I hired NP Exteriors to install my roof and gutters in 2018. They were one of the more expensive bids I got, but I just had a good feeling about them, and I was right. They were very professional and informative through the whole project. They made a mistake and took ownership of it and came back out to repair it (needed 1-2 more hole vents in my eaves). More so, a couple years later, when I was getting chimney work done, it was noted I had a leak along my chimney. It is hard to believe that it has been almost three years since Northern Pacific Exteriors completed our full house siding project. I'd like to offer a long-term review now that we've had a few years to live with the results. It is hard to believe, but I think I'm even happier with the quality of the work now than I was when they wrapped up the job. The house looks as good as it did when they pulled out of the driveway for the last time. I literally have nothing that doesn't look right about the job after three years of living with it. We have a 35 year old house that has cedar siding.  The south end takes a beating between the winter "Pineapple Express" storms and the summer sun.  Over time, even though it was painted regularly, the siding failed.  Finding some rot last summer, we decided to have this south end's siding replaced.  Do we select cedar again or something like James Hardie "HardiePlank"? Although I'm now retired, I worked for a company that was the major supplier of wood cellulose to James Hardie USA.  I was the salesman to Hardie.  Knowing what I know of HardiePlank, I decided to go with something "bullet proof" that could stand up to the harsh elements we have on that end of the house and offer a warranty. Doing on-line research, I saw that many said they could install Hardie products, but only a few were rated "Elite Preferred" by James Hardie. My memory of Hardie was the product failures are mostly caused by improper handling and installation.  Having the siding installed by manufacturer standards was important to me. A few "Elite Preferred" siding contractors came out to give is a bid.  Kurt of Northern Pacific did their bid.  He was so informative!  Due to my past relationship with James Hardie, I am not the "normal" Hardie customer.   Kurt was the most direct and clear - no sales bluster.  On that basis, I chose Northern Pacific. This was comparatively a small job and they were able to squeeze it in just before Thanksgiving.  I was concerned it would be done in the late Fall with risk of weather damage when the side was opened up.  A few my nervous calls to Michelle (NP's general manager) assured me all would be done with out rain risk.  Just before the install date, Ben (the site foreman) came to do some final job scoping.  He was also very good and clear in answering my many questions and concerns. The crew who did the install was first rate.  They really hustle!  The cedar siding tear down did reveal some damage to the under plywood sheeting and even the structural house frame due to years of moisture getting through the wood siding.  The crew  replaced the plywood and did repairs to the rotty house frame.  The City of Olympia inspector checked the game plan off before it was done.  Within about 3 days it was done start to finish. Care was even given to make sure the profile of the new lap siding matched the pattern of siding on the adjacent side.  Visually, they look the same. Real craftsmen! The yard was clean when they were done and no damage to the house plants.  That end of the house looks super! If I had one word to summarize the Northern Pacific Exteriors experience, it is communication.  What was promised was delivered.  My many, many questions were answered. Ben the foreman often sought me out to give me a progress update as the job was being done.  Considering the rot found, this was especially helpful.  Daily, Michelle would call to ask me how the day's work went. We totally recommend Northern Pacific and will use them again should the need arise. read more

After vetting several companies, I landed on NPE and I am happy I did. You may pay a little more, but you truly get what you pay for. NPE is incredibly communicative before, during and after the project. I unexpectedly had to have an electrician come to move my meter as part of the siding replacement activities and NPE coordinated seamlessly with the electrician. The crew was here Monday-Friday, on time every day working carefully and continuously to get the job done. The end result is absolutely beautiful! Follow up to 2022. I had free gutters installed which I paid extra for leaf screens. This past week I noticed "Tiger stripping" and contacted Northern Pacific to get the gutters company contact information to find out how to clean my gutters of the unsightly Tiger stripping after just 9 months. I was contacted by the gutter specialist at NP, Benjamin, who immediately rescheduled his morning. Ben said NP will do whatever is necessary to make it right. He cleaned all my gutters exteriors and found a perfect long term solution of installing gutter traps after they arrive from Canada. I love NP because they care about me as a customer. They do excellent work with a professional crew and high quality materials, but beyond that, my favorite thing about them is their clear and precise communication. I bought a building that had a 2-year-old roof which had been installed by Northern Pacific Exteriors. After I owned the building a couple of months, I discovered some problems in the venting which resulted in moisture issues in the attic. I called a roof repair vendor I know and got it repaired right away. But afterward, I thought I would call the original roofing company since it was so new and just ask if they would possibly help with some of the cost. I was absolutely blown away when they reimbursed me for the total cost of the repairs I