As a former employee of Mike Nevil, I worked with him on several local jobs in LC before he…read moreemployed me on a week long, out of town job in NOLA. The first day we were working, after berating me and his only other employee about safety, Mike forgot to tie his end of the rope attached to the tree, once he pushed the tree to be released the roughly 500lb log fell to the ground less than 5 feet from the other employee, it would have killed him had it landed on him. Thank God for the guardian angel that day, as no one was injured. This man only preaches and cares about safety on the surface level, he is insistant that he will not get in a tree without smoking MJ first. I did not work on one job with him where he did not smoke or mention smoking before climbing the trees and starting the chainsaw. Before hiring him, know that when he is doing work on your trees, he is without a doubt high on MJ. He has a medical license, however this is not the sort of work you do intoxicated on any substances prescription or otherwise. The risk of injury or death is to high. Due to this incident, I no longer work for Mike Nevil as I have a family that I need to get home to at the end of the day, and I can't risk my life because the owner of the company is negligent of his and others safety.

I'd…read morepreviously gotten estimates for a fairly large landscaping job, that involved tearing out a lot of old shrubs, planting new, cleaning out overgrowth and trimming the bushes/hedges that could be saved, and installing rock and mulching. Grant designed and laid out the back yard landcaping, choosing plants that would be easy to maintain and would blend with the few bushes and other plants that had been saved. His decision to use mulch with a gorgeous rock border was spot on. The front landscaping was a jungle, but Grant was able to see the good that was buried between and under the overgrowth, which saved me from a complete tear out of hedging and other mature bushes. The end result, both front and back, felt like coming back to a brand new home...one I am happy to see when I arrive or just to go out back and enjoy. One of the things that most impressed me about Grant is his integrity in doing business. That alone is the most important quality for any business, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

It started with recurring lawn maintenance, where he was dependable and efficient. This eventually led to some tree care and limb removal and cleaning gutters, all done well. I had a house that was badly damaged since Laura and Delta; he first pointed me in the right direction for permits, and then he and his crew helped clean it out, demolish the bulk of it, and preserve one end of it that was salvageable. He lined up other trades when needed like electricians and carpenters, and overall made the experience easy and smooth.
