First issue we have: they installed the wrong kind of breaker, which was caught when the inspector from L&I looked at it. So they came back and replaced it, and we assumed all was well. We didn't test the outlet (we assumed it worked) or even need it until this year with the heavy rains, when we noticed our crawl space sump pump wasn't working. I went under the house and figured out it's the outlet not working. (L&I inspector didn't bother to test it either when they inspected the breaker.) I called David, and he says it's out of warranty (one year, never stated anywhere, but he's claims that's the industry standard). So we get another electrician to look at it, and it turns out THE CIRCUIT DOESN'T EVEN CONNECT TO THE OUTLET. From new electricians' invoice: "Circuit was tied into wrong 10/2 wire. 10/2 wire from panel did not go to Junction box." New electricians had to place a whole new wire between box and panel, because there wasn't one! David claims the outlet/circuit must have been tested when installed, but it appears that was simply untrue. Oh, and they overcharged us too. They charged for 3 hours of work, even though they were here for 1.5. David agreed to lower the charge to 2 hours, but he argued that it was industry standard to charge for the time it takes to get to the job. I'm sorry, but it doesn't take 1.5 hours to get from Tenino to Olympia, even if it makes any sense to charge for that time. David even complained that he "took a hit" by reducing the charge. I'd say we took a hit by trusting these guys. Oh, and the electricians we hired to fix their mess only charged for the time they were here, not the "industry standard" David described.

Derek was very specific  in answering all my questions about which generator to purchase.   There are so many options that it was a big job to find  the correct one.  His understanding of how to wire items into the solar grid is very impressive.   Jenny is very knowledgeable in her areas of the loan process she works very closely with the puget sound credit union to try to get you the best financial deal out there.  She seams to be very up to date on the changes in the local and federal mandate for solar energy. She has a great way of explaining what is feasible now and with is financially available.  Explaining that things in future can change for better.  Derek and Jenny work hand in  hand to get you the client the best you can reasonably afford.   I had a few concerns over a few items they were able to give me the exact answers I needed.   I worked very hard to understand and research questions I had.  I was able to text and call everyone involved with the process of my solar panel job.  It is a big decision with all persons involved.   I felt that when I had questions they tried very hard to get back to me with in a reasonably short time.

Friendly, Knowledgable and Quality team…read more I had been looking at getting a solar + battery system in my house for a few years. I talked to about 5 installers during this time and didn't feel comfortable with any of the bids I had received and had decided I was going to subcontract out the work with my own design. As I was getting ready to design my system I saw that united solar was a newish company that was certified to install sol ark. I contacted united solar and they really knew the ins and outs of all the technical aspects of solar. They were very friendly and spent a lot of time ensuring that I understood how the system would function so that I would not be disappointed - including but not limited to discussing how it would work in a backup with my heat pump, water heater, and any future expansions. I settled on a sol ark 15k, a 6kW DC solar array (will later expand to 19kW through their diy assistance) and a 24kWh battery. The install got off to a rough scheduling start due to a few surprise weather incidents but the work quality is top-notch and Aslan was very helpful at keeping us updated with respect to the delays and who was going to be showing up and when. We ended up doing a change order midway through and he made it very simple. Everything passed inspection the first time and it has been operating for a month flawlessly. They have done a great job remaining in contact with me during the process and always are happy to answer my technical questions even if it requires some research. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and would love to work with them again.

This business is now permanently closed according to their website. Per my previous review, I…read morewould like to add the following, if not already described: We had experienced issues (arc faults) and repeated calls for service went unanswered. We ended up going to another solar company out of Olympia to get these issues addressed. We knew once the other company touched the system it would null and void any service agreement with Universal Electric PNW. Long story short, the new company is currently on the roof reinstalling the L brackets and rails as they were not installed to manufacturer requirements (tile roof, tiles not ground flat) and rewiring the whole system at an out-of-pocket cost to us. If I could give this business a negative rating, they would receive it.

After scheduling an appointment 48 hours later (did I mention we had NO HEAT?) they never showed up. When we called to find out where the repairman was, the woman who answered the phone told me they were busy and wouldn't be coming. Looking at the other Yelp reviews on this business, I was a bit concerned about having "Precision"…read moredo a major Solar Installation and furnace upgrade for us but they are the only Solar option in our area. Our initial interview went well. Local utility personnel are familiar with Stan and his work and gave a "thumbs up". We contracted in two phases, the first to "reduce our load" by replacing an aged heat pump and adding a minisplit so that my wife could have separate control in the bedroom. Then we replaced two electric water heaters with one hybrid on his recommendation. Our electric bills plummeted. This was all done quickly and professionally as determined by availability of parts. Prices were reasonable and as problems were encountered he showed a willingness to share some costs. ... While the first phase was going on, Stan worked with me to design our solar power system. We settled on a ground-mounted array of 30 panels on net with distributed inverters. This is not the type of system they usually do but Stan showed great flexibility and willingness to work with me. Once we had a design, I sent it to a group of solar folks who did a previous system for us in another area. They reviewed the specs and replied "Looks good!" ... It took a long time to get the system up and operational, mostly because of permitting and inspection issues associated with our ground-mounted option. (If we had gone to a roof mounted system, permitting would have been faster but there would have been other types of problems.) Now, it's up and going, the meter is "spinning backwards" and I'm a satisfied customer. ... Stan can be a bit quirky, but so am I. I found that he answers texts more regularly than phone calls. His guys are courteous and friendly and Jacks of all trades. They leave the jobsite in decent order. ... It was a big, complex, expensive project (even with the considerable price reduction we were given) but in the end, I'm glad to have had it done by Precision Heating & Solar.