had already paid for. They said they "stand behind their work" and boy did they show it. Other than the vent problems (which are now fixed) the roof is beautiful and shows good workmanship. I would use this company for anything roofing or exterior I need in the future. When I bought my home, my roof started leaking and I soon realized I would have to get the whole roof replaced. I was a wreck when I started calling around for bids. The receptionist at Northern Pacific Exteriors who answered my call was so calm....it really allowed me to relax about the problem. Just absolutely incredible customer service. I got about 5 bids on my roofing project and Northern Pacific Exteriors was the most professional. They have beautiful products, incredible warranties (e.g., full roof repair including labor for first five years--even longer with the more high end roofs I believe), and non-pushy staff. When I met one of the salesman at my home to go over my bid, I kept thinking there is NO way I can afford this. Places with staff this incredible and products this great are not cheap. Surprisingly, they were SO competitively priced. They were only 1000 more than my lowest bid, which is saying something because my lowest bid did not include gutters, a new skylight, and the incredible transferable warranty that I received from Northern Pacific. It is worth noting that NPE only requires you to put down the tax when you schedule and they have the option of financing. I knew right away from that initial appointment that I would use them. I'm so glad I did. They're really popular so they were booked about 6 weeks out. I was worried about additional damage to my house so they came out (free of charge) and put a tarp on my roof to make sure no other damage would occur. They were also able to move up the install date because a slot in their scheduled opened up. The project only took 2 days and they did a great job cleaning up. Finally, they had originally stated they would let me know if there would be any "extra" fees while installing my roof. When the bill came with the extra fees to replace some rotten wood, which they had not told me about, I called their front office and complained. They understood my complaint and ended up paying for the extra wood themselves!!!! I've never been so impressed. If you have a roofing problem, definitely call this place. I have had to replace only one roof in my life. I selected NPE because the salesman was professional, friendly, and read me accurately (i.e. Don't be too buddy-buddy). They were competitive with price, but that was not the determining factor. I selected the heaviest asphalt shingle from CertainTeed (Presidential TL). The 3-man crew ended up having to work around a week of rainy and windy weather, all with no problems whatsoever. The finished product is beautiful - and I do not use that word much when describing a roof! Would recommend this outfit without a second's hesitation. read more

I was impressed with NP Exteriors from the start. When we requested an estimate, the salesman took at least an hour up on our roof and in the attic. He was able to provide a very accurate estimate based on his research, so there were no surprises. We decided upon a metal roof, and were lucky to be eligible for free gutters. Our biggest issue was timing. We fell on their calendar during winter, and since we needed to have our roof replaced down to the studs, so it took a few weeks to get a day that didn't threaten rain. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars was that they didn't notice that our plumbing valve was on a hip, so it had to be moved at the last minute. Also, metal roofing provider did not provide all the correct pieces, so that delayed the work for several days. On the other hand, when we developed a leak while waiting for a good roofing day, they sent someone out, who put a temporary seal on the leak. The work was done well. The staff was extremely conscientious about cleaning up afterward. And we received daily calls from the office to keep us updated on status. If I had questions or concerns, they were always addressed; I was never treated as a worry wart. I would recommend NP Exteriors to anyone wanting a roof replacement. read more

We thought we needed new siding and some of our windows' seals have gone out, so some new windows too. NPE came out to give us a quote. Mike checked out my siding, tapping it and using a moisture meter. Highest the meter got was 12. Mike said we only need to worry about New siding if our moisture % is 25 or higher. In short, he said we don't need new siding!!! Yay we don't have to get a loan. Yay we don't have to spend money we don't have on that right now!!! The contractor we had out the day before was not so honest. Mike did give us a quote on our windows that need replacing, in which everything was detailed in it. NPE has integrity folks!! You will never find another company as professional, organized, detail-oriented, and having a high quality of workmanship as this company. In Dec 2016, we started to research companies to redo our siding/windows/roof. We must have interviewed at least 6 companies. Some we knew right off the bat, nope, not for us. Some were "ok" but once the representatives from Northern Pacific came (Mike for the siding and Caleb/Gary for the roof), we knew that they were right for us. Whereas other companies, may list "replace roof" on their bid, Northern Pacific listed in detail exactly what "replace roof" meant. This takes so much of the guessing work out of it and both the customer and the company know what work will be done. By having this kind of detail up front, you know what you are getting. You know from day 1 the type of material they are using as well as anything else that is needed. Their bid has 3 options (gold, silver, and platinum) to help you figure out what is right for