I had minestrone soup and their pitalian salad. Both were delicious! I was surprised that the beans and vegetables in the soup were cooked beautifully without being mushy in the broth. *Lovely broth without being excessively salty. I really enjoyed the soup. My partner had soup with sausage and meatballs in a cheese sauce. Out of this world! What a treat! Worth a visit is you are looking for a fun menu filled with light dishes and pizza options. If we lived here it would be a go to restaurant for sure.

I ordered the Spicy Meatball pizza, and while the dough was fresh, it was extremely salty and hard. The sauce and cheese were no better, being just as salty and very artificial. The "spicy meatballs" were just weird-tasting meatballs with a ton of chili flakes, not spicy meatballs. It was very cheap in quality but expensive in price. I do not recommend anyone who loves pizza to get this one. People always say the service is fast, but I had lazy service. What I mean is that you have to go up and do everything yourself except for the cooking. I almost was charged for an extra cheese pizza that I didn't order. It took about 30 minutes for this ~8 inch pizza, which wasn't that bad. But everything was just slow and there were some times where things were really busy. The restaurant itself was okay. Although it doesn't make up for the 3/10 meal, it was cushy but there were places that were pretty dirty. It's more interesting than actually good, but the booths were a little nice. Overall, I do not recommend this place. Take your business somewhere else, because I will most likely never come back to Pitalian. Sorry.

What a difference from a few years ago! I took my hunting buddy here for dinner before opening day…read moreof turkey season and our experience was pretty bad. I had made reservations in the bar to watch the NFL draft. They put us as far away from the smaller TV as they could and right next to the music speakers. We ordered Rye Old Fashioneds to start. They served us kiddie cherry juice and soda with a splash of rye. We complained that these were not old fashioneds and the bartender said that "that is how they make an Old Fashioned". So if we order fried chicken, would we get spaghetti and meatballs? This was ridiculous. The bartender did not offer to make us something else - he just walked away. We tried the raviolli special as a shared app. It was reheated frozen garbage on canned stewed tomatos. My friend had a brisket sandwich and I had the jalapeno burger for entres. Both were unremarkable and overpriced. We were both stomach sick for two days after eating here - must have been the ravioli "special". I cant imagine how I enjoyed our visit years ago. The owner sits in the dining room and greets guests as they come and go - friendly but wierd. He needs to fix his bad breath if he wants to talk to all the guests.

A little local trivia for anyone who remembers: back in the '90s, this building was a dry cleaner…read morewhere my parents used to drop off their clothes. Fast forward to post-COVID, and it's been transformed into something completely different: Fancy Pizzeria, run by a family with a clear passion for what they do, complete with an oven imported from Italy. Anytime someone says Safford needs a Chili's, I cringe... not because I don't like Chili's, but because good help is hard to find in a small town. The owners here seem to understand that, keeping things lean and hands-on with very little hired help. As a result, the service from the husband-and-wife team is genuinely great... though when it gets busy, things can slow down. I've experienced that firsthand, and walked out once a couple years ago after a long wait...but I came back, and I'm glad I did. The food is, simply put, amazing. The pizza has that perfect charred crust you usually only find in bigger cities or on the East Coast. The Italian sodas are excellent. I've yet to try anything, from appetizers to pasta dishes, that didn't hit the mark. Prices are a bit higher than most spots in town, but the quality absolutely justifies it when it's in the budget. I've heard the name "Fancy Pizzeria" was intentional: they wanted to set the expectation that this isn't your typical greasy pizza joint... and they deliver on that, consistently. The dining area has expanded quite a bit recently, and the decor is creative and unique, with many of the dishes and utensils sourced from local thrift shops. All in all, this place stands out in Safford in the best way. I genuinely love everything about it and hope they can continue to operate in the years to come!

I stopped by another day and got a cheese pizza with pepperoni and bell peppers and got an acactus drink. The drink wasn't bad, it was a nice bit of sweetness for my drive home! The pizza may have parts of the crust black, but it DID NOT taste burnt at all! I really got hooked after trying my second slice. The dough is really good! Was the perfect size ;) the owner is very polite and a great conversationalist! I think she's the owner anyways! I got to sit on their comfy benches while waiting for the pizza to bake. The site is closed from 2pm - 4pm.. if you are 20-30 minutes short... I think it's worth the wait! :). Great place, even greater vibes!!
