I did not attend this place, but I was able to eat some of their apple cider donuts. The apple cider donuts were very tasty. They appeared to be doughy from first look. However, when I ate them, that was not the case at all. They were not dense and had a good amount of apple cider flavor. There was powdered sugar present on these as well that added a nice touch. The apple cider flavoring was not lacking, but there was also not too much where it was not overpowering either. Overall, I enjoyed them. Will I go back? Apple picking here used to be free, but they are now charging an entrance fee. $3 if you reserve online, and $5 (+ tax) at the door. I obviously preferred free, but I guess the cover was not terrible, especially given that the farm is not overly crowded/ chaotic, and also the apple price was fairly reasonable. There were plenty of apples to choose from so we ended up getting a bunch. The apples were really delicious... didn't have any bad ones which was a good surprise. There was some lining too pay but it wasn't terrible. They also have a small store selling cider, cider donuts, etc. The cider donuts were really good. read more

There are so many farms that go out of their way to give patrons a good experience in the fall. This one is not one of them anymore, sadly. We used to love it, but between the fees, the poor crowd control, the waits and the corporatization of the farm, plus rude and surly workers, we'll take our business elsewhere. I really like this farm stand for it's local grown produce, much of which is grown on their own land. The prices are very competitive with your local supermarket and the freshness of the produce makes the deal that much better. This farm stand is really conveniently located about a quarter-mile off of Route 22 on route 28. Also in the near vicinity is an excellent butcher. They take cash and credit. There are multiple stands within a 5-10 mile radius. I am very new to this market. However, last night I made corn on the cob from the stand and I cut up one of their Jersey tomatoes too. The corn was sweet, the tomato was Harding and both were so, so fresh! Tonight I plan on making a salad with their red Romain, cucumbers and more tomatoes. I plan to use their garlic in a chicken dish too. (The garlic was so fresh and punch and that my car smelled like a garlic bomb all the way home, including when I got my car this morning. read more

Made a quick stop before heading back home from a soccer tournament nearby and so glad that yelp sent me to this cute farm stand.. we bought doughnuts,, apples and some surprisingly delicious hard cider. I've never really enjoyed hard cider before but I wanted to try theirs because from the amount of variety available and the labels it seemed like they took this seriously.. next time I will probably try their wine also read more

Had a great experience here with the family. Love that there was a variety of fruits for us to pick from, there were white and yellow peaches (almost ending, I believe, but still super sweet and juicy!), Asian pears, and different types of apples (McIntosh, Gala, Honey Crisp, Blondies, and Fuji). It was $1.59/lb if you have 10lbs or more, if not it was $1.99/lb. Everyone at the orchard was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back again! Also, There are picnic tables outside of the fields, perfect for an outdoors lunch/picnic after fruit picking. read more

Delicious produce, baked goods and cider at the farm stand. The pies are scrumptious. The stand is only part of the farm. They also have an apple orchard and cider mill where you can pick different varieties of apples. It was a fun short car trip with a toddler to see and pick up pumpkins. I haven't been here in ages because I feel like the timing never works out while I'm in the area visiting family. On my most recent visit, I finally got to stop in! I was nervous because I didn't have more than $5 cash, but I found out right here on Yelp that they accept credit cards so I was good to go! I expected to just pick up a couple of small items and be on my way, but I realized pretty quickly that I would need a basket to continue my shopping. There was a good selection of fresh veggies and fruits, as well as squash (I visited in the fall). Veggies and fruits are great and I really love them, BUT I couldn't have been more excited to see that they had cans of their own hard cider! I picked up the ginger cider and I just can't wait to try it. The prices were reasonable and the variety of selections was impressive given the modest size of the establishment. Super cute farm for photo opps with babies! The pumpkin patch is a bit of a hike but worth it. They don't charge admission either to pick apples and have a nice variety. In the entrance is a little store where they sell donuts pies and cider. The Apple pie is great as is the cider. The donuts are only slightly better than Dunkin donuts. Well stocked, but not the friendliest service. We've gotten used to service with a smile at our local farmstands - that's why we like to go to them rather than just a supermarket. Not so much here. That being said, we were able to get some fresh corn and some very different - and delicious - heirloom tomatoes here. Not sure we'll be running back though. read more

This is a beautiful orchard located in Califon. We decided last minute to go apple picking on Sunday 10/16.Tickets must be purchased online for each guest attending regardless of age $5.99. Ample parking in the lot and not overly crowded. The attendants at the front were welcoming and gave each of us a bag to hold our apples. Rows and rows of various apples . It was a beautiful day . There's a goat but that's about it for animals . They had a row of about 20+bee hives for their honey . A lot of walking because only 1 tractor was available to give rides . No actual pumpkin patch only pumpkins available for purchase at the little general store . Not alot of activities for the kids that you would except from typical farms this time of year . There was a corn maze but nothing spectacular. Left with assorted apples/hard cider/apple wine and pie . My only issues were the 1 tractor that only held a small number of people at a time ...not enough signage labeling the different apples ...and there was no actual food only snacks (chips/doughnuts). Would I come back ? Probably not but it was a nice experience. read more