you. As well as the 3 options, you can also customize each option if that better suits your needs as well. From the detail in the bid, to the detail of the work, and the amazing customer service... you will not find a more professional company than this. When the work was started, we had a wonderful group of men working on our siding and windows project (Jose, Jose S, Gabe, Irving, Tom, and Ralph). The foreman was Ben - he was outstanding! Whereas most companies would just do the work, Ben and his crew would look at every single detail and make sure it was done right. They have so much pride in their work and it shows. A few times I would watch the guys work for a few minutes. You can really tell that they like what they are doing - they were laughing, singing, and just really enjoying what they were doing. The roofing men were Miguel and his crew. I didn't see them as often as I saw the siding crew, but they were just as friendly and accommodating. The crews had everything they needed on site. There were the tools of course, but also a pop up tent and a porta-potty for the crew to use. I know those are small things but, if I see that a company is willing to make their employees comfortable on the job site, then I know they treat them well and in turn they will treat their customers well. Then there is Amber (and Mandy ) in the office. From the moment we decided to go with this company, she was the liason. Before the project even started, she would give us weekly or so phone calls just to let us know the project was on schedule and if by chance, there was a delay, she made sure we knew why. We appreciated these check-ins because it showed that we weren't forgotten about. Then when the project started, there were nightly phone calls to see how things went that day. She asked if there were any concerns, questions, or overall comments. Most days there was no need to return her phone call, or talk with her, because everything was going well. If there was any time that there was an issue (very rarely), it was addressed immediately. The crew was right on that issue the very next day. After the project was over, she called a few more times to make sure we were happy with things, etc. You get used to the nightly phone calls and kind of miss it afterwards. If we ever needed any more work done, I would not hesitate one bit, I would be speed dialing Northern Pacific. We chose them and they did a fantastic job! They have the best customer service, before the project starts, they told us the process in details so we knew what to expect. Before the project starts, they give me a call every Friday to tell me the progress (if there is any delay on the schedule). Once it starts, the office call me everyday to check up if I have any concerns with the work crew. The workers were really hard working and ended up with a beautiful new metal roof. This is my second job with Northern Pacific Exteriors. Several years ago, they installed a metal roof on my old house and they did such an outstanding job on the roof, I went back this time with a siding job on a house I bought a few years ago. This siding job began on 01-09-2017 and ended on 01-30-2017. I have a 2-story home with a daylight basement. The south side of the home is 3 stories from the ground up. Scope of work: replace existing siding and wrap. Replace existing window framing and frame unframed windows and doors. Replace all fascia, gutters and replace 1-aluminum garden window with a white vinyl window that matched all the other windows on the house. I went with the James Hardie products: HARDIEWRAP® Weather Barrier, HardiePlank® Lap Siding Select Cedarmill in the color Aged Pewter, and the HARDIETRIM® BOARDS and HARDIESOFFIT® PANELS in Artic White. Only 4 windows had framing (2 North facing & 2 East facing). The 2 sliders and 10 windows facing south & west were not framed at all. None of the windows, sliding doors and original siding butt joints were flashed. The house was wrapped in tar paper. Northern Pacific Exteriors arranged for a dumpster and a porta-potty that arrived on day one. Each and every day the crew showed up on time despite freezing temperatures and pouring rain. The crew was professional, courteous and personable. Brian was the Lead on the job. This guy is a rock-star and it soon became apparent that he and his crew were highly experienced. Brian answered all my questions as the job went along. Amber was my Customer Support contact. Customer Support called me every afternoon after the job started to see if I had any questions or concerns. This company is seriously customer service oriented! The south side of the house had the most transformation. Sections of the existing siding was popping and bowing. I had butt joint gaps in excess of 1/2" in some areas. The bowed area was a concern. After the siding was torn off, the OSB board was in-tack and had no visible signs of rot, so Brian had the bowed section of the OSB board cut out. Turns out the builder had installed a seriously bowed vertical 2x4 under the window and just sided over it! Brian and his crew were meticulous ... they resolved every issue and thoroughly taped every seam in the Hardiewrap, flashed and flash taped every window and door and flashed every butt joint. Brian removed an original aluminum garden window with a new white vinyl window on a bump-out section on the south side of the house. The front of the bump-out had to be reframed including the small overhang. The end result was beyond my expectation. What a transformation! Not only does my house look AMAZING, more importantly, I know it was a stellar installation that gives me peace of mind ... I guess the 30 year transferrable warranty is a plus. I am a very happy camper. Northern Pacific Exteriors is the only construction company I would consider using for anything relating to roofing, windows, siding and gutters.
