Their dental care was great, and they have a fun environment. My problems with them were administrative. They frequently sent us bills for things that they should have been billing to our insurance, and it was a hassle to get it all straightened out. The final straw came one morning when I had an appointment at 8:00 am. I was running a little bit behind that day. I got a call at about 8:05 asking if I was coming in. I told her that yes, I was on my way. She said "But will you be here by 8:15? Because if you are here after that, they will have cancelled your appointment, and they will still charge you for it." The fact that they were so inflexible with a longstanding customer gave me the incentive to find a new dentist.

Walking in, there is an old VW bus in the waiting room. During the Covid-19 pandemic the bus is closed but at other times kids are able to play inside and watch shows while waiting. We bring our four kids in all at the same time and they have plenty of dental hygienists to get them started in the cleaning at the same time. Kids are given earphones to watch a movie on a TV mounted on the ceiling while their teeth are being cleaned. The staff is all friendly and helpful. We've had a great experience with them. Highly recommend to those in the west Kaysville area.

I had a bad experience with this office for a few reasons. 1. simply because of the receptionist…read morenamed Heather. I told her my insurance covered dental and she continued to tell me I was wrong. Turns out I was right, I just had to go through the trouble of calling my insurance and letting her talk to them. Every time I called I had to talk to her and each time was treated rudely. All I wanted to do was make sure that my insurance actually would cover the services for my kids dental care. Weird that I want to pay the cheapest amount cause I have insurance... 2. My kid had 5 cavities. The doctor didn't even offer to fix them without putting him under first. I didn't feel comfortable with this. He didn't reccomend laughing gas or any other way. I felt very uncomfortable with this option and I ended up finding another dentist that did my kids cavities in 15 min without numbing and only laughing gas. I'm glad I trusted my gut. Definitely would not recommend.

It was exhausting! When I saw that this office was less than 10mins from my house I crossed my fingers! Our initial consultation was very direct and straight to the point, which I really appreciate. Our first appointment went great, with a few fillings but we were home within an hour. Our second appointment today was quicker and easier! I can't say enough good things about Dr Brett right now. I was very pleased with this office. They were so great about getting us taken care of anytime we…read moreneeded to stopped in for a bracket or a wire fix. They had my son in and out of his braces in 6 months, before we relocated out of state! The billing practices of this office is where they fell flat off the five star rating and into a one star. I mentioned my son was treated for 6 months, however they bill the insurance for an 18 month treatment plan. I was very upfront with the office at the time of treatment that we would be switching dental insurance, and they insisted that as long as my insurer accepted a treatment in progress, there would be no issues. My son's out of pocket expenses were paid upfront and with the insurance change there was a slight adjustment and a small balance due of about $88, sort of annoying, but I paid it. What was huge, was the call a year or so later to let me know that I have a balance of $340 due. I called several times throughout the year to check on my balance with the office until it was confirmed that I had nothing due (we had other treatment plans in addition to my son's). So I am sure anyone in my position can understand my shock at the suddenly due balance, and the explanation I received on this new balance is without a doubt the most obscure billing policy I have ever heard of and experienced. Insurer's have a contracted rate they have promised to pay, so as a medical provider, if you accept this particular insurance, you have agreed to this contracted rate as payment. My initial insurer had a contracted rate that was higher than the contracted rate the insurer's that took over; keep in mind that this office accepts both insurer's rates. This office has chosen to continue to bill at the higher rate, rather than the contracted rate of the second insurer. Here's the kicker, had I just waited on treatment and waited until my new, lower paying, insurance kicked in, I'd owe nothing at this point but, because the second insurer came into the picture after the fact, the office will not adjust what they are charging to the new contracted rate. They are instead charging at the higher, initial, insurer rate and jilting me with the balance. They were deceivingly dishonest about this billing practice. So if you find yourself in a potentially similar position, perhaps it may be best to wait or go to a different provider, but certainly do not ask the staff because they'll only tell you that as long as the new insurer accepts a treatment plan in progress, you will be fine; which take it from me- is definitely not the case.

Unfortunately, I stopped taking my children here because of the horrible front desk service I received mid 2022. What happened was one of my younger babies needed to be sedated for some work. I paid the 100 deposit needed for the anesthesiologist. Well they have a certain time threshold if you want to cancel or reschedule which means you forfeit the deposit if you don't do it within the time. As all parents know we have no idea when our kids will get sick. And my little one got sick, as soon as I noticed the first symptom, fever, I called them but they were closed, over the weekend as well. So on Monday I called them. And the person I spoke with, who sounded like they were really young said the deposit would be kept, i asked politely to speak with a supervisor. The girl that came on the phone also sounded very young and they were closed off, not understanding and not really wanting to listen to what I was saying. It was very rude. I tried to remain calm while they just restated that my deposit would be forfeited. And I should have called I explained that I had no way of knowing my kid would get sick, I tried calling and they were closed, finally when asking for some else they said the office manager wasn't available, I said I would wait for them on the line, they offered a call back. The office manager didn't call back just the 2nd girl I spoke with and she wouldn't pass the phone to the office manager just saying that the I would have to bring in my sick doctor to prove she was really sick. At this point I was upset and said you want me to take my feverish kid to the dentist at 6am? They said yes so finally I said yes but I wanted my deposit refunded. I woke my baby up at 6am and took her. The office people were very rude when seeing me. But I saw the anesthiologist and when he saw me with my daughter he chuckled at the fact that they made me bring her in while sick so he could see her. He did say yes she is sick she shouldnt be seen today. I left, they never refunded the 100 dollar deposit and when I called and asked about it, I finally said I wanted Dr. Wade to call me so I could speak to him. Seeing as they were being very rude. He never called me. I cut my losses and never went back but fast forward almost 3 years later they just sent me an obscure bill for 325 dollars with no details for the services provided. The administration at this office is the most unprofessional I've ever encountered. Their lack of compassion for my situation and my sick kid, their rudeness, disrespect during conversation is the very last thing any parent wants on top of dealing with a sick baby. And the fact that they are sending a bill so many years later shows the office is also lacking in paperwork and billing skills. PLEASE reconsider taking your kids to this office. I now take my children to Christensen Pediatric. The front office is lovely to work with. I was so upset by this situation that when a similar situation happened with Christensen Pediatric I was apologizing profusely because they were closed Fridays, and couldn't reach them until Monday, they said don't worry about the deposit we know things happen with kids. It was such a sigh of relief. Dr. Christensen is very fast efficient and caring with my kids also.