Don't bother going without a reservation. I showed up, with my wife, 2yo and 4mo all ready to go apple picking, lugging stroller and diaper bag. NOT ONE SIGN in OR AROUND THE BUILDING SAID ANYTHING ABOUT RESERVATIONS. SIX EMPTY LINES ON THE BILLBOARD OUTSIDE. I walk right up to the entrance, no line. Of course there was plexiglass, and we had masks on. The guy at the entrance asks for my name to check the reservation. I asked him what that was for and he said to go apple picking. He said the owner will only let you go apple picking with a reservation. I stated i don;t have one, but that ive been apple picking here for years. ( i grew local, but now live 30 min away) I told him reservation, really? he said yes. i said i got the family here, look. He said i need a reservation. I told him that a reservation for apple picking was the stupidest thing i have ever heard. Funny how i can go food shopping in a walmart and walk right in to the building, or wait in line. But to walk into a 100 acre field, try to pick a few apples, take pictures with my kids, i need a reservation. You can have your rules, its your business. I guess you don't need customers. read more

What a fun day we had here! This is a great farm for apple picking, perfect for children and adults alike. Melick's boast a variety of fresh apples that are "ripe for the picking," including Macoun, Empire, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Winesap, Jonagold, Cameo, Fuji, Gala, and Cortland, among others. There is also a great little tractor that carries anyone from one of two main parts of the orchard, which is great fun for the kids and lets you take a good look at the property. Melick's also boasts pumpkin-picking, in addition to a host of baked goods (pies, crisps, crumbles, etc.) and homemade preserves, jams, and butters. And of course, they sell apple cider!! Definitely give this place a look if you're in the Oldwick area. We had so much fun! I docked a star because the prices of the apples are pretty steep: you're looking at ~$1 an apple, but you are paying for freshness, so keep that in mind. read more

In fairness , I hit this late on a Saturday afternoon in September and I think it's clear they are past prime at this time of the year.I wasn't impressed by their pumpkins.But I'm very familiar with Melicks and they are good.I used to regularly go to their stand at the Chatham Farmers Market.Also I've had their corn from this stand many times and it's great.I recomend their hard cider which is surprsingly good.Again it's New Jersey and we're beginning to be past the season. read more

Rating is for the market only. We needed apple cider for a recipe and this market was close by and having had their delicious cider before, it was a no-brainer. Their cider is great and they have fresh vegetables and fruit (snap peas, cherries, corn, cucumbers, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, blueberries, squash, etc). They also had pies, donuts, breads, hard cider, jams, and so forth. A cute little market not too far from the Somerville circle. read more

I have been going to Melick's farm stand on Rt 28 in Bridgewater for years. Unfortunately every time I have been there this season I have been very disappointed. The teenagers that run the register and oversee the store cannot answer a simple question regarding the apples ... and more importantly I have been very disappointed with the quality of the apples. I have gone so far as to throw out an entire bag of apples that I bought there because the taste was just awful. Honestly I love supporting the local farm stand, but the poor service and poor apple quality is making it very difficult to shop there. Can you please hire some knowledgeable employees who can answer simple questions ? That would be a big improvement. read more

In the spirit of Fall, two of my roommates and I went searching for somewhere to pick apples near the city. Unfortunately the first spot we came upon, which was only a half hour or so away from the metro area, was little more than a parking lot overrun with misdirected city-folk and their screaming children. We were surprised there were so many people there as there were no apples to pick and the prepicked pumpkins looked as though they had been bought at a store and hasitly strewn about the dusty suburban lot. We resolved that we could not resolve ourselves to the sad likes of such mockery and instead determined to drive an additional 45 minutes away from the city. When we finally got to Melick's town farm, the difference was astounding. Melick's is the real deal! Rows of apple trees brimming with fruit stretched back for acres. We enjoyed the country sights, sounds, and smells. The apple trees were alive with large juicy specimens for the picking. Sadly, The apple shortage has raised the price of apples so we had to moderate ourselves. Still our spoils were delectable and my roommate made a fantastic pie from the green ones. The Oldwyck farm began charging two dollars per person this year to pick apples due too guests leaving mass amounts of litter including used baby diapers in the orchards after a weekend of apple picking. We've been visiting the farm with our family every autumn for over ten years and have always had a nice experience. But over the past five years the crowds have picked up and our visits have become less enjoyable because of it and now with the additional fee to pick apples this will probably be our last trip to Melicks orchards. read more

While I haven't been to the actual farm, I've been going to their stand every week at the Madison Farmers Market. Corn has been the best of the different vendors I've tried and other produce has been great as well. Looking forward to seeing what they have in the fall! read more

If your Hispanic not a good place to take your family. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!!!!! As soon as we walked in we noticed we weren't welcomed but we insisted that maybe was the hot summer day I guess not. We continued our journey picking peaches and at the end we decided to rest in a picnic table under the shade to wait for the rest of the family to come back . Aparently we weren't aloud to sit their because it was a working area which just had a box of bags and a clipboard laying on top oh and aparently one honey stick garbage that someone left. My husband tried to wash his hands and my kids too but for some reason we weren't aloud because she thought we were playing with the water but like I said we had a big family and all of us were picking peaches so we wanted to wash our hands. She became so rude and said to all of us to move somewhere else with an attitude didn't like how she spoke to my kids because the didn't know what was going on. I am just saying think twice if your Hispanic to come to this place. I recommend EASTMONT ORCHARD FARM best seeet peaches and everyone's welcomed with a smile. If we were rude trust me we would payed 70 dollars for our peaches we would've left it there but I guess some of us weren't raised with respect to other ethnicity's people. read more
