldn't access it or fix it myself. I called Genesis Garage Doors & Gates Repair in Los Angeles and was instantly impressed with their customer service. The staff was very helpful with giving me garage door repair and spring repair quotes. They said they would send out their garage door repair technician, Mike, to check out the garage door and the springs to give me an exact quote. When Mike arrived he was very professional and helpful with answering my questions. He told me what the spring repair process was and how long it would take for it to be repaired. The price was very affordable and reasonable considering how professional and what an expert Mike, the repair technician is. Mike told me that to help lift a heavy garage door, the springs apply twisting force to the torsion tube. Drums at the ends of the tube act as reels, winding up the cables connected to the door. Apparently, the most common problems with this system are broken springs or cables. Smaller doors often have just one spring, but in my case the door is not small so there are two springs that needed to be replaced and repaired. When the coil on my garage door broke, I had no idea whom to call, so I turned to my trusty friend, the internet. this garage door repair company, with its glowing, five-star reviews sounded like a pretty safe bet. After my experience with them, I clearly see what all the fuss was about. I called this garage door company late Friday evening (after 7), and Zack not only answered, but agreed to come by Saturday afternoon to take care of the coil. He was professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and an all around nice guy. I think it might have taken him a total of 35 minutes, and that included a full tune up of the door's hinges, rollers, and rails.
