When we called on Monday morning they said they would after we told them what it was doing. Received a call telling us that they found nothing wrong with it - all our invoice says is they did a diagnostic test. We asked them to drive it for awhile. Upon picking it up on our way back through - they said again they could find nothing wrong with it and it was fine to get it checked out when we got home. Needless to say it started overheating 20 minutes down the highway and we had to stop all the way home to let it cool down - 97 away from home it completely died and we had to have it towed. Contacted to get my money refunded - been 5 days - still no word. Disappointed. They seemed to be nice - but did nothing for us and just cost us more $$.

While eating at Firehouse Subs, we asked local police deputy, who was also eating there, if he would recommend close-by garage we could take car to to check on noise. He directed us to Alvey's. We arrived at Alvey's who was getting ready to close for the Christmas holidays. We shared our situation with Alvey. He said he would take a look. Drove it and then up on a lift. He said issue with low gear in trans. I wanted to know if it would get us to KC. He said yes but would check with his trans guy, who was also getting ready to shut down for the holidays. Trans guy "yes" said it should make it, too. We thanked Alvey, and asked how much we owed him for his service. He said nothing and Merry Christmas. I would highly recommend Alvey's to others. Did a great job for us. By the way, we did make it to KC and then back to Atl with no trans problems. Took car to my trans shop when I got back home. Two thumbs up and five stars for Alvey's

Undoubtedly these people are nice. They brought a courtesy car to pick us and our puppy up off the…read moreside of the freeway when the tow truck could only take two out of three of us. Their waiting area is very comfortable, which was important to me, since my sciatic nerve is flared up. However, their service center seems to be every nightmare you have heard of. We were towed in with broken serpentine and power steering belts. They tried to tell us our timing belt was broke and had caused damage to the other belts. I told them that wasn't possible since we had within the last 4 months, installed a nearly new engine in my 300,000+ mile Toyota Sienna. We had installed a new top of the line timing belt when we put in the engine. The manager went back to the garage to inquire further about the belt, but they insisted the timing belt damaged the cover, which damaged the other belts. Since the new belt had a warranty, we called AAA for the second time that day, to tow our car to our mechanic in Princeton. Next we got a rental car to get us back home to Crittenden county. Our mechanic checked over the timing belt and determined there was NO damage, no frays, and the white lettering on the belt could still be seen. What makes me really upset is that While we did not fall for getting the timing belt fixed, we did have to rent a car to get home, and waste a AAA tow for my van which was functioning just fine after they fixed the real problem. The car we rented was not nearly as friendly on my sciatic nerve flare up as my van is. We also have to spend extra gas money to return the car all the way back to Paducah on a month where we are already struggling to pay the bills.
