We 100% regret using this company! Our crawlspace was mildewed and wet. They promised/guaranteed…read morethe space would be dry and insulated. After they took our $1500 deposit, it took multiple calls to get them in to do the work. Once they completed the work we had paid over $4000. The space is NOT insulated, they left the entrance hole wide open, and there was water in it from a leak. A leak they knew about and neglected to tell us. The job was in January, 2019. After multiple calls for weeks they came back and fixed a piece of flexed duct work that was destroyed by the leak - mid March. It's still very cold in the addition. The mildew is gone, at least. We now have to spend more money to go back inside and insulate it ourselves. We are highly disappointed!!

My husband and I decided to take on the work ourselves. Not only did we have to finish a lot of work, but many of the things had to be redone because of shoddy workmanship. Cabinets weren't level, were not hung securely, were hung over walls that needed fixed, & filler pieces were attached backwards. We expressed concern to Ed multiple times and were told that we needed to be patient & give him time or that things are within code (we have since learned this is incorrect!) Cabinets were hung before drywall and paint so he could get his money drawl earlier. I have documentation & pictures to back up everything. There was no respect for our property. No plastic was put up to cover our belongings, grout was all over our new carpet, mortar was on our black cabinets, our furniture was used as a ladder because they continuously came unprepared, and they actually wrote measurements on the brand new cabinets! We went 3 weeks in the middle of our reno with little to no progress. Ed's answer was to consistently throw his employees under the bus. There were several days where no one showed & Ed did not communicate with us or 1 or 2 workers would come for an hour or two then leave. The very last thing that they were supposed to do is come & hang one cabinet. Instead of hanging the cabinet, they cut part of the wall off and left with the cabinet sitting on the kitchen floor. I can't make this stuff up! My husband had to completely rebuild the wall. Ed never responded when I asked what happened. Ed promised numerous times that he would be here to oversee the the work, that he was going to put in our tile floor & backsplash - none of those promises came to fruition. Over 10 weeks he was here very little. We finally put a stop pay on our last check after everything that we had been put through because they weren't showing up (we paid a portion up front and the amount of work remaining far exceeded what had been done). At this point, we had paid thousands and weren't even close to having our project completed after 10 weeks. Being displaced in your home with 3 dogs during Thanksgiving and Christmas was awful. We were told this would be finished before Thanksgiving multiple times! We will eventually tear up the tile floor that they didn't install correctly. On top of everything else they installed an electric cooktop and didn't run electric to it. They fixed plumbing twice then my husband ended up redoing it for the 3rd time. We gave members of the crew our dishwasher, washing machine and dryer plus all of our old cabinets. We are good reasonable people. There were two or three workers who were good workers/people but unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. We have had to deal with a lot of remodeling both with and without contractors and nothing was as bad as dealing with Artisan Construction. Not only is Ed not a good businessman, I don't even think he's a good person.

He started out great, except for his price. I paid it even though it was about 20 to 25% higher…read morethan most. This was a whole house rewire on a 900 sq ft. The walls were stipped to the studs, and there is a full unfinished basement, so it was easy access. Still, i paid him over $9200.00. He did very good mostly, until I asked him to correct the placement of a dishwasher outlet. For a fee he would. I already paid someone else to move the outlets for the range and the microwave, but thought he should do this one with no added cost. Placement of appliance outlets is something any electrician should know...I looked it up and they are all the same. Also, this guy also asks you to give him a tip a on every invoice. I find this very insulting to low income waiters, hairdressers, and others who are traditionally tipped. I also dad to clean up after him. Now I'm wondering if he did everything else okay or if my house is going to burn down. Just read the response. I paid the tile guy about $8000 for a tub sized shower. There are places where the grout is missing, lots of tiles are NOT flush, a hole was put in the aluminum trim, the front of the shower is about an inch out of square, the light fixture in the shower was not fully installed, and there are some chipped tiles. No..not happy, but I paid him. I belive a customer has the right to expect a good job, and the tile was not. Rhododendren Electric did a good job, but their follow through is bad. And he will do everything possible to avert a negative review, which mine is not...just middle of the road. Just downgraded due to his false and slanderous response. Really, he's an okay electrician, but he seems much more concerned about his yelp review than he does about satisfying his customers. And, his response was reprehensible.

After calling an emergency plumber, they found that the issue was tree roots busting through our pipes and that their 100 ft snake could not clear them. We were told it would be pretty expensive to fix and they talked about a "sectional" and anywhere from $750 to $900 for that. My husband called Rivertown the next morning, desperate. They came out quickly and were able to clear the "2 small root balls" going about 85 feet in with their snake. It didn't take long at all, and they saved us money not needing to use more than the snake. The men very very nice and great at their jobs. Thank you guys! I hope we don't need a plumber again anytime soon, but we wouldn't hesitate to call you again with future plumbing issues.

He can do it all, including working on the roof and structures of my 1870's log built home. If he doesn't know how to do it, he finds out how and has been able to access slate and old logs, as was needed. He is always cheerful and friendly, and will purposely not show up to work before 9:00 and commonly works until 7PM. His work is quality and seems to be a very talented wood worker and craftsman, often building fancy cabinets or designs if asked. And his invoices are very reasonable, almost always less than I was expecting. I feel I can honestly recommend him and you won't be disappointed. Please try him for an estiimate!
