Music from live bands or DJs set the tone as you shop at the dozen or so tents. Buy Jersey fresh, produce including my favorites, sweet white corn and hydroponically grown lettuce. Get super high quality locally produced and exotic meat. If your not about making your own food from scratch, visit the Polish or Italian specialty tents where you can buy fully prepared meals that just need to be cooked. For instant gratification, get food from the trucks including empanadas. There is the most delicious pickles and olives, fresh baked goods, artisan chocolates and more. It was easy to find what I needed and they do take credit cards which makes it convenient. This is my new favorite place to shop for produce . Along with our lilac bush, I also got a few new herb plants like basil, cilantro and somer curly parsley for myself. Everything is growing strong and healthy and I flourishing! They have a big beautiful space filled with flowers and plants both inside and outside, as well as a big greenhouse filled with their veggie and herb plants. I could spend a good chunk of time just wandering, but the more time I spend the more money I spend, of course. The market, held every Saturday from spring to fall, is anchored by three farms that each sell fresh produce, priced similarly so you can choose your favorite on quality. Scattered throughout are other longtime favorites, including delicious order ahead empanadas and barrels of pickles. But along with those mainstays are a revolving cast of tasty treats and interesting stands - from craft beers and ciders to freshly-made pesto and baked goods. The market does get crowded around lunchtime, and with few tables available for sitting and snacking, it isn't somewhere to stop and eat. That said, there are a couple of nice restaurants in walking distance, so you can always grab a bite after getting your produce.
