I absolutely love this Farmers Market ! I have been going here for years. When it comes to fresh fruit and vegetables they have it all ! It gets very packed in there on the weekends so I suggest going during the week! Their prices are fairly priced but definitely cheaper than your average grocery store. In the back of the store they have a fish market, and an area that sells boars head, cheese, etc. You can also get fresh bread, spices, milk and so much more scattered around the store. The workers are very sweet and helpful. They ring you up extremely fast and efficiently. ( I really don't know how they memorize the prices of things it's crazy!) It's not often I find a grocery/ market that I really like, but Rt 28 Market is that place. I was pleasantly surprised to find really good quality produce, breads, fruits, vegetables, fish and a flower department along with ethnic and specialty items like olive oils, pastas, dairy, spices etc. I've been to other discount markets but this one has amazingly low prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful guiding me in finding certain items. The staff is hard working and continuously replenished the fresh produce. It was easy to find what I needed and they do take credit cards which makes it convenient. This is my new favorite place to shop for produce . They are located in a strip mall across from Texas Weiner, there's plenty of free parking. I heard this place can get really busy so I suggest coming at off times like during the week or at night. Weekends can get really, really busy. I promise you this will be your new favorite place to shop and you won't be disappointed... read more

I've been coming here regularly since they opened up and they have a very convenient location in the shopping center in the middle of town with plenty of parking. They have a great selection and excellent prices. Much less expensive then shopping at ShopRite for produce. They also have a great selection of fresh rolls, some breads, and a small bagel selection that are very inexpensive but you need to get there early because by the afternoon many times everything is sold out. They have a fresh fish market in the back of the store that I've purchased things from before. You pay for those purchases separately. There is also a small deli area in the back also that you pay separately as well. They also have a small dairy section with milk and eggs. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is sometimes the lines are really long to check out. So long that on a few occasions I've turned around and walked out rather then wait so long for just a few items. Maybe they should try an express check out line for people who are only buying a few things. All in all it's a great farmers market. read more

New to the area and I'm so happy to get great produce for a fraction of the price. Items are not organic but a good rinse in the home and they stay good for days/weeks. Staff is constantly restocking and it is rare that the produce i am looking for is not available. read more

I have been shopping at this market for 7 years. You really have to pick and choose what you buy here. You also have to compare prices because super market can have sales and you can buy your items fresher and cheaper at times. A cashier whose name is Ana Sanchez was extremely rude and way out of line. I saw her being rude to other customers before. Today she decided to accuse me of putting two bunches of parsley together and pay for one. I was very upset for this ridiculous and uncalled for accusation. I called the manager and we both went to the parsley and I showed him how some bunches are bigger and fresher than others. He agreed and said pick what you want and take it to another cashier and not to go to Ana who was way out of line. If this rude girl Ana keeps this up this market will lose so many customers. Really good grocery store. So sick of Shoprite's poor quality produce for outrageous pricing. People usually hear farmers market and think expensive, but this is sooo much cheaper for honestly so much better quality compared to shoprite of piscataway, where produce was very limited and often rotten. Didn't try their fish section here yet because was in a rush. Not everything is perfect (the packaged stuff like grape tomatoes not always freshest) but the quality you get when on a students budget is significant. read more

I've been going to this farmers market/supermarket hybrid for the last two years. I love it entirely. The produce are not only so cheap, but in really good permission. They usually put out fresh produce on sunday, which is their busiest day. If they ever have produce that are starting to be less than fresh (such as a surplus pf strawberries) they will throw them on sale for dirt cheap. The variety is amazing. You can get any fruit or vegetable throughout the year (unlike most farmers markets), they have fresh bread, cheap spices, hispanic ingredients, and super fast cashiers. The produce goes bad very fast. Sometimes I have noticed they will have a certain kind of produce for a cheap price and then the same produce for a higher price. If you buy the cheaper one, it is rotten when you get home. The prices are better than the supermarket, but when you get home and have to throw away half a bag of potatoes that you bought the day before...probably not cost effective. And don't even THINK about taking anything back! They won't take anything back ever. read more

Rt. 28 Farmers Market has a good selection of fresh vegetables at excellent prices. What used to cost $10 at the local supermarket now costs between $3 and $5. This place does get busy so you know the produce is nice and fresh and constantly being rotated. The polish deli in the back is also quite good and has a variety of goods, though it isn't part of the farmers market directly (they sub-lease the space). The fish market is a bit questionable and I have gotten decent fish from there on occasion, however I've also gotten bad fish too (they are also sub-leased like the deli). read more

Great place for cheap produce. This is NOT local - its the same stuff you'll get at the super market, but better variety and less expensive. The fish always looks like it is fresh and good quality, though I have never tried it myself. Always fresh produce and lot of variety of vegetables, fruits, bake products, meats and dry nuts. They are always busy. Store is clean too compare to other farmer markets. Employee are great and they do their best to keep moving line at cashier. Bathroom is available which is in back of the store and also clean. read more

Produce isn't always the best, sometimes you have to sift through, but prices are unbeatable and staff is courteous. We also enjoy the breads and fresh fish, both are always fresh and well priced, this market makes eating healthy affordable! A great place to get fresh produce at very very good price on almost everything. The fresh herbs are so much cheaper and fresher than even Wegmans. The only thing I would not recommend are garlic because they are all the way from China. In addition there is a wonderful Polish deli and a very good seafood store inside. I love the Polish deli they have amazing bacon. Most of the fish and shellfish I have gotten from the seafood store is also very good. Give it a try you will love it!!! The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that there are no organic strawberries and blueberries. read more

These are definitely the best prices in the area for fruits and veggies. Don't be fooled by the name, this is not a real farmer's market and the produce isn't local or anything. That being said, they have a pretty good selection of fruits and veggies for cheap. If you are picky about getting local or organic produce, this is not the place for you. Went to the market today hungry for seafood and with good reviews of same from coworkers. The seafood market is in the back and a leased space. I wound up purchasing sea scallops @ $13.99/lb which was cheaper than the local supermarkets. They were gorgeous, fresh and not bleached. The prices are good this place but the new manager Andy is very rude and does not know how to talk to customers. He gets angry at customers. I shop there a lot but always have an issue with him. He has told me that if you don't like it then leave. This place will lose customers if he doesn't change his attitude. read more

I purchased 1/2 gal 2% milk 9-8-15 and the bottle did not have label with company that makes the milk (cream of land nj) The market had 5 bottles with no labels this is against the law every product must have a label showing who the manufacture is . The market is only concerned with stocking the shelves and not what they are doing. The price is the same in all the supermarkets . The fruit is less expensive because it is poor quality half the time you throw part of what you bought out. read more

I buy all my fruits and vegetables here. They last for a long time in the fridge and the prices are amazingly low! The seafood and meat departments in the back also have some nice items and I've always been happy with the quality of the products. There are usually lots of lanes open to check out so I've never had to wait more than one cart deep to check out. I try to go on off hours (not nights or weekends) because it does get pretty crowded! I like that the place is busy though because it means a lot of turnover and fresh produce. read more
